I want to roleplay a specific version of the Marvel Universe I have in mind. As much as enjoy some of the current Marvel Cinematic Movies I feel they're not exploring their characters and stories to their full potentials. I wonder what 'Thor' would have been like under a director like Christopher Nolan. Or Spider-Man under James Cameron (nearly happened back in the late 90's). My favourite superhero movie is 'The Dark Knight' with 'Batman Begins' as a close second. I want to give a greater sense of realism to the worlds -- have real moral conflicts, ethical greys, and stories which rely on more than just punching the villain. Another element I want to add is any of the heroes can die if they make a wrong decision. Why? Because this is a roleplay and we don't have to worry about losing customers.
Still with me? Great. I know how I want to portray most of the key heroes and villains, and what actors I would choose to play them if I were given the chance (though I can keep this to myself if others don't like pictures in their roleplays). I'm unsure whether we should play as the heroes or if we should play original characters in the universe. I would prefer to introduce the heroes and their settings before handing them over to others. By that time however you might have an original character you're fond of anyway.
My idea to tie the roleplay together is to have us start as agents of SHIELD. Each of us have our own field of specialisation. We won't have powers to start off with though that can change as we progress through the story. As Agents of SHIELD we'll go on missions and come into contact with the heroes and villains of the world. I'll most likely tie in an event for the heroes to come together and fight, though that would come after all the introductions are done.
I will be acting as a GM and will play the numerous characters in the setting. Whilst you and the others play as the Agents of SHIELD. I'll refrain from making a character of my own considering I've got a universe-worth of heroes and villains to juggle.

I'm looking for ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS. People who add something to the story, not just reacting in a passive way. If I throw you a curve ball I'd hope you'd still bat it out of the park (or something).
