[OOC] The Spider Men and Women of Manhatten

Two years ago the masked vigilante and hero spiderman announced his retirement with no reason given. Five months after that crime rates increased by 10% and there was no sign of the web head coming back. A think tank at Oscorp (now ran by a man by the name of Samuel Richards) thought up the idea of supplying the local law enforcement with state of the art weaponry developed by them especially for the police. The idea was accepted almost instantaneously and project Excalibur began to take effect. With in six months every police station in Manhattan was supplied with high tech weaponry able to take down powered villains such as the sand man or electro. Now two years later in the year 2036 Manhattan is at a level of crime equal two or even less than when when spider-man patrolled the streets but things are starting to take a turn for the worse. Now Oscorp is able to do just about anything they want thanks to their now growing government ties and even though it's under new management that doesn't mean Oscorp is going to change its ways. With its new found power Oscorp is slowly but surely beginning to take over Manhattan from the top and pretty soon any hope of actual justice will be just a dream.

That's where the Spider-Men and Women of Manhattan come in.

A month or so ago a quite a few individuals saw the evil in the corporation Oscorp decided to put a stop to it. Using their already existing powers/abilities and some tech gratefully donated from an anonymous source, the Spider-Men and Women of Manhattan was formed to begin an uphill battle against Oscorp. The Spider-Men and Women began hitting Oscorp where it hurt and began targeting research and development sites where Oscorp began doing less than legal testing and experiments. Soon the Spider-Men and Women began to get on the radar of those higher up in Oscorp who saw this now minor annoyance as a possible threat to their plans so using their ties to the law enforcement they issued shoot on sight orders on every member. Soon the army of vigilantes became a smaller group of survivors and those recruited after the the orders were issued. Now those surviving must use all their wits about them to defend the city that wants them dead.

Hello and welcome to The Spider-Men and Women of Manhattan RolePlay! As you can probably tell from above this will be a spiderman based roleplay with quite a few of some of your favourite characters seen in a new light. In the RP everyone will play as a spiderman themed character with powers or skills to match. Now that being said you don't necessarily have to play with spider man themed powers, you could go for a hero on a old goblin glider or an old version Doc Oc tentacles but if you go in that direction make sure your characters are not extremely over powered.
Now with this rp you got the standard rules of no meta gaming, no power playing, be respectful, GMs word is law (although I'm always up for being corrected if you feel I'm unjust) and last and most importantly have Fun!

Now onto the status of some of the characters you know and love. Also note that if you have an idea for a bit of plot for one of the characters wether it be a conflict or what not feel free to PM me your idea!:

Spider-Man/Peter Parker- Peter Parker and Mary Jane Parker had two children after they were married which really cut into his hero time. After a near death run in with two green goblins consisting of Harry and Norman Osborn in a tag team which ended in their deaths, Spiderman decided to hang up his uniform and become a full time teacher to try and support his new family and hasn't touched his costume since.

Electro- Hasn't been seen since the beginning of project Excalibur but thought to have developed the ability to transfer himself into electronics and has been hiding away waiting for the perfect time to strike.

Harry and Norman Osborn- After the crushing defeat at the hands of spiderman time and again the two Osborn boys began to slowly go insane with their drive to kill the spider and finally they both domed the goblin costume and attacked the Spider-man at the very same time with both overdosing on goblin formula. The battle ended with both goblins falling from their gliders at a great high and into the depths of the water where they had been battling. One body washed up on shore a few days later and was confirmed to be Harry Osborn and the body of Norman Osborn is never found but thought to have been washed away to turn up later or never.

Sandman- The sandman is one of the few villains that turned over a new leaf and began a life of good. Rather than become a hero or anything if the sort he resides at a beach in the summer time constructing massive sand structures for children to play in. By doing this he's gotten exponentially greater in his ability to control his power.

J. Jonah Jameson- He worked at the daily bugle for a year after Spiderman quit his act of heroics (which Jonah threw a office party for everyone to celebrate) but he soon after retired after having the bugle bought out by Oscorp to influence the press on what was being said about Oscorp. He now enjoys his retirement.

Black cat- Felicia began running more under the radar heists in order to avoid being taken down by the new and improved police force. She's been off the grid for a while and doesn't seem to be emerging any time soon.

More will be added as characters are met through RP or ideas are given.

