I think it's more a case of its nominally having enough members but they just don't show up to this, so it's Kotone on her own. :p

Aside from both showing some discipline of the sword, but Aikido looks to me as more hand-to-hand based when it comes to combat.

If Kotone ever has some sort of plot requirement for swordsmanship, it's going to be Iaijutsu. XD

The Hiryuu school is, at its heart, a kenjutsu school. The only people who even get to see that aspect of it are family and other, hand-picked few. However, before you're permitted to so much as /touch/ a sword, you have to learn to fight unarmed and harness your fighting spirit.

So they could totally spar. But I dunno why Kotone would go to the kendo club. By chance?
