The night was warm, and pretty quiet, save for few owls and crickets singing their night song. A small mouse sat on the hill overlooking a village, where torches were lit by the guards who were on duty. Perking its ears as it heard the distance cries of a lone wolf deeper in the forest nearby.
CRUNCH!
The mouse was suddenly gone, an owl had swooped down upon it and clutched the small animal in its talons as it squeaked in fright. As it flew, it made sure the field mouse was dead before flying back to the ground, placing the small vertebrate on the ground. And suddenly, the owl would become large, more deformed, as it turned into a human, a young woman with long, brown hair. She wore a red dress, rather cheap but it seemed to work. Draped over her head was a black cowl, which cast a shadow over the top half of her face, hiding her eyes. Extending an arm toward the dead mouse, she grabbed it and quickly chomped down on its head, yanking it off as she chewed, watching the village as she ate her midnight snack... unusual for a 'human'.