Personality: He can kind of be pampas and is called a know it all but as it happens, he does know it all. He was abit sheltered as a kid so he has little lower than average social skills.
History: He was home schooled from as far back as he can remember which is the age of 2. He got his doctorate in medical science at the age of 14, and another doctorate in technological studies later that year, and a doctorate in hero studies after that. From a young age he had always liked hero's like Spiderman and Reed Richards, though his parents forced his head into a book when he had free time he would watch stories of hero's on TV. He was never athletic but he started being a hero at the age of 16 hacking into police station computer and distributed criminal information to the hero's he knew, mostly amateurs, kids in hoodies, he only gave them small time criminals, anyone to dangerous and someone could get killed.
Other: He has 8 Ph.D.'s, 10 masters degree's, and 15 B.A degree's.
He actually doesn't wear a costume he barely leaves his house.
His step dad had bought him an entire weight set, he hadn't touched it yet. "Who has the time, man."

Name: Ludwig Orramunse. (Aw-Ra-Mun-s)
Alias: Goblin
Age: 18
Powers: Hyper Advanced Cerebral Cortex (Allows him to absorb information and store it almost instantly, sounds, smells, touches, he has a photographic memory, he can recite the entire of "The Origin of Species" off by heart)
Skills: Blackbelt Karate, speaks fluent English, German, French, Russian, Chinese and Japanese.

Personality: Nutty as a fruit cake.
History: Born in Hamburg, Germany, he was a genius, even at a young age. When he was only 5 years old, he passed his A-levels with distinction, aged 10, he passed out of Berlin University. But, his genius came with a severe price-tag. When he was 11 years old, he was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy and was sentanced to a wheelchair for the rest of his natural life. When he was 14, he was given a Genius grant, and set about trying to find a cure for his disease, he didn't bother with PHD's and Doctorates, he knew everything there was to know about it, and wasting time getting the official paperwork would only slow him down. 2 years ago, the new Oscorp offered him a place in their company, which he accepted. During his time working at Oscorp, whilst rooting through the old companies satilite files, he found a backdoor to Secret R&D... Here, he found Norman Osborns original designs for The Green Goblin, as well as the Iron Patriot. In the files, he found the code for the Goblin Formula... He spent the next year trying to fix it, mold it into something less insanity inducing, but just as potent. He soon realized that the higher ups were on the verge of discovering his secret work, so he had to rush to human testing. He took it himself, the super-steroid pumping life into his almost dead muscles and bulking them up to immense levels, with no sign of Schizophrenia... At least, for the first few months... After a severe reprimanding, he was sent back to work, where he noticed hightened aggression, vowing that he would never lose his sanity like Osborn had, he began working on a Mental Fortitude drug to keep himself from going insane.

Ever since then, he has been building a new super-hero persona for himself. The Goblin... Building new weapons for the R&D division, then making them with Goblin themes for himself. His current theory is that he needs to burn through the insanity-inducing levels of testosterone that his body is producing, by beating people half to death, the only people he's allowed to do this to are criminals.
Other: He uses his own variation of the Goblin Glider with inbuilt Shock cannons, similar to those used on the Iron Patriot.

Name: Michael "Mike" Bowens, doesn't know it however.

Alias: Tarantula

Age: 19

Powers:

Powers

-Vastly enhanced strength, able to lift 50 tons with great effort.
-Durability, great enough to withstand most calibers of bullets however armor piercing and .50 caliber punch right through him.
-Wall cling.
-Tarantula has two pairs of "legs" that are similar in shape to a spiders however function only as piercing/slashing weapons.
-Venomous bight, deadly.
-Spider sense
-His smaller pairs of eyes give him a greater field of vision however it is blurry and best used as a warning.

Skills: None to note however his savage fighting style makes him unpredictable in a fight.

Appearance:

Tarantula

Standing 7 feet even and clad in iron hard muscles, Mike casts an intimidating shadow. On top of that he has the looks like something that crawled out of a nightmare. What isn't covered in hair is covered in chitin plates and light brown in color. Tarantula's clothes are ratty and covered in holes, not to mention he smells like a sewer.

Personality: Simple, reclusive, and a little self conscious of his looks. Mike isn't one to judge people, living in the sewers and being a monster would lead to that. However he doesn't let the fact that most people would rather run and shoot than stay for a talk get him down and is in fact one of the nicest people you could meet. However he isn't known to be gentle with people who hurt children or take advantage of the downtrodden.

History: Before Mike was Tarantula, he was a high school graduate with a desperate need for money. When the opportunity to get some extra bucks came, Mike jumped at the chance and signed up for some experimental research in mutation. While keeping it a secret from his family, Mike was subjected to many experiments by Oscorp. in an effort to make "spider men" for most likely nefarious purposes. The experiments never really went anywhere and the project was about to be debunked if they didn't make any headway soon. Several days later the head scientist, desperate for results, pumped Mike with much more serum than was safe and caused a reaction that would change his life forever but ending theirs. The massive influx of serum caused Mike to change into Tarantula, losing his memory in the process and causing him to rage out of the lab.

