Honestly, the GM's been a pretty cool cat so far, and I don't want to see their relatively hard work crash and burn.

Yourself? I'm sorry, hon, but you're the one who's been treating others like crap. Admittedly, on Soren's first sign-up, I myself came off as a bit harsh, but I apologized and told him that wasn't my intention. However, you don't seem to care about your harsh words, despite the fact that they are quite hypocritical. I seem to recall you complaining that his second character sign-up had too many skills and abilities, despite the fact that they were quite similar to my own character's abilities, and mine was accepted. You, with the character of a ''natural genius, excels at every subject...'', complaining about abilities of another? Wow. Pot calling the kettle black much? Personally, I find you antagonizing, and the GM isn't helping by giving you special treatment. At first I was hesitant to believe that she was, so when I called you out - quite correctly- on your raven thing, she dismissed it, as you'd already been accepted, and had already posted in the IC.

I didn't seem to care about my harsh words because I didn't really realize they were harsh. I simply replied with what I've seen in hundreds of roleplays before this one, a simple, straight-forward character review. And I certainly have never attacked or abused another player, even when they've been flaming me or insulting my work. If somebody wanted to complain about me, they should have politely brought the subject up with me, so that we could have peacefully and intelligently resolved this conflict before it happened.

Regarding Characters

Charlotte and Magnus are hardly similar cases. Charlotte, while talented, has no rare abilities or items and is generally abysmal at schoolwork, research and anything requiring long periods of intense concentration. She shows her unusual potential very infrequently, as her general lack of drive prevents her from accomplishing much.

Shaman is nothing extraordinary, he's a magical Raven that was taught to speak by her father and who bonded with Charlotte when she was very young. He can talk, and is good at reciting and recompiling the obscure variety of tips and jokes he's learned from his original master. Also, contrary to what I think you believe, all of this information was disclosed with the GM prior to Charlotte being accepted.

The old Magnus, on the other hand, was both a Metamorphmagus and a natural Animagus along with possessing a rare wand. It's an extraordinary combination of three extremely rare traits, one of which is normally only possible for high-level and extremely dedicated witches and wizards. Balance-wise, it doesn't really matter, it's more that from a lore standpoint such a thing is unheard off and a little absurd. Once he removed the natural Animagus thing, I was totally fine with his CS, there was just a bit of a miss-communication that lead to him thinking he was denied. It's worth noting that when he posted his CS, there had already been another Metamorphmagus posted and accepted. Such an ability is so rare, it's crazy to think that two would be going to school on the same year. That doesn't matter much, though~!

On the note of your character, there were no real issues with it. I'm not sure what else to say, but that as a half-blood you would probably be more likely to be born a Metamorphmagus. Apple is hardly a rare wand wood, and being able to eventually become an Animagus isn't completely absurd if you were already studying it and dedicated a lot of time to learning the correct process.

This *is* the most hostile ooc environment I've ever experienced. I suppose it was silly to think that the interest-check issues would stop once the game got started.

My suggestion to the GM is something I had to do in an rp once I encountered a similar issue; ban fellow players from critiquing one another, it can get personal real quick, I had to ban it outright in one game, and I've made it a rule in my games ever after. Someone was allowed to PM me with concerns but not post in the ooc anything like that.

This is just not fun. So, I will be leaving as well. Good luck in all your future endeavors.

I want to apologize to everyone for the stuff I did that was... bad. This is my first time being a GM, and nothing like this has ever happened in other RP's I've been in. I'm sorry if it all became out of control because of me- I really didn't mean to do anything bad. I'm going to close this RP... Because of all this drama, it's not going to work, anyways.

I'm sorry but I'm out as well. No offense but I think that this won't be salvageable. I also have a complaint at the fact that a raven which is not even a domesticated animal can be allowed as a familiar at Hogwarts while a ferret can not. If you're so into canon then you shouldn't allow OCs

How did it get to ooc drama from kicking characters from constant changes to a CS? Can nobody argue reasonably? Quit your personal attacks and attack the matter at hand. For everyone else who said they quit, come back.

@Diminuendo Did you really not accept Soren because he changed his CS? If that's the case, I shouldn't be accepted for my changes. Just come back and explain everything. I'm sure you have a good reason for what you did (if you did it), though, whether it be inexperience or whatever. It's unreasonable to not accept CS being changed constantly, especially at this early stage of the RP, on the basis of thinking the RPer is "flighty".

@Tatsua Aiisen your comment was slightly over the top. While I do see the reasoning in it, I can also see an attitude that could easily be misunderstood. Also, there never was proof that the GM didn't do it.

Yes, MissCapnCrunch was overreacting, and everyone else who quit are overreacting as well. Just come back here and settle it like gentlemen (NOT referring to PSY).
