I'm growing more and more concerned over the weather forecast. The next few days is meant to be the worst ice storm this area has seen in decades, and power outages are possible. I'd like to not be in a position where Ssarak is needed for someone else to post, when and if that happens. On a related note, does anyone have suggestion on how to keep a cold blooded creature alive without power?

If you can somehow get sunlight (Or any high intense light), try finding a good rock and let it bake. But since you're likely going to be covered by snow, the next best alternative I can imagine would be a sort of insulated den. I used a box filled with shredded newspaper. I made one for my pet snake once, and I'm somewhat certain it played a crucial part of surviving the winter. But than again, I also had power.

But if you're talking about Ssarak, I'm also fairly certain that he's large enough to produce enough body heat to survive a cold day as long as he isn't stark naked and bleeding out in the river.

Oops, I don't know why I did that. I meant to say I am sworn to destroy blackguards, but somehow I fucked up there.

Oh, he's talking about a pet? Oh, I have no idea. But that looks good.

...You DARE? Me and Leon made an agreement to meet each other and die in glorious battle, to do any less would dishonor the vow we made as fighters for our beliefs!Seriously though, anybody know where he is? I miss him.

Nope. You exterminated him. Ate him in a potato rage. Him and several others.

...Potato rage? The hell are you talking about? That's never happened...not that I can recall at least. I just remember someday I just started eating potatoes regularly...and that's all.

Yeah, I was talking about a snake. The thing is, stuff like blankets wouldn't work for a snake, because it's not a blanket that makes us warm, it's us that makes a blanket warm. Our bodies heat the air trapped between us and the blanket, insulating us, but that doesn't work for something cold blooded. It might help hold in a bit of heat, but it won't be nearly as effective. I've had this snake for probably half my life at this point, but in that entire time, my power has not went out overnight once. Never actually had to deal with it before.

Well, master Rtron, I'll gladly kill for you. Not out of any particular devotion, killing is just fun. No innocents. That's my only rule.

Free, call me what you will, but... It's on. After my nap, of course.

Eysires are warm blooded, I think. If memory serves, Eysires are true reptiles, unlike Naga. They're more like heavily mutated humans with the features of reptiles, a product of evolution in the scorched lands. Now, I could be wrong. But I think that's a tad more interesting than simple dragon-men.

Awww, even though Elite might be talking about a pet, the fact you remembered Naga have a lower body temperature makes me want to hug you!

Sorry...I literally have no experience dealing with anything cold-blooded. Most I've had is a turtle, but uh...Let's just say I ain't the best caretaker...It ran. The Turtle ran away.

Do you have a wood stove or something like it?

A friend of my down the street has a huge one that he fires wood in and it keeps his large snake rather cozy.

Hmm. I wish I knew more to help you. I've always had either a remote electrical or gas heater for my snake before he died (Natural causes), and if that wasn't available I was able to use the baked rock+insulated box trick to keep him alive during the harsher winter.

The thing about turtles is that people always underestimate them. They can be quicker than you think.

We used to have a wood stove, but not at this place. Pretty much everything is electric. I would have purchased something before, but if you're in the South and the weather forecast mentions snow, then every store immediately sells out of milk, bread, and anything related to heating.

Lovely isn't it?

The closest thing I found to help you is this but don't know if would work or not, or if even helps at all.

I also heard handwarmers can help, but I don't have one. I didn't think about warm water, though if the water heater is electric, that wouldn't work either. If worst comes to worst, the warmest thing in the house will be me. I could keep him warm all day myself, but not so much at night.