The damages were great and Mike is now officially dead in the eyes of the united states government, along with the scientists close to the lab. Since than Mike has been keeping to the sewers, only leaving at night to prowl the streets and fulfill his need for movement and heroism.

Other:
-While technically a hero, Tarantula has no problem simply killing a villain and being done with it.
-Along those lines Tarantula steals meat, clothes, and shiny baubles that catch his eye. He justifies it by saying that most places wouldn't let him in the door.
-Ever so often, usually when the smell of blood fills the air, Tarantula's mind will revert back to baser instincts and act upon a simple animal logic.

[Drake Baku]

Name: Alexis Zeke
Alias: Silver Ryu (also called Silver or Ryu )
Age: 25
Powers: Alexis had found a strange orb a couple of years ago that gives him his powers:
Silver:
this power is a high defense power in general, from the center of his spine he can release a liquid silver colored metal that covers his entire body (like a symbiot), with crystal like visors on his eyes, the mass can be reshaped to make things like claws or swords, bigger things like wings however need to leave spots on the `skin` open as the mass is limited.
The entire mass at least supports Alexis his muscles, as the "skin" is heavy, yet he can still move as good as always and even do a few feats better (like jumping from roof to roof or lift something heavy with more ease) but its nowhere near super strength, just a slight support.
the mass can also be crystallized as the visors indicate for multiple purposes such as turning black to hide in darkness or turn diamond to increase defense some more BUT prevent movement, also the visor can change to give other types of vision such as heat, high speed and even night and zoom
also it has at least 2 other shape it can take:
Dragon shape:
like shape where its body is covered by blades, it gains wings and a tail, BUT leaves the stomach area and lower legs open as that inside the mouth of the dragon head you can reach Alexis his head (what is both a danger to the hidden identity part and a danger in general for attacks), this shape however increases strength, high jumping due to the strength and heat vision
Wolf shape:
Taking on the wolf shapes his body turns more aerodynamic, walking on all 4's, having a wolf head and actually looks perfectly like a wolf in any way aside its silver color.
The wolf shape increases speed to high levels, also increase agility, able to scale walls to a small degree with the right momentum, it has small claws what is not of much use for attacking and is made purely for scaling the walls, the tail is made from blades and on the chin it a small yet sharp pin, the visor is a high speed sight nonstop, objects can be placed in the back layer in order to safely transport them, the ears take in sounds from all sides working as a small range radar or long range eavesdrops system.

trough he is pretty powerful his power is filled with weaknesses:
-the "skin" need time to pull over Alexis, its a short time but its still vital as the area that is most important, his front(chest) gets covered last, so a quick attack, a sniper shot or something used right when he starts pulling the skin out of his back would go trough the opening before it covers the body completely.
the skin is also not perfect, bullets of a normal gun do get stopped but always leave a bruise, a point blank shot or a sniper shot hurts like hell and would surely leave a huge mark and will hurt a long time, perhaps even deal some damage to the muscles under the skin's, explosives power in general would get blocked but the shock wave will surely deal its damage to his body under the silver, leaving Ryu with a concussion at least.
-each visor sight has its own weakness, heat vision might be useful to see though a wall but it cant see who is who (at best it see's the difference between male and female), high speed will surely leave a splitting headache (and possible dizziness) the longer its used and thus cause problems concentrating and keeping up with things, far sight prevents seeing close by, night vision is most likely the only one with no problem but cant see in light area's
-the black gem state is like any gem, a heavy thing so while it hides Ryu, if ryu walks on things like metal or hard ground, chance that he makes sound is high
-diamond might take a sniper or even rocket hit, even prevent the damage explosive would deal him if he gets hit by it in basic silver mode BUT he cant move so its only useful for defense and its the hardest shape to make, taking some time in order to shape and he wont be able to keep it up forever.
-the dragon shape has open spots on the armor and fixed heat sight so useless in a team fight yet needs team members to cover the weakness parts
-the wings I mentioned are not for flight as the entire armor is to heavy, at most it can glide a little to prevent falling to death.
-using any shape and falling in water will let Alexis sink deep in seconds due to the weight it gets in water, Alexis cant move due to the added weight during this and he sinks so fast that pulling the armor back into his back will still leave him to deep to swim back up, the armor would have limited air under water and only the dragon shape could walk under water BUT due open spots lets water in the armor, limiting air more and eventually end with drowning.
The wolven shape might be better then the dragon due to increase of movement without lowering the defense of the silver class BUT, it has multiple other weaknesses, making it a good question which would truly be better:
-Walking on all 4's means Ryu loses using his hands or most human based traits aside talking.
-it has nearly no offensive ability's as the tail is hard to use in general, the chin pin can get stuck in the target (or other stuff he might hit if he misses the target) and the paw claws are not made for attacking with, being too shallow.
-the visor just like the dragon cant be changed and will give Ryu a large headache the longer he is in this shape
-the space of the objects on the back is limited of course.
-the ears can only do one of the 2 options at the same time.

