Village Name: Coldcoast
Exports: Fish, Evolution stones (mostly water stones.), Mareep Wool, Miltank milk and meat.
Imports: Veggies, various ores, tools, furs, lumber, and fodder/thatch.
Description of Coldcoast: Built close enough to the border of Ayero for it to be a bit warmer than most Lugere villages, Coldcoast could be described as being hemmed in. With pine forests on two sides, the ocean to the north, and the mountain range the locals have dubbed "Arceus' Spikes." There isn't much room for expansion within the settlement even if they had the resources to do such a feat.
There are a few ways to get to the village but most people settle for either the mountain trail or floating up the river on a barge. But one could go through the mines within the mountains if they pleased. Despite being a village on the port and so close to Ayero the village is neglected, either the noble that owns the lands they settle on does not care, or the family has died out nobody knows as most within the settlement can't even recall a time a noble has visited the village. It's neglect has made pirating out on the seas, and bandits within the forests common occurrences. But still somehow it has a healthy trade industry with other parts within the kingdom.
The village proper is a simple design. With the farms furthest away Mareeps, Miltanks, and Tauros' happily living out there days on their farms without a care in the world, as one enters the village itself they could note that the all of the thatch huts and houses. (With the execption of the Mayors house.) Are built in a perfect semi circle around that of the storage silos and buildings of production. The biggest building in the outer ring is that of the inn where many locals who have time off spend their time drinking and complain about bandits, wives, and other such woes that bother a working man. The inner ring of the village is simplistic but it is the only part of the village that is paved with cobblestone to walk upon mostly for ease in getting to the village center where festivals are held.
As one walks further through the village they eventually hit the beach and the docks. A single solitary hut sits upon the shore a stones throw away from the bustling docks crowded with fishermen and boat captains, the docks are easily the most crowded part in the whole village but those docks are the villages lifeblood and without them there is no village.
Notable buildings and locations:
**Elyas' Smithy:**As one walks up to the smithy they can feel the heat from a good distance away as the blacksmith a frail balding man who appears to be reaching the end of his life works behind the forge. A fire in his eyes that burns hotter than the heat in the air as he works, he might look frail and a easy mark but the man doesn't seem to tire despite his old age and is known to work hard throughout the night the sounds of his hammer ringing through out the inner ring of the village.
He doesn't sell anything and he avoids making weapons, instead repairing things and building things that offer a use to the village as a whole like silverware, nails, and the like. Off to the side of the forge is little add-on that can only be described as a room. With a double bed set to one side a small range in the corner of the room and a little flower vase that decorates the only window in the room. The Smith lives a simple life but to him it does not matter, the only thing that matters to him is his work and making sure the village prospers from it.
**The Drunken Abomasnow Inn:**As one approaches the inn one would notice that it's simple and very plain the sign outside the door being thing that stands out the most. A staggering abomasnow painted on it a mug of ale in it's hand, the building itself is painted a dull rusty brown it seems to scream "Stay Away." But as one enters they are overwhelmed by the heat from the fireplace and the sounds of men drinking and gambling away their coin, the innkeeper is just as simple as the building she owns and appears to be asleep at the counter, her daughters seem to be rushing about running the kitchens, and serving drinks and food. If working the hardest put you in charge they would be the true owners of the inn.
The second story is just as simple as the rest of the building, only one room that's reserved for special guests has a proper bed, the other rooms have little more than a pallet to sleep upon.
**The Mayors House:**Built upon a small hill overlooking the village one would notice that the mayors house is the biggest building in the entire village even larger than that of the inn by a entire story. Entering the house shows that it is furnished better than any other house in the village but it is not richly so, due to this they have a much larger family than most and it's not uncommon to see all seven of the mayors children wandering about the house.
With being a mayor he has many different perks including a small garden for vegetables in the backyard, his own well and water reserve, and a study. While this sets him at odds with some of the villagers he refuses to change anything and generally tends to ignore the issue.
**The Village Wisdom's hut:**The village wisdom is the town healer and religious official, Her hut is a simple stilted hut that smells strongly of herbs and other ingredients. With a small range set to one side of the room, a simple bed on the other side, and a massive oaken table dominates the center of the room. Various papers and scrolls are scattered about it written upon them are generally weather and trade reports telling her what is in in demand and what is in abundance. As one of the few people who can read she tells them aloud in the town square the first day of every week.
Next door to the Wisdom's hut is a small chapel built from a old storage building. There she speaks with all the passion of a religious zealot of the Pokemon that created the land the 4th day of every week to anyone who will listen and generally she draws quite a flock in these dark days.
**Garet's Hut:**Built upon the beach Garet's hut shows his regimented life style, it is neat and organized with a chest set at the foot of the always tidy bed, the wooden stove cleaned spotless everyday, and his table with absolutely no clutter. Most of everything seems to be simplistic within the hut the only thing that stands out is a small sigil of a noble house further inland that gathers dust as a paperweight. Normally the former knight isn't home as he's out patrolling or training a few of the men within the village to handle a weapon properly. But if Picsis cannot follow the Magikarp is generally splashing in the shallow water not far from the front door.
**The Pine Forest:**The Pineforest is thick with trees that seem to press in on all sides and it only gets worse as one proceeds further into the woods, the needles that fell from the trees seem to soften all footfalls and disguise the sounds of one sneaking through the woods be it wild pokemon or cutthroat. Normally one stays on the path due to it being much safer and it follows the river which is the only source of fresh water for miles around.
**The Mountain Caves:**The mountain caves are actually a mine where the people of Coldcoast mine evolution stones of all types and variety's which for some reason are in abundance within the cave. Tunnels snake all throughout the mountain and some aren't man made instead being made by the wild onixs within the cave. But the caves have also become a source of superstition among the more religious who fear a certain part of the cave where men enter and those who come out generally come out babbling loons or don't come out at all, but until further notice that part of the cave has been blocked off and no one is allowed to enter without permission.
Even though evolution stones are highly sought after by nobles so they can evolve their Pokemon and be the talk of the court it still isn't enough to put Coldcoast on the map and isn't enough to merit any type of protection from the kingdom.
