Personality: Shea can sometimes come off as obnoxious due to her loud, extroverted nature. She doesn't like to be bothered with the little things in life, and has major goals for herself. She takes everything she does seriously, though she is a very goofy person. She will flirt with anyone who will let her, but don't mistake this for looseness. She has a hard time getting close to people, and her closest friend is probably a piece of paper and her Hello Kitty pen. She loves nice things, and prides herself in being able to spend money on expensive things.
Background: A nine year old Shea was in class on a seemingly normal day of school when she discovered her gift. A distraught parent of one of her classmates came to the school with a fully loaded shot gun, ready to take out his anger for his child's mother on his son. The gunman came into the school full force, unfortunately killing 2 security guards and the sweet office lady who checks tardy students in. The school was small, and Shea's class was the first door right next to the school office. All of the kids heard the gunshots go off outside and scrambled to hide under their desks, but they were still in the middle of hiding when he came into the class room. Their teacher had tried calling 911, but he came in just after she pressed Call. She quickly threw the phone down, but the gunman shot her down. He quickly caught sight of his frightened son with Shea, and aimed it at them both. He pulled the trigger, and no blood was sprayed. Shea used her force field projection to protect her classmate and herself. The cops stormed in and took control of the situation. They didn't have to put the man down as he surrendered.
After that, Shea discovered she was what protected her classmate and not some random miracle. She struggled with herself and her gift, wishing she could have saved everyone who lost their lives at school that day. Shea left the city, and relocated to another part of New York to escape what happened, and all of the press.
