I'm going to assemble a quick list of advantages and disadvantages of my navy, unit list later.

Advantages:
-Wide variety of weapons for a lot of situations. As well as lots of AoE and heavy-hitting weapons.
-Magic
-Extremely good shields
-Decent Armor
-More nimble and fast then other ships
-Cloak for most smaller ships and fighters

Disadvantages
-Not really specialized in any one type of weapon, thus there more of a jack of all trades.
-Heavy reliance on shields means armor is not as well invested as it should be
-Tactics mostly consist of setting up in a defensive situation and bombarding the enemy with everything, or using air stuff to attack stuff. Tactics aren't that diverse.
-Heavily Reliance on Magic.
-Spy tech is lacking, not really good at gathering information against enemies.

....
Really?
"I've got a lot of weapons for pretty much any kind of situation, I've got some good armor, it could be better but it's good for the moment, and we have great shields, so that while we spin circles around your ship, we won't take any damage."

...

Really duck?
You're saying your advantages are speed, weapons, semi-armor, and shields?

My ships are all great and big; none of them could be stealthy. They've got rigid tactics, because they don't have any reason to make any others, and they're technological level is quite narrow.

And here you are, saying you're either average or above average at everything but tactics and intelligence gathering.

My... skepticism has grown. Tremendously.

This RP seems to only contain either cavemen-level kingdoms with sticks and stones or super advanced and ridiculously OP spacefaring empires.

If you're referring to mine, at least I play reasonably fair. Not going to say I'm flawless, but I am only in it for the story.

As for that technological disparity, it's to be expected in a galaxy 15 billion years old. When humans have only been civilised for a hundred thousand years and we're at our current level of advancement, it's reasonable to expect others nations to have done such earlier in the past

The Iscandarians are jacks of all trades, good at everything great at none.

I don't think that's entirely true, duck. Not having a go at you, but wouldn't your shields be your greatest attribute? You're defensive in nature (at least, if you consider yourself a 'peaceful' race) and would be vulnerable to surprise attacks and raids.

In my opinion, I think you should just admit that your nation is highly militarised, and not geared towards peace. That's not a bad thing, but you nee to optimise your strengths towards that. But this is just my opinion, you do whatever you like with your NS. It is yours after all.

Well they do have a few things that there great it but at most other things there just average or above average at.

And yeah, im militarized. Thats more of the result of being advanced and other events (Gamilas in pre-ic history, Ethereals in IC history)

Also, Ethereals are vulnerable to magic. Hence why Iscandarians are my biggest threat now

EDIT: Personally, I think that's reasonable, regarding military focus. Lots of Bations are gearing up for conflict

I think to be realistic more people should kind of be like Sazkarjhia since it's a relatively advanced and balanced civilization.

Religious zeal isn't necessary but exists in that empire.

Fair enough. It would make sense for most nations to have strengths in all areas. After all, that's what we try to do today on the real world

*Alarai fly peaceful first contact flags alone ;w;*

Alarian strengths:

Excellent space fighter craft. They have a focus on spacecraft in warfare, with extremely advanced fighters and bombers, some stealthed, some heavy, some light, for any and all tactical occasions.

Tactics: Since they were in caves, the Alarai have always been engaged in three dimensional warfare. As such, despite their lack of experience in space they still have a lot more military experiences planetside that are much more applicable to space warfare.

Mass mobilization and Superior Logistics: The Alarai ships last a lot longer in space because they can harvest water from asteroid systems they pass. Also, the each Flag Fleet is a full standing fleet in its own right and can provide for its own, allowing the Alarai space force to be easily divided and much more wieldy. Also, through the Lunar Gates they can aid a beseiged system extremely quickly.

Detection: Alarian warfare is all about detection and fighters. As such, they have extremely powerful long and short range scanners to find enemies, stealthed

Weaknesses:

Capital Ships: Alarian Capital ships consist entirely of extremely lightly armed carriers. The Alarai military school of thought is "If our fleet is engaged in fleet to fleet action, then something has already gone wrong."

Ship to ship weapons: The Alarai lack any of them fancy cannons and lasers. Alarian ship to ship weapons consist mostly of rockets and torpedoes.

Well shit since people are doing that now I'll do my own

Sazkarjhit Strengths:

Political Unity: Sazkarjhia doesn't face governmental crises since the Vesselage is linked and has control. Since there is a degree of control, while still appeasing the public, the amount of civil unrest is not high.

Excellent Armor: Sazkarjhia's advanced metallurgical research has led it to have some pretty high-grade metals to use in armor. Titanium alloys are typically used for ships, while a metal known as carbosteel (Created by layering steel and carbon fibers), create a light, flexible, but still heavy-duty combat armor used in powered armor and vehicles.

Discipline and Training: Stressed heavily and an emphasis in the military. Soldiers operate with strict precision. An individual soldier can represent several from a small nation and have excellent proficiency in close-quarters combat and at ranges.

Atmospheric Combat: Between mass-mobilization of troops, being able to swoop in and drop them from the air, and having massive air forces, the Sazkarjhit are difficult to match in combat.

Religious Zeal: Being able to reinforce that into a soldier makes them unstoppable.

Atmospheric: It's more difficult for an invasion of a Sazkarjhit planet or station since the air they breathe (Which is mostly comprised of chlorine), is extremely toxic to most aerobic species in the RP.

Weaknesses:

Not Very Advanced: Shield, stealth, and overall weapons tech are nowhere near as advanced as some other empires.

Religious Zeal: The suppression of religious freedom creates diplomatic troubles, and makes certain Sazkarjhit claims more difficult to take seriously.

Weaponry: Still mostly kinetic weapons on ships in the form of magnetic slugs alongside missiles and plasma. Magic is used but is also infrequent.

Indeed, but not yet. It'll be thought about since the Etherals used hordes of Sisters and all them. Shields will come later, maybe after a skirmish with Duck or something.

And he completely missed the part where I implicate him in metagaming

Also, the Alarai have currently made contact with the Eternal Union and the Septonian Concordant, who are currently about to be engaged in what looks like a long and dirty war. Things are gonna get real awkward for them real fast.