there might be some more unknown qualities to the power like more crystal shapes and visor sights, but he needs to learn them and I will off course first ask if the new trait is acceptable
Skills: Quick thinking and analyzing, high IQ (most things will be things I really know, but its a lot to just explain)
Appearance:
Costume: will give a drawing soon, but its his power, an body made from silver, no face aside 2 crystal visors on the eyes, a zigzag pattern on the jaw line, blue gems on the back of the hands, small points on the crown of the head, spine, elbows and knees, from the shoulders to the stomach their is a smooth pattern where on the stomach it ends as horizontal lines as if a second rib case, the chest is flat and featureless but extended as if a huge muscular chest is there, no visible, the feet have 2 points (like saber-tooth's boots in most of the comics)

Personality: Ryu is normally cheerful, and wants to help, be a hero and more, when playing hero he tries to make stupid jokes, he can be a bit stupid at times (like realizing the could have just climbed by using his claws AFTER having been running for 15 minutes before finding a fire stairs and escaping like, or falling and taking diamond shape to break the fall, yet had been smarter to has opened the wings and glided safely) but he is not stupid, he can analyze things quickly most of the times, tends to talk to himself or think out loud, he hates to take a live and normally always looks for other options, but he is smart enough to realize that sometimes he wont have a choice if the live of innocents are on the line.
History: When Alexis was a small kid he was saved by Spidy (before he retired) and from there on he wanted to be a hero just like him, having spidy as his role model (making up for the stupid jokes he tries to make)
but aside that he had a tough life:
Alexis had always been a little sheltered from other children, not making friends easily during his childhood, most that did became his friends had some ulterior motive...
It was when he became 16 that he finally found a good friend with a girl and when he was 17 they even became lovers, but it all came down a year later.
When the 2 got to spend the night together for the first time (since dating) a super powered villain with a lust for money broke into their home, took everything he could get and afterwards took his time to burn and destroy all other stuff n the house, including the residents.
Alexis was the only one that had survived it by pure luck but during his ordeal he lost him home, his lover and only friend he has ever had and his parents...
Having seen the burned up corpses of his parents he wished there would be more people like spiderman out there to take actions against these horrors, wishing he had some powers during all this so he could have saved the only people that have ever loved him...

currently he is living in his parents old caravan, having a gas stove and getting water from shops (paying for them with the small heritage his parents left him)
Unable to find or keep a normal job due to multiple reasons.

During a trip out of New York, Alexis came across an old ruin hidden deep in a forest, Not having much to lose he just walked in hoping to find something interesting but all he found was a large empty room with some wall carvings and a strange throne in the center.
Alexis just sat down on the thing, looking at the carvings, trying to solve the puzzle, it took him some time, more if he did not had some interest in archaeology, so this was a upside for once in his live and he learned something about 14 orbs and that one was supposed to be hidden in this room.
Needless to say he went looking for it, curious what these orbs were, then he found it, in the throne in the wood far above his head, he had to climb on the thing to reach it, there was a single thing, it looked like a silver circle placed deep in the throne's stone frame.
It was the only thing that stood out, a room where everything was rock and there was something silver in the throne.
The moment Alexis fingers touched it the silver reacted, becoming liquid, gushing out of its stone encasement and covering Alexis before disappearing trough his skin.

At first nothing else happened, and it was not until a year later that the silver thing appeared once more.
an explosion at a shopping mall ended up making a large and heavy wall fall over right on Alexis.
At first he thought he was done for but when he opened his eyes a silver layer had jumped out of the center of his spine, covered his back and his arms (in order to support the weight of the wall resting on his back).
Due to this he was able to survive until he was rescued an hour later.
From this point on he trained his new found power, learning all the secrets listed in the power section and becoming the Silver Ryu!

