Tanya put the sorry creature away and leaned back on the sofa, eating noodles. "I have no clue. I haven't been doing this school thing long and I have to tutor all the time so when we do, I doubt I'd even notice." She said, thinking of her past out in the streets and how since the day she was adopted she was also taking cram studies so she would attend school with everyone else.

Mathias moved closer to Gwen's bed as her coughing grew worse. "There is more to Slaying than fighting Gwen, you could do anything and I'd still be proud of you."He removed a small flask from his jacket pocket. He popped the cork off and held the flask to her. "Drink this, it's Undine tears, it should help keep you stable for the night." He was a hard man, and showing emotion was difficult for him. He always had a soft spot for the children, even if he had a hard time showing it.

Gwen drank the undine tears and began to feel sleepy, she felt her eyelids get heavy and she fell down onto the bed, the taste of it wasn't the best, but it helped. She slowly drifted away to sleep, darkness covering her eyes.

Mathias brushed Gwen's hair slightly, feeling relieved now that she was asleep and peaceful. He closed up the flask with the remaining Undine tears and left it on her bedside table for later. "Sleep peacefully." Slowly he walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. He headed down the stairs, checking his watch as he did. He would need to leave again for another hunt. Unlike the kids he was used to sleepless nights. He looked at Jeff and Tanya. "So how were your days?" He took a look at Jeff's head. "I take it yours wasn't that great."

"Fine. When do we start school?" She asked. Tanya had an online meeting with her tutor to get caught up on algebra. That was the one class she didn't have to take at school since she had an excuse to do it online.

Lin tossed and turned in his bed from all the noise downstairs and tried blocking it out with his pillow, but to no avail. If it wasn't bad enough he could've sworn he heard Mathias's voice coming from another room, If it was him it'd be a big surprise since the man was almost never home. Finally he couldn't take it anymore, he got out of bed and headed downstairs. "What's with all the noi-" He was cut short after seeing that Mathias was here "Oh god what'd you guys do" he said with a very bummed out look assuming they were all in trouble.

Tanya tossed her hands up in defense. "I didn't do anything! Is it so weird to just want to chat with Mathias before he goes out again?"

"Well, I got a concussion while you guys were hunting harpies. I even got to ride in an ambulance," Jeffery said smiling. Now that the pain had subsided he was acting a lot better.

Mathias chuckled at Lin. "You'll start tomorrow. With the rest." He said to Tanya while he removed a cigarette from his pocket and placed it between his lips before facing Jeff. "Well atleast you didn't get it from the harpies, I know I taught you better than that." Mathias checked his watch again. "Well I'm off to deal with a ghost infestation downtown, might be a lich involved so I probably won't be back until you come home from school." He removed his lighter from his pocket and lit the cigarette in his mouth while he headed to the door. "Tanya, keep the rest out of trouble while I'm gone!"

"Sir yes sir." Said Tanya with a salute. She watched as his car peeled out of the drive before settling back on the sofa. "Ya know, I rode in an ambulance once. A lady was giving birth. Now THAT'S fun." Tanya had a morbid sense of humor. "Ah well. Guess I should get some rest for school." She said as she got up and stretched.

[Rin Okumura]

"I can't sleep so I'm just going to stay down here for a bit, maybe watch some TV." Jeffery starts flipping through the channels on the TV, trying to find something good.

"Alright, don't stay up too late if you're planning on coming to school." She said as she went upstairs and went to bed.

"Right behind you" Lin said as he went up after her and got back in his bed

"I'm..I'm okay.." She called quietly, her soft voice shaking. Noel took a deep breath before making her way across the room to her door were she stood for a moment staring at the wood. Forcing herself to open the door she came face to face with Sam. "Hi.." She forced a small sweet smile onto her face despite her tears falling from her tell-tale red eyes. Raising one hand to her face she wiped a tear from her eye with her palm.

"You don't look or sound okay." Sam said the concern in his voice was evident. While he wasn't related to Mathias or any of his siblings by blood, he felt like he might as well have been. He cared for his family more that anything even over the intense thrill he got from being a slayer. He'd die for them if that's what it took. "Is it a guy? Because if is I'll go break his nose for ya." He said half jokingly in an attempt to get her to smile. He doubted it was guy, but if it was he would seriously go break his nose."

Noel chuckled softly and raised a hand to cover her mouth to keep from waking the others up. "No..There's no guy." She gave him an honest smile. "Unless you count Jefrey's little tumble earlier." With a small laugh she leaned her head against the door. For a moment she stared at Samuel debating to tell him or not. She didn't want to make anyone worry about things that happened years ago but she knew if she didn't tell him she'd regret it.Finally she sighed lightly and cast her eyes and the ground. "It was another nightmare.. About.. the night.." She didn't want to finish her sentence when a lump caught in her throat.

He couldn't help breath a sigh of relief when Noel said there was no guy. Samuel frowned slightly. He hated to see her this upset. He knew very little about her life before the orphanage and he made a point not to pry into anyone's past. Especially now that she was having so much trouble"You don't have to tell me if it's too hard."

Noel suddenly felt badly for dragging him into this in the middle of the night, even if she didn't have control of it. "I'll be fine." She forced and sweet smile onto her face as she wiped the last of her tears away. "It's in the past right?" She'd never told anyone but her adoptive father about what had happened to her parents. The embarrassment of her fearful nature all came flooding back within an instant. Without hesitation or thought she blurted out. "Will you take me on the next hunt?" Full of hope she stared at him eager for an answer.

Rayne was an avid card game player. Actually, avid is the wrong word. He is addicted to card games. This would obviously explain why he would help his friends host an end of summer card game tournament, as well as enter it himself. More people came to the tournament than was expected, all of them paying the 5 dollar entry fee, some of them betting on who would win each match. In the end, Rayne took home the gold, as well as realizing his phone battery had been dead for hours. He was mad at himself for not realizing this, but he was excited he had won a box full of cards (as well as a load of cash). Rayne, with a pained look on his face, opened the door to the house, and without saying a word, his face back to its normal, empty look, walked up to his room.

John had driven home with the others after the harpies were slayed. He parked his car in the garage and entered the house. He climbed up the stairs to his room, moving slowly due to fatigue. When he got to his room he threw on an old grey shirt and some basketball shorts and flopped onto his bed. He plugged his phone into charge, but before he locked it, he checked his messages. Just one from Alyssa. He read it. And then he read it again. And again. He felt like he had read it 400 times by the time he set his phone down. He didn't know what to think. Did he love Alyssa? He wasn't sure. There was definitely a part of him that liked her a lot. And there was another part that didn't want to ruin their friendship. "Ugh," John groaned as he rolled over and closed his eyes. Maybe he'd ask Gwen tomorrow. She was one of Alyssa's best friends. She would definitely know. With that thought, John quickly fell asleep.
