Shiranui was thinking about what Pokémon he would use against Liam.

Liam was trying to piece together his team, based on what he knows Shiranui is capable of doing.

Shiranui thought up a team and proceeded to have it ready.

Liam prepared his team. Once he had his six Pokemon chosen, he took to polishing the balls that contained them.

After Shiranui got his team together, he spent his time thinking up strategy after strategy for what Liam would likely throw at him.

Once Liam felt he had adequately prepared he went for a walk.

Shiranui went for a walk as well. After all the brainstorming he felt he needed to clear his head.

Liam saw his friend while walking and waved to him.

Shiranui waved back at Liam as he continued his walk. He headed for some market stalls, curious at what they were offering.

Liam went to get a snack. After he finished it he went to rest up for the final.

Shiranui found and bought some evolution stones for the journey through Kalos. Satisfied from his purchase, he returned to rest for the grand final.

The final was set to begin at sunset. Liam was taking care of buying what he needed for going to Kalos. Before long it was time to head to the arena. Liam went and was ready to take his place.

Shiranui arrived at the arena and took his place, ready and raring to start the battle.

"Good Evening all and welcome to the Johto League Silver Conference Finals!" The announcer says though the PA. "Today's match is between two Johto trainers! In the Red Corner Hailing from Blackthorn City, Liam Coleman!" A spotlight shined on Liam as he walked out to his box. "In the Green Corner from Ecruteak City, Shiranui Tsukiko!" A spotlight shined on Shiranui till he reached his box. "This will be a full six on six battle, with no time limit. The Winner will be named Champion!"

"Kyouchou, tear down that wall!" Shiranui called out his Honchkrow and the two battlers stared each other down.

"Honchkrow huh?" Liam said as he grabbed his Pokedex.
"Honchkrow, the Big Boss Pokemon, and the evolved form of Murkrow. Becoming active at night, it is known to swarm with numerous Murkrow in tow. If one utters a deep cry, many Murkrow gather quickly. For this, it is called "Summoner of Night.""

'Start with Defense Curl!" Liam called.

"Not on Kyouchou's watch!" rebutted Shiranui, "Kyouchou, Taunt!" The Honchkrow taunted Chansey out of using Defense Curl.

"Fine, Power up Punch!" Liam called.

"Kyouchou, Night Slash!" The Honchkrow swooped in with his talons ready to strike.

The attacks collided and both took damage. The Night Slash was critical. "Ice Beam!" Liam called. He hoped that Serene Grace would allow the Ice Beam to freeze the Honchkrow.
