Sam chuckled. "Lucky bastard." He sighed and sat down on one of the vacant chairs. "It wasn't all that special I did get to punch out a harpy though." He faced James. "What about you? How was the hunt?" Noise from upstairs caught his attention. "I better go see what that was. Tell me later." He jogged up the stairs making his way past the others rooms until he found the room the noise had came from, Noel's room. "Noel? You alright in there?"

Mathias' car pulled into driveway and he parked behind Sam's car. He decided to leave his weapons in the car, he was sure he'd be out again later anyway. He stepped in the house with one thing in his mind. He walked past Jeff and James , merely giving them a nod as he made his way upstairs. He walked down the Hall until he found Gwen's room and he gently tapped on the door.

Tanya flopped on the sofa with a cup of instant noodles and inspected James and Jeff. She took a moment to silently look them over. When Samuel came in, he said what she'd been thinking. She wasn't too surprised about James since she figured he'd be back sooner or later but when she heard that Jeff got a concussion from falling on his face, she couldn't help but laugh. "Heheheh~ Jeez Jeff, seriously? Out of all the things to get injured over ; you weren't even in the field." She snickered slightly before putting a hand on his shoulder. "But I am glad you're okay. You too James." She said, giving him a nod.

Gwen shook awoke "Hello?" she called weakly to the sound knocking on the door, she was feeling a mixture of dread and fear, she knew who it was, but she hoped it to be anyone else. "Come in." she said.

"What can I say, I'm extremely clumsy. I reacted the same as you when I found out my head had gotten split open." Jeffery began laughing as well, "it's not to serious at least, should be completely fine in a week."

"Well you know, I could make you a remedy. Fix you right up in three days." She said with a broad grin. Tanya's herbal remedies always work though they usually didn't smell, taste or feel right in your stomach. She says that's how you know it's working but others think she may slowly be trying to poison someone. However her intentions when it comes to her remedies are always pure.

James looked at Tanya. "I don't think anyone would wanna take your remedies if they weren't guaranteed to work," he said. "I think I'm allergic to whatever you put in them though. Last one you gave me left me puking and bed-ridden for 3 days."

Mathias slowly opened the door and entered the room. Mathias Blackwell was a powerful man, he was one of the most influential men in the Slayers organization and in the world in general.Even more so he was feared by monsters and people alike from all his experience in Slaying. As such he always had a very intimidating air about him without even trying. Instead he waved his hand at Gwen signaling her to talk.

"But it worked right?" She said as she wiggled her brows. "Those were just side effects. Nothing to fret over." Tanya said as she waved her hand dismissively and slurped noodles from her cup.

James rolled his eyes. "Nothing to fret over my ass..." he grumbled. He remembered how sick he got. He was fine afterwards, but that was hell. "What do you put in those damn potions anyways?"

"All natural herbs and animals from all over the world. I get them from a gypsy I know." Tanya explained as she sat cross legged.

"You know what, I'll pass on the remedy. Thanks though. I'd rather stick with these bandages and stuff for a week, rather than puke for a few days," Jeffery said a little nervously after remembering what those 'remedies' did to James.

James grumbled, "Damn gypsies..." His phone rang, and he answered it, then after talking to someone for like 2 minutes, he hung up, before standing. "I'll be back in an hour." He started to walk out.

[Totts]

Gwen looked at Mathias, he was a lot more scary in person than he was on the phone, Gwen let a tear run down her cheek, before saying ' I'm sorry dad, I'm sorry I spoke to you that way' eventually her tears began to intermingle with her coughs, and she became a very sorry sight. 'I'm scared dad, I'm scared I can't live up to your expectations'

"Bye James." Tanya said with a disinterested wave.
"Suit yourself." She shrugged before reaching for her purse and digging through it. She produced a dried....something. Lizard perhaps. It was in a plastic baggy that she waved before Jeff. "This little guy coulda fix you right up."

James walked out casually, as if endangering his life by going solo wasn't a big deal at all. if all went well, he'd be back in an hour at least.

Jeffery cringed when he saw the thing she pulled out of her bag, "I don't even think I could force that down my throat. What is it?"

"An Australian wheezing gecko and you wouldn't have to force it down your throat. I'd grind it up. I could bake it in bread or something." That was the one thing scarier than Tanya's remedies. Her cooking. The girl couldn't boil water.

"How about no, I'm fine but thanks for the offer," Jeffery paused staring out into space for a few moments, "I never thought I'd ask this but how much longer till school starts?"

Mathias was surprised. He had always known Gwen was eager to please, but she didn't know she took it so far. "You don't need to be sorry and you don't need to feel as if you need to live up to any expectations from me." Mathias had taken in all of the children with expectation that they would be his successors but had always none their was the possibility some or all, of them would grow tired of the lifestyle and decided to choose some other life path. He had always prepared himself for that. "You need to live life for yourself, not for me Gwen."

"But, all I've ever wanted to do is make you happy dad, and I'm sad because I can't even do that one thing." Her tears got worse and worse, and with it her coughing, she was sputtering violently and looked like she desperately needed some medicine 'And, as we both know, I'm too ill to do any slaying'
