I'm certainly interested, though the lack of any sort of plot or common event to bring our nation's/characters closer together is a little troubling. I've been working on some nation ideas and searching the map for an appropriate location, so chances are I'll end up joining. Hopefully I'll have a WIP up soon.

That's going to differ between nations.

Of course, it would in the real world, but in an NRP it would cause a bit of confusion if we as the read don't know where or what they are talking about.

Though, this does bring me to wondering how long roughly these nations would have been neighbours, always seems like NRP's start off with everyone rushing of to their neighbours and acting like they have never seen or heard of them before.

Anyways, if I'm going to use what power I have for now I might as well voice concern over Monkeypant's app. In particular the dragon riders. Not only is the concept pretty strongly rooted in over empowerment, but the description only makes the fact more intense. If I were the actual GM I wouldn't accept and ask for that to be revised.

I in fact ask that the dragon riders be nixed completely. If at the least the entire concept is reduced to a single dragon and rider, which at the least offers the chance for a moment that might be described best as a Dark Souls moment. But having them a significant elite unit is kind of unfair and loaded with bullshit.

I'm going to chime in on the dragon bit even though MP was joking.

I don't know where people get this misguided idea that dragons are somehow god-tier units in fantasy RPs from. Perhaps they're potent for their speed and capacity to set things afire (such as cornfields and villages, which could very well deliver a hammer-blow to an enemy's war-waging capabilities and logistics), but with crossbows, bows and arbalests, punching holes in a dragon's wing membrane should be relatively simple. Once grounded, proceed with encirclement tactics with spearmen. Or just shoot it some more with ranged weaponry some more until it bleeds out.

That's always amused me too ASTA. Figure a well places projectile to the eye could put it in to shock.

Here is why they are God tier.. the word dragon itself just sounds imposing and what's cooler than a fire breathing flying "war elephant". Especially with those armored battle bikini chicks are riding them

Aside from the open super unit in the ns. Any other issues? I'm on a phone so you wont see any. Changes but I can at least get the input. What was the verdict on magic anyway. My battlefield medics idea is riding on that.

I'm trying to guage is the north western area is a good place for a civ with many trading outposts or not. [Same area by the way, is where Aaron is].

Issue being I am not 100% how to map their civ out outside of placing a bunch of dots where their city states would be along with what leagues/alliances they are aligned to.

Mainly since my guys eschew a unity in their culture far more than a political/national unity kind of like greeks or polynesians or really many earlier sea-based civilizations that liked setting up colonies on small islands.

I find it a similar issue to arab caliphate making since I fear going in with a paintbrush to highlight areas where they are distributed may give the impression they are powerful when they are really just a collection of city states that have cultural continuity.

Probably along the land's equator and jn areas with warmer climates.

I went with a city state model and just claimed a big portion of land. When it became a full on empire they united but each would still retain its historical borders within the super state. I suppose its akin to provinces now.

Borders within borders. (That's why I made the original Kazakhstan size nation.
