He placed the present back on its shelf. He knew just what was inside. It was an upgrade to his dragon weapons and a new suite of armor.

"I had to do many things which I regret. You know, we're kind of the same, you and me." Opal smiles a bit more at him, her tail wagging a little. She then looks away, blushing shyly to herself.

"You will find I am not who I pretend to be all the time. If and when I feel the time is right man will come to fear me for the wrath I will unleash upon them. They hunt anything dragon but what if a dragon hunts them." He says calmly.

"But you'll never be like that." She turns back to him, the blush still fresh on her face. With slight hesitation, she hugs him gently, smiling a tiny bit. "I know you won't." The blush on her face grows redder.

shadow is a bit taken a back by this display of emotion from her. he takes a moment and then hugs her back. " you know your not cut out to be a guard on this station. you would make a better bodyguard. you have the alertness to detect when someone is trying to hide something even if you only get a small glace of something. thank you for this moment. your welcome to stay here as long as you want. i don't have anything to do tonight so a bit of conversation with a friend would be great." he lets her go and smiles at her.

Opal smiles back at him. "You clearly haven't seen me angry. You'd immediately think that I should be reassigned as a drill instructor." She giggles lightly, then realizes she is still holding an ora. She begins to play with it a little, twisting and turning the sides slowly and carefully.

" you have only seen my calm side. the reason i dont get angry is becasue of an event in earth history. when i was 20 i got this present on the day i was told that my parents were killed. the next day 6 cities were on fire and their entire population was lying dead in the streets or their homes. the one who was to blame for all of that is me. i went psycho and killed millions in the span of 2 years. i fled earth and then traveled to new planets for a while. they have dropped the charges on me back on earth because they think im dead. but the reason i did that is because i learned i was the last known member of a dead race. its hard to keep living knowing i may never see another dragon as long as i live." shadow explained sadly.

"I'm very sorry about that. At least that is over, though." Opal heard a click as she rotated a part of the ora in her hands. She held her hand out to the bottom of it, smiling happily as a small sapphire gem dropped into her hand. "Wow. This one is really pretty." Opal says, lifting the gem up to get a better look at it.

Shadow took a look at the gem and then did a few mental checks. " if I remember the rare gem market that stone may be worth between 20-40 million credits. But I know that it means more as a sentimental object. " shadow picked up his present again and then looked at it.

Shadow looked at the box in his hands and then sighed. He should have opened it a long time ago. He pulled the wrapping paper off and then opened the box to find the weapons and armor but also a few dragon scales. They belonged to his parents and he almost started to cry at the sight of them.

This was a good day. While Ilham had never minded, and even came to found comfort in his job taking care of the ship's engines, it was a dull job. After all, he was a miner, not a mechanic. This mission would be the first time he was on a planetary mission since his old job, and now pirates weren't a first concern of his. It was a nice change to have to worry about other things before them. Along with his pistol, he also took a drill - a tool by nature, but he had gotten used to also using it as a weapon. Getting everything he needed, Ilham waited for the others at the designated meeting place.
