Right...

I'll put money towards the more realistic goal of building and empire and dividing the world between me and my allies...

Speaking of Empire building, where's Gowia? I want to see how badly I get fucked by the rolls haha

Ok, so the grass is Johnson grass.
Looks like I CAN have horses and/or livestock, during the fall, winter, and spring. But during the summer...

Negative aspects of johnsongrass
Johnsongrass is on the noxious weed list in several U.S. states (including Oklahoma) and has even made the list of the 10 most noxious weeds in the world. Johnsongrass can accumulate nitrates during the summer if exposed to several dry, cloudy days in a row. It can also produce prussic acid (hydrogen cyanide) after stressful conditions such as drought, freezing weather or exposure to a herbicide that kills grasses. If your johnsongrass is subjected to any of these conditions, keep cattle away for about a week to allow the prussic acid to dissipate.

@KabenSaal, your traits include both Professional Army and Outdated Army. This does not work as Professional states new well equipped soldiers whilst Outdated says that they carry old weapons from times gone by.

@Mantido, your traits are fine but you end up with +1, not 0...just as a note.

@WilsonTurner, you do not get to pick your population. That too is rolled. Apologies if I did not make that clear. Further more this poisonous grass...it's not happening. It may be real and thats fine, but a US plant will not exist in a continent that is supposed to be Europe-esque. As well as that I just don't want people setting up natural defences that are going to kill off invaders live stock etc. just gives me a lot more to do. Having colder climate or more mountainous terrain is fine because I can account for that in population in each sector AND terrain for battles but grass that can kill people or their food supplies means a lot of numbers that will keep changing as people come and go.

That was as much as I could see that was wrong...rolls will be coming shortly after I finish my trip to the hospital, luckily they allowed my laptop in my room. (Damn sports injuries.)

Yea. They use Bows and other string-based projectile weaponry rather than powder weaponry. So while they are good at what they do, and the bows are well made, they don't have any muskets or rifles or anything like that.

Vanjanans have expensive tastes, it seems...

"So, what are we building the new factory out of?"

"PURE DIAMOND COATED IN GOLD"

They would have a lot more troops and ships if they weren't spending all their money on decorations. On the bright side, diplomats are said to cower in fear of their sheer opulence.

I would have gone for pure diamond coated in platinum.

Well, bows DO have a much higher rate of fire than muskets, and nobody really bothers to wear armor because of muskets, so bows might actually be somewhat effective. Until the enemy catches on and gives everyone armor. Then you lose.

Longbows can punch right though a suit of platemail, with a broadhead arrow, or at very least break the bones of the guy behind it and make it impossible to control the recoil of the musket.

The trouble is the reason bows were phased out in the first place, rifles and muskets have a longer range. The bow man is dead before he gets to loose. Rifles are more accurate than bows too

Musket man maybe able to outrange a longbow man, but they are inaccurate, and slow to reload, as well as causing a lot of smoke and a chance of blowing the gunner up. Rifles, are better than bows in most respects, but are only issued to about one in fifty people in the current era. So, while a one vs one in an open plain might not work well, but a hundred vs a hundred would be against the musketeer's favour, since a bowman can loose about three arrows to a single musket ball.

Well, at the current era, the general belief was that rifles where an inferior breed of weapon. Sure we can say now that rifles where better and all that, but at the time most generals relied on muskets, with rifles only going to a few choice Sharpshooter units like the British 95th.

Its always easy to say that since things developed differently on Edoniras that rifles were recognized as superior
And even then I doubt bows are more accurate then muskets.
