I only have a vague idea of what enthalpy is! By that I mean I know exactly what it is but I have no idea how it applies to anything else in physics or chemistry!

Enthalpy is energy as it relates to mass, volume, and specific heat.

My book is a 9th grade book, it doesn't explain entropy except in the notes and it doesn't even mention enthalpy. D: Maybe I'll look at the Feynman lectures about it.

It's not super hard. To calculate it, you just use mcat.

He removes energy from the bonds keeping the atoms together, then rebonds the particles in different arrangements by adding the energy again, giving them the ability to bond.

Enthalpy is the energy contained in a substance. It is essentially chemical potential energy.

When something loses enthalpy, it releases it as heat, in an exothermic reaction. When something gains enthalpy, it takes in heat, in an endothermic reaction.

Something like burning is exothermic, and I can't think of an endo ones right now.

When you make a chemical bond, that releases energy (I know, weird), so it's at a lower enthalpy state. When you destroy a chemical bond, that takes in energy, so it's at a higher enthalpy state.

I believe that the way Nimda refers to enthalpy is done with some heavy artistic license, because if it was literal, it would mean increasing enthalpy just makes something more likely to react (kinda) and decreasing slows a reaction (kinda).

Perhaps an explanation from Nimda is in order?
