Name: Sitara 'The Siren' Kalyani, she goes by Avanti
Age: Guess
Gender: Female
Relic Description: A Silver Whistle engraved with strange symbols, that she found on a deserted island. It's power is something she keeps to herself.
Skills: Glaive Master: While the glaive is an atypical weapon in the region of Othea, Sitara is not from Othea and in her travels she has mastered the glaive. However, using a long weapon hasn't left her defenseless at close range. She still has a dagger at her belt which she is no stranger to putting through a man's eye.Well-Traveled: Moving back and forth across Azukhar, to escape justice in many cases, has taught Sitara a lot regarding foreign customs, laws, and languages. She isn't a scholar, but she knows how to get around the streets from Da-Hyun to the Isles of Jardis in the East.Contacts Everywhere: Another benefit of her travels, Sitara has amassed a list of contacts in different cities. She also knows how to find the right people everywhere, so even if she has never been somewhere before it will only take a few days before she knows where to go for what. Background: Sitara was born a fisherman's daughter in the city of Taragos, the center of trade on the west coast. Despite her humble origins, or perhaps because of them, she was an ambitious child. She hated the idea of spending her entire life working on a fishing boat, or marriying a dirty fisherman and settling down to raise dirty children who would be able to do no more than she had. The other children in her neighborhood constantly picked fights with her because of her smug, superior attitude, and she never made any attempt to be less abrasive. Eventually her street fights evolved into bar fights, and that's when she received an invitation from a man whose nose she had broke to join his (father's) crew of pirates.
Becoming a pirate was an easy decision for Sitara. Travel, adventure, and the promise of wealth? What was their not to be happy about, killing some merchants? Well what had the oppressive merchant class ever done for her? So she quickly learned the ropes of fighting on the high seas, that's the first time she encountered a glaive. Despite the close quarters they fought in rendering it hard to use, a merchant guard had been fighting with one. When a cutlass finally took him in the back, he hurled it right through one of the pirates in front of him. From that moment on Sitara knew she had found the weapon for her, and despite the captain's urgings she kept it once it had been pulled from the dead pirate.
Several years later she had gained quite the notoriety as a pirate, and drew a lot of attention. Few pirates kept women, and few of those were elevated to first mates. Of course, not all were happy with this even on her own crew. Particularly, the boy who invited her on in the first place. He had figured he'd be getting a woman to warm his bed when he invited her aboard the crew, but in just a couple of years she had gained the favor of his father and become the first mate. He was already not getting any, and now she was bossing him around? So it wasn't long before he began whispering to the other crew men about it,
she has only been hear a couple of years, you've been here eight! or
Is she really good enough to be the first mate? I bet that whore is just sleeping with the captain. Whatever he was saying, Sitara began to sense a growing animosity towards the captain and herself, and so after they landed at the next port she disappeared. The crew woke up from a night of drinking and women to find the captain's son with a knife in his throat, and the Siren nowhere to be found. After that, she avoided the sea, using the talents she gained as a pirate to fight on dry land. Sometimes as a mercenary, sometimes as a bandit. Until eventually rumors of unrest in Othea brough her to the country hoping to find some work, or plunder.
Appearance: SitaraMotivation: Absolute Hedonism. Sitara's life goal is money, drink, and the pleasures they bring. Whether or not she's on the side of the law depends entirely on who is paying her.
Theme Song: I've ironically drawn a blank on my own theme song.
Edit: This will have to do.
