> Borges was an Argentinian writer, notable for his short stories. He had a complex style, layered with references other literature and history, along with exploring philosophical themes. His work is respected within the literary establishment, he's often grouped with Marquez as introducing South American literature to the wider world. I'm a big fan of his, and I was thinking of using Ireneo Funes, from his story, Funes the Memorious. You can find the full text [here](http://www4.ncsu.edu/~jjsakon/FunestheMemorious.pdf) or a summary [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funes_the_Memorious). I picked him because I think there's some neat possibilities for a shut-in with a perfect memory, and because I don't want to do someone who's been done a million times before. Don't worry about saying no, I've got other ideas for characters.
I had a look at the summery and it's definitely an interesting story to say the least, may I ask what your idea for him is?