Other: All other 13 orbs are already meant to chose Alexis, he wont be able to use them all at the same time, only one at a time and he needs some rest in order to switch between the orbs (with a chance of failure and ending up with an orb he did not want to use if he cant focus enough, or even not changing orb at all)
so he wont be OP (each orb has its own powers and own weakness list, as that Silver, Black and Teal would be the top 3, the others are all weaker in general).

-With ease, I have even had rp's where I was active with 6 and more chars XD

-both options can be, both NPC villians but also player controlled ones (trough I think its best of we forcus on the hero's and only play with the villains when they are needed for the mission, trough using them for past time/ posting at times where you cant post with the hero might be allowed, can be either for just letting them do random stuff out of boredom or even create a setup for later in the story (like creating a new sinister six team of player controlled villians XD)

what do you think, cause I am just giving idea's to juggle with and see if you like it ^^

The new timey sinister six idea sound flipping awesome. I shalt use the idea if you don't mind and EVERYONE feel free to make a villain PC for use in background or later on in the story if you so please.

Alias: Spiderman-Neo (or Neo-spiderman)
Age: 21
Powers: Similar to same powers as spidy himself in general:
-improved physical abilities such as agility, speed and strength (trough mostly he is focused on speed and less on strength compared to the original spidy)
-Able to crawl on walls
-has organic web shooters in his wrists
-instead of a spider-sense that feels danger he can feel aura's, using this he is able to feel those in his area and even tell if they are lying or scared and such, this gives a spider-sense when the enemy is attacking physically (trough he cant really feel the exact movements unless its a big body part like a huge tail of the lizard that is attacking him) but as bullets and such do not possess this live energy, he cant feel these coming at all, also if he is familiar with a specific aura from being around them for a long period of time, then he can feel them from much further, trough he can only sense a general direction and only strong emotions (such as fear)
-increase in intelligence but mostly to a degree where he can make things like spider tracers and a kind if distress call on cop's radio frequencies to alert cops where he has trapped crooks
-retractable claws on the fingernails, where they look normally but can grow into sharp points with a density similar to ivory.
Skills: due to his powers he has an increased intelligence on a more mechanical level, trough without any studys in the subject he can only make small simple things, He has made his personal martial arts.
Appearance:

Personality: will work out during rp
History: A few months ago his entire live was suddenly turned upside down.
Patrick went to bed normal and powerless, but after he woke up things were different.
He knew he had these powers and he even had a spiderman costume hidden in his closet, it was a good hiding spot but he knew it was there.
It was clear something had happened but he has no idea what, was he abducted, did something else happen to him and did he get send back in time or something?
He tried to remember what date is was when he went to bed, but he could not remember it, but all the people that knew him had not reported him missing and said that he was still active and normal, even tje subjects they talked about what he did a week before he could remember them.
Currently he is acting like a new spiderman, mostly rouge at this point, given himself the name Neo-Spiderman, knowing the same reason why the original one acted: with great power comes great responsibility, trough he hopes to eventually find out what has happened to him!?
Other: he has some spider trackers and cop warning systems with him at all time.

Name: Robert Krane
Alias: Web-Head
Age: 23
Powers: Robert has enhanced senses so he can hear, smell, see and feel much better than the average person which gives him a sort of spider sense. Along with his powers Robert possesses some ‘confiscated’ Oscorp weaponry such as a set of mechanical Spider legs which allows him to leap high up into the air, wall crawl and attack using them but he’s not very cordinated with them. Robert also has a set of artificial web shooters.
Skills: Robert has training in gymnastics which allows him to pull off flips, semi-compicated acrobatics and has a great sense of balance.
Appearance: Robert is fairly short and is looks fairly skinny but in truth he is pretty sting thanks to the gymnastic classes he took when he was littler. Rob has brown, short hair and blue eyes.

Personality: Will be developed through RP.
History: Robert was just an average person, had a job as a burger flipper, lived in a small apartment making just enough money to stay alive. One day Robert got fed up with his mundane life and began down a dark path. It started with Robert using his rent money and buy twenty lottery tickets. Now normally this would have been the beginning of the end but against all odds Robert actually had a winning lottery ticket which won him a regular supply of money every year which was more than enough to pay for his current life style. Robert saw the winning as a sign and decided to use the money for good. At first he just donated to a bunch of different charities but he soon began to fall into his rut again and before he tried to use his money to buy more lottery tickets he saw an act of police brutality being done right in front of his eyes. An officer smacking around a helpless man who couldn’t defend himself. Robert then decided he would instead use his money to take down the criminals that the police would not.
Other: being mostly a normal human being he is pretty frail.
