I don't know what NPC villains means, but I originally didn't set out to makes this a Heroes vs. Villains thing.

Among the hundred or so subjects, moste of them died from overloading, and others where two weak. However by the time that ethereal was augmented, a psionic dampening helmet was created. As he left the augmenting room, they slammed the helmet on, keeping him alive, making him the first successful test subject. This earned him the number s1 and the code name ethereal, however it costed his memories. To make things worse, they soon discovered that his powers cause echos in his mind, disallowing him to speak.Realizing that he was more or less useless, they removed him from the project. He now wanders New York City in a red robe, hiding his disfigured body.Appearance: Other: United

An NPC is a Non-Player Character, a character that is not controlled by any of the RPers, or other players. For example, if you are playing Halo, single player, you would be controlling the main person. The people you are shooting at, the AI, are NPCs, as they are not controlled by any players. In pokemon, you'd be playing as a trainer, and all the other trainers that run in your way and ask you to battle (more like 'force' you to battle) are NPCs, as they are not players. I mean, what player would stand in the middle of a park for hours on end!!!??? xD
