[OOC] Digital Monsters - Virtual Online Battle/Raising Game!

All righty, first post should be up... within the next few days. For now though, have some rules and all that fun stuff.

The Digi-Rules

No god-moding, auto-hitting, controlling other's characters... all that good stuff.

While I'm not picky about post length, try and aim for... I dunno, two-three sentences at least. Just for the sake of having something to respond to.

More of a head-up, but this RP'll be using the English names. Mostly due to preference.

I will make a Musical episode obligatory and we will be singing the Digirap. You will not avoid this.

The Game's Digi-Rules
Good luck following these when all limitations are removed from the game.

No profanity in your username, your Digimon's nickname or on public/private chat,

Do not hack, or assist in the hacking of this game,

Do not bully other players or risk an immediate and indefinite ban.

Players discovered badmouthing the words 'Digi-', 'Prodigious', and Data Squad' will receive a permanent ban and a strongly-worded E-mail.

Also, I'll probably divide the RP up into arcs. Mostly to try and keep plots structured and mark milestones and all that.

Migrating my CS to here. I changed the Rookie form to Palmon and the in-training form to Tanemon.

Age: 18
Gender: Male



Personality: Max is a cheerful, optimistic guy who doesn't like to be bogged down with unpleasant thoughts. He enjoys laughing and making jokes with others, even in inappropriate situations. He is easygoing and friendly, which makes it easy for him to befriend people. He is really good at understanding other people's emotions, and is an emotional guy himself. He is not embarrassed to show his feelings. He cries when he is sad, and is openly affectionate towards those he cares for. Max isn't one who likes keeping his feelings to himself. He doesn't understand how some people can be emotionless and stoic. It's not natural, and he doesn't like being around people like that. He is driven more by his emotions than logic, and tends to act impulsively as a result. He does not think about how his actions affect others until it is too late, and winds up feeling bad about it afterwards if something goes wrong. 

Max is very sensitive, and really wants people to like him. He is willing to be a shoulder to cry on, and give you some words of encouragement when you are down. It is very easy to get him to like you, and once he is your friend he will remain your friend for life. He will keep your secrets a secret, and will do what he thinks is best for you. For him, hurt feelings hurt worse than a hurt body. He is very eager to please people, and will do anything he can to make other people happy and earn their approval. He doesn't always enjoy it, but if other people are content then everything should be alright, right?

Max is a creative individual. His favorite pastime is drawing and painting, and he often be found dooding in a sketch book when he has free time. In addition to his creative pursuits, he enjoys Video Games, Anime, and other things that most would consider geeky. He also has an affinity for cute things.

Appearance: "I stole a sign post! Best glitch ever!"

Personality: Friendly and optimistic, Tatsuwas always the type to aggressively befriend everyone she met, always seeming to default to a state of "we've always been friends" with them. While this does mean she has trouble keeping a grudge, she also trusts that everyone and everything will come through and meet her expectations, no matter what. Furthermore, despite her friendly nature, she's also somewhat petty and stubborn. Seeing herself as a wise, leader-type kind of person, she hates her judgment being challenged. Even if she escalates situations, Tatsu can be quick to apologise... when she forgets the reason for her anger an hour or so later.

Digivice: A grey version of this.

• Appearance: Both in the game and in real life.


• Personality: Yumeko is... ditzy. She seems to, despite her age, lack almost any experience as regards the basic necessities of life and the sense to realise what needs doing--if she's left to survive on her own, or just given a task like cleaning clothes, you're likely to end up with a lot of damaged clothing and an injured female. Especially with cooking, where she's outright a hazard who'll cut, burn, scald, and generally mistreat her own hands.
  She doesn't seem to be entirely the best at focusing on important things; Yumeko's mind gravitates towards tangents and the nightmarish. She's friendly and difficult to upset, though, so she's nice to have around. Good for dealing with frayed tempers and upset people.
  Despite this... oddness, she's actually pretty smart, if she's paying attention. Ask enough and she'll readily admit to having gone through tertiary education.

Some background on Yumeko: very wealthy family, and she's actually good at something! That is, she's a qualified doctor. XD

Name: Kobayashi Kumiko, in-game "KoKumi"
Age: 16 in real life. Her avatar appears about 16-18.
Appearance: Her in-game self... and her real self.
Personality: Kumiko is an avid gamer and fan of anime and manga. She has a deep enjoyment of such media, and tends to spend all her free time on that sort of thing. In addition, Kumiko is a rather shameless pervert towards cute girls of all sorts. In game, she's liable to flirt with any girls she comes across. She's very outgoing and friendly in-game, as well. In real life, she's more nervous and even skittish, though she's still friendly if she gets to know someone, and still rather shamelessly perverse towards cute girls. That said, she feels more comfortable communicating in some other manner than face-to-face, unless she knows the person she's speaking with already. While she doesn't completely resent her childish, immature appearance, she does wish she had a more mature body. This is largely because she believes it would make it easier to get cute girls. This is reflected by her in-game avatar. She's generally more confident in games then in real life. While it wouldn't be right to call her shy, her nervousness and lower confidence levels are a marked difference between how she acts in games and in real life.
Digivice: The same as an Adventure Digivice. Blue in color.

Every single character other than mine is female, and nowhere in the OP does it say the game is exclusively in Japan. A little variety would be nice... :/

Background: Kaori doesn’t actually remember anything about her past. Only that she woke up one day in the Digital World with a Digivice in her pocket and Patamon by her side.

The truth is a bit darker than that. She was once a part of the game world; in fact she’s a product of the same glitches in the system that created the problems the cast will face. And who knows how she’ll react to that little revelation?

It doesn't seem to be the case, but is there a specific Digivice that is supposed to be used? And what is the general setting going to be?

No specific digivice, just use whatever you want since they all have the same functions. As for setting... well, for now, it'll be within a game world. I'll have some sort of area map up at some point.

Given that everyone else has gained that impression, and it's troublesome if characters don't have a common language, maybe it is?

But considering this an online game... It shouldn't really be that big of a problem. The internet converts their speech to English/Japanese. Problem solved.|D

That's stupid. Have you ever used an online translator? Imagine how much worse it would be with homophones. Speaking of homophones, Japanese is full of them.

Not every Anime fan has a fetish for Japaneese sounding names... >_> (I don't mean to sound insulting, but I've been on way too many forums where people complain about a dub changing a character's name...)
