"Protect!" Liam called. A Green shield appeared and took the ice attack for the legendary bird.

"Ice Beam!" Kitakaze went for a less powerful, but more accurate attack as the Suicune's crystal fed power into a bright blue orb of energy and a lightning-like beam issued forth.

"Discharge!" Liam called. Nikola was hit by the ice attack and let off the electrical attack.

Kitakaze was electrocuted and combined with Vesuvius' Solar Beam from earlier, the damage was enough to knock the Suicune out. "Kitakaze, return; Raijuu, I choose you!" Shiranui switched one legendary beast for the other.

It did little to Nikola. "Thunderbolt!" Liam called.

The damage was even less than Raijuu's attack. "Raijuu, Extrasensory!" The Raikou's eyes glowed a gold colour and an iridescent beam issued forth.

Nikola was hit by the attack. "Roost!" Nikola perched and restored health.

"Bulldoze!" Raijuu stomped the ground and sent a quake at the roosting Zapdos.

Nikola took the damage. "Ariel Ace!" Liam called.

Nikola did a loop-de-loop and swooped in for an attack that did not do much damage. "Raijuu, Hyper Beam!" The Raikou gathered a lot of energy and fired a powerful beam at Nikola.

Nikola took the attack. "Giga Impact!" Liam called.

Nikola's attack struck home and did some heavy damage. Both Pokémon had to recharge.

"Giga Impact again!" Liam called.

"Hyper Beam!" Both Pokémon executed their respective attacks and an explosion issued forth, covering the battlefield with smoke. Shiranui hoped Raijuu survived the attack, but the chances were slim.

Liam knew it was unlikely for either to survive. When the smoke cleared, it was a double knock out. Liam recalled Nikola and replaced it with Sylveon.
