Shroedinger stared at the picture Jason was holding. She could guess the pain he was feeling was some what similar to hers, granted she hadn't felt that pain for half a solar year now. She then looked at Jason again "There's no way anyone could have known they had a weapon like that. Command was just as shocked as anyone when that weapon fired" She put her hand onto his chin, feeling the roughness of hairs, a frown forming on her face. Her other hand raked through his hair "Come on, lets get you cleaned up, you'd never let yourself get this messy"
Sheila giggled a little when Yelgir tried joking. She could feel that it wasn't his strong point, and didn't want to hurt him too much. "There was one thing I was hoping you could help me with. Do you think you could help me memorize the ship layout? I don't want to get lost every time I walk to the lab or to the mess hall." She looked at the frequencer "Unless you have something planned for the next few hours."

Jason flinched at Shroedinger's touch, seeing as his feelings for her were set off whenever she touched his chin, or ran her fingers through his hair. Just things that for some reason the boy really liked. He hadn't been expecting it, because he was convinced Shroe did not share his feelings in any manner. He eventually relaxed into her gentle touch before looking at her, his eyes betraying the conflict going on inside him at the moment, between the great anger he felt at the destruction, and the desperate craving for Shroe to care for him. Those two were raging a battle to see which one would be the predominant emotion at the moment. Jason nodded slowly at Shroedinger, in response to her comment.

Yelgir grinned a little at the unexpected response to his joke attempt. "I'm not sure I can help you memorize it, but I can get you a map from the ship's archives. As to being busy, I was just killing time." He glanced at the frequencer and winced at his unexpected pun. On second thought, maybe he should leave the joke books alone. Too much humor could corrupt his system. "Follow me, there's a user terminal just around the corner." Yelgir led the way out of the training room, and let the hatch slide shut with a hiss. There was always something comforting about the subtle sounds of machinery. It was a reminder that the daily sounds stay no matter the circumstances the rest of the world is in. When they reached the terminal, Yelgir unlocked a small cupboard near the base and pulled out a portable display. Approximately 6" square, and a few millimeters thick, the display's clear plastic faces showed information that could be stored in its memory. After downloading a map of the ship onto the display, along with a schedule of meals, meetings, and drills, Yelgir handed it to Sheila. "This should help you find your way around."
