The candle wick caught fire quickly, and the light spread in a small area around it. The mirror reflected the light back, but not much else happened.
If one were to look up, perhaps they would notice the brief shadow in the mirror with one arm wrapped around the reflection of the cord of the lowered orb and one foot balancing on the reflection of the orb itself. Kido was watching the flame, so he never saw, but the shadow seemed to shake its head and sigh. <<Why would there be a lighting system if you just remove the candles for individual use?>> The shadow vanished almost faster than it appeared after only a couple of seconds of being there, but it seemed to leave behind the feeling of having spoken, despite its silence.
After a few seconds of watching the flame, Kido eventually looked up, seeming a bit confused. "I don't think that's quite right, somehow."
