I've got a couple scenarios fitting those parameters, and unfortunately I'm writing them again because my mouse fucked up. Yay. There can be a LITTLE fanservice depending on when they catch the two of them off guard.
Early morning, Sakura is wrapping up her shower and comes out (can either be dressed or towel, depending. I see the former, towel can still be on her head) while Kakashi is returning from downstairs to tell the staff they're getting ready to depart. He comes in and returns to find her, maybe surprised because he thought she'd still be washing up. This COULD create a cute and awkward moment to help ease the tension of this 'down to business' atmosphere, since... MAYBE Sakura packed some awesome shampoo? I don't know, I'm spitballing here xD and from the corner of his eye he sees the sun bearing down on some metal in the distance. A congregation of enemy ninja has formed on the rooftops across from them and have drawn kunai with what Kakashi can make out as explosive tags. Before he can even warn her, they are thrown, and he throws himself on top of her and brings her down to the ground, shielding her with his own body as the kunai fly through and small explosions ring out. The dust and debris clears, thankfully Kakashi is okay, and to his joy Sakura succeeded in coming out of it unharmed. The enemy can either quickly retreat, to which Kakashi will need to either send Pakkun and the ninken to trace their scent and help guide them to wherever they had come from, or the ninja try to attack them. Kakashi brings the fight outdoors and Sakura quickly joins him, resulting in their swift defeat, and potentially revealing them to be reanimated corpses Kabuto used. This may confirm his involvement because Kakashi's seen the jutsu before, but there's no use following a corpse by scent, nor can they talk, so they still need to go to Tanzaku. We can switch details in and out for this one.
Same scenario but Sakura's concluded her shower and Kakashi is still downstairs settling the fee and handling the business of checking them out. The ninja this time are the real deal, and with one being sent to Sakura who they determine as the weaker one, several go after Kakashi before he can make it back to the room. Sakura quickly handles business because the training she managed to get in with Kakashi has paid off--ESPECIALLY the expecting the unexpected portion, which EASILY increased her awareness during downtime-- and she rejoins him to wherever the fight is taking place. This can conclude with either them capturing one and the others forced to retreat, while the ninja captured dies before he can talk via a seal of some kind, or they all get away but Sakura ends up getting injured during the scuffle and they use that to flee. If they talk, it could drastically reduce their search time of Taro and the children. I think if you wanted to go with this one, we can switch some details around like in scenario 1.
Other than those, all I can think of is scenario 2, only the ninja that confronts Sakura alone is Kabuto. Why? I'm not sure. He could easily capture her if he wanted, but it would put Sakura out of commission too long and the roleplay would need a fast forward to him getting her back, something I don't want happening like this. Either he has personal interest in her as Kakashi's remaining student, or this is some infatuation or something. Maybe he just wants to taunt her about Sasuke while Kakashi is indisposed.
