Hunters and Tamers and Students OH MY.

So.

A relatively simple premise.

The academy theme is popular, and I agree it has a lot of charm.

A supernatural academy, also extremely popular.

So, I simply want to take it and see what we can do with it once more.

A supernatural world, where humans live their little lives veiled by some divine spell to not see all the mystical creatures that actually share their world.

An age old school for those who have been granted vision beyond to learn and adapt.

Not all things that go bump in the night are bad, but a lot of them don't seem very friendly.

When some calamity occurs, and only students are left to protect the masses from swaths of varying evils and magical blights.

What are you going to do?

Alright, so that's about it. Of course I will want to go deeper, maybe create some magical fantasy history or something, a bunch of arbitrary supernatural laws and whatnot, but yes, the time tested idea of kids fighting all that hides under your bed or in you closet is back once more, and it is up to us t make it something unique and new.

I was thinking the calamity could occur quite early on in the RP.

Give us a few posts to know the teachers somewhat, then poof.

I am rather interested in this. Just a quick question first. The students are human right? Do they fight with weapons? Magic? A mix between the two? Something else entirely?

Well Redwing, I was going to explain that more in depth in the OOC but I see no problem answering now.

I myself enjoy a lot of options, so I would say that a bulk of students are human, but you can play as most supernatural beings (if you run it by me that is). Something similar can be said for fighting styles, I love having a wide variety, and so some can fight with weapons, some with magic, some with a mix. It's all relative to what the writer enjoys, and what I can call fair game.

I hadn't put all too much thought into this so far but when I imagined it, modern came to mind.

That being said I love throwing around time periods together (Granted my success has been limited)

We could have a sort of fantasy modern time.

Sure you could drive your Toyota echo...OR, Horse and buggy.

Sure, handguns why not...BUT SWORD AND SHIELD HELL YEAH.

Or something to that effect...

Really I think I may just have it modern, but since the school is an old fashioned place, they will also teach people to use swords, horse-ride, ect ect.

I'm honestly up for either, so if anyone has any ideas to weigh in on that, feel free.

I'm in agreement with your idea, be it rough. I think alternate modern works, since the characters will all be a mix of supernatural or human characters. Magical and nonmagical characters should all be possible. For instance, you could have a human who fights with some sort of advanced sword-gun hybrid, or you could have a character who is perhaps some sort of supernatural creature allowing him to use only magic. But, that's just my two cents.

Well, I think we could muscle those things in with normal modern, but yeah, it would make more sense t go alt-modern.

I think I will give this a few more hours of interest then post up an OOC.
