But then Darkwolf decided to pull off another uber-attack of the station purely because I had quarantined the place and made things slightly more challenging for him. Because somehow its easy for one infected maintenance worker to build up a significant of other infected people, then disable power and somehow decide that the command center can't access blast doors(Hint:They can), all the while facing armed guards in armor guarding access to those things. In under what seems like a hour.

What uberattack? He just showed up with some worms, took some unwary people that I'm pretty sure weren't armed with flamethrowers nor had any clue what was going on, and then he sent them to an armory, in which your soldiers just shot some pretty normal-looking civilians because they were right in front of the armory. He had it legitimate; you didn't. You just made it your way.

I think your missing the point.

He did that while access to other people were sealed off, and he would have had to gotten creative to infect those people. He managed to disable the power while that was likely guarded. He said that the blast door were somehow not accessible from the command center even know they are.

They are worms, and I am pretty sure that the entire station doesn't have even room and hallway an individual compartment that contains its own supply of power and air. I'm sure he could have possibly found an air circulation duct, or some pipe or somesuch, and gotten into other rooms. And, duck, you didn't KNOW that one of your own was no longer on your side. You're playing to win, to beat everyone that is against you, which, I believe, is for an RTS game, not a roleplay. You can't win everything. You know something is on the station, or maybe not, but something that could be a minor threat is taken to like DEFCON 2, and you seal everything and arm all yours soldiers on this tiny little remote outpost space station. How do they even have an armory? How do they even have soldiers? It's a little remote station, is it not? Away from the main territory and the like, right? So why would the expense be made to arm the station with an entire compliment of soldiers, weapons, and another strongroom when it already has a drone docking bay and a ship dock. That's a lot of expense for a remote station; you must have significant resources if you keep everything staffed and provided for, for every single station, remote or no.

Duck, you were telling me this was a civilian station and it seems to be becoming more military by the minute. I expected maybe a small group of security guards with side arms, not an entire force with an armoury to call on with the weaponry that has been suggested to be perfect for destroying me

Also, have you invalidated the need for power, because without power how do you propose to operate the systems which require power to close the blast doors?

Furthermore, on the subject of shutting off the power, you speak as though there is no way to split units up to perform different tasks, and that everything must be done one at a time

Lastly, if it took you under an hour to detect us (Yeah, this is easily possible in a few seconds, I get that even though the sensors in the airlocks couldn't detect me, others might), contact the BCU, get them dispatched, have them arrive, have them give orders and dispatch a team to the drone bay, have all civilians moved to habitation and set the security forces racing to the armoury, how come I can't move across a station and release parasites into habitation and send some to the generators or such in a similar period of time?

Anyway, this is distracting from the main point if the discussion, since you blew up the station; why did not one infected person have even the faintest idea of the locations of any of the planets...

That's because they knew of it before, but Faust wiped their memory of everything relevant that could endanger them.

Faust = duck's hand of god in roleplay.

By the way it's Saturn the ship arrived at. Just to throw a spanner in the works,

someone besides a hivemind make contact with meeeeeeeeeeeee
and don't try to kill me, my people are already mobilizing against the hivemind, they'd be even harder pressed to mobilize against someone else.

@Wilson

Soon. I'm trying to make contact with all the other races, to at least identify them now. For stuff and reasons.

Ever heard of a thing called Martial Law, all police forces(and in this case the stations security force) have a stock of military grade weapons if martial law is ever needed. Quarantine in the Eternal Union is considered Martial law.

And even then if it was just small arms the guards are in suits which the parasites can't access, see how well you do charging even just 2 police officers armed with hand-guns. Guards are most likely guarding the power, and being in the maintenance section would have you on the ground quite fast during quarantine.

Combine that with the fact that the section of the station the infected guy was in had at most another 2-3 guys and maybe a single guard on patrol you would not be able to build up a large enough force to take on the guards.

So what you are saying is...

Your civilian stations contain more security forces than they do civilians? What is this, some kind of 3 guards per capita system?
Next time, tell me information about the spread of habitation area's and the numbers in them when I ask for "Anything else I need to know" or let me know at the time, because you know, it just makes sense rather than announcing after the fact "No, you only have three people" -.-

Duck, you have to be clearer with designations, "civilian station" implies it is mostly civilian manned and operated. This clearly isn't, or you pulled a 180 (For no reason right now)
Speaking of stations, isn't this an outpost? Wouldn't that be designed in a cost effective manner... Like not allocating every guy and him mother a personal suite which can be fully locked down at a moments notice.
Speaking of which, how big is this outpost, that the section I am in takes me longer than it takes the EU to bring another ship in to cross, and still only to have gotten one small collection of suites because the others are ages away...

As for charging people with handguns, I am lying in wait for them, massive difference. I'm presumably already close enough to grapple with you, even if they get seen. Oh, and considering we're in darkness, would it not be considerably more difficult to exit and immediately find and kill the would be ambushers? They're basically been told there is a disease on the station, yes? I don't know how many diseases you have encountered which lay ambushes, but I feel they probably wouldn't be looking for ambushers right outside the door -.-

Furthermore, are these security or some form of elite unit? You know the burrow rule was made specifically to bypass "I have body armour, you fail bang", why are these specific suits untouchable? Have you forsaken joints which could be used for the worms to create a hole for entry?

And all of this is still irrelevant, why are you bothering to dwell on this specific section when you already blew up the station -.- can we get back to talking about what IS still relevant?

I don't know why the station would be totally dark in the first place. You'd think the designers would have implemented emergency power generation systems in the station's preliminary design scheme or something.

It has virtually 0 redundancy, which is a horrible design flaw when concerning structures and vehicles that dwell and operate within the vacuum of space.

Also, worms burrowing through armor [in seconds] is extraordinarily cheesy on many levels.

A shirt? Sure. Military-grade un-powered, semi-powered or powered armor? No.

Duck, you pulled stuff out of your rear, such as a squad or more of armed, armored soldier, that know EXACTLY what they are fighting without prior knowledge, in a small, civilian outpost on the fringes of known space.

You cannot pull stuff out of your ass, such as soldiers and instatravel military ships, and place it anywhere you have a problem. For a peaceful race, blowing up your own station is very Draconian. Are Iscands actually fleshyskinned Draconians? They blew each other up and were all aggressive, but at least they didn't pull shit out of their ass at every problem. They already had it, and it was known that they had it.

First off, only the security forces have military training. And if they were really willing to allow civilians access to the armory, expect them to be pretty stupid in combat. They aren't military trained therefore they are cannon fodder. I also doubt there's a large enough armory on a civilian station to fight against a full invasion unless it really wasn't a civilian station. More armory space means less civilian facilities and/or space in general. If you made it larger for the space, that's a waste of money and time for something not militarized.

Secondly, even if a station goes dark, all power shut off, doesn't mean it's unlocateable. Echo location, material scanner, life sign detectors, long range sensors can also pick up any kind of emissions created by certain power plants, and that doesn't only mean exhaust. This can be radiation or even hydrogen build up.

Technology, 'tis a bitch.

This duck person really seems to be abusing power. Is the OP still around?

By the way, Kyelin, I am asking because I hope the first encounter with the Esurienti can be peaceful. They are built for war but war isn't their goal.

Also yeah. Been sick, but I don't really like what I;m seeing here with Duck. Until further notice his mod powers are suspended, to fill this gap, I will do something I should have done long ago.

Darkwolf, you're a mod now. Congrats, prove that I can choose mods well.
