Chris smiles back at her. "Nice to meet you Ashlyn." He looks around a bit and smiles more. "This is nice. Being around other people like me." He shakes his head and looks back at her, his smile not leaving now. "So what is your power? Bet it's something amazing." Him trying to be nice since now these are people that are nice to him, not like the ones hunting him.

Ashlyn giggled. "I'm like the bards of legend. If I play a song, it has magical effects. It helped calm down all the nervous people earlier."

Chris chuckles as he hears it and smiles at her. "Well then I guess I can call you a legend of the present day." He smiles at her more, she seems really nice in his mind.

James yawned as he noticed Ashlyn talking to some random guy, and his yawn caused the ground to shake, as if a minor earthquake was happening. Of course, Ashlyn, being as clumsy as she is, fell over, off the spot she was sitting on. She sat up again and glared at James. "Dammit brother! Can't I talk to a cute guy without you screwing it up?"

Chris would catch her before she fell over, but blushes a bit when she calls him cute. "Well in my opinion you are cuter then me." He looks over at James. "Can he talk normally?"

Ashlyn blushed as he said she was cuter, then looked at him. "No. He can't. His power automatically activates every time he talks. He gets a sore throat really often though, because there's so much power flowing past his throat at once."

Chris smiles and helps her to her feet. "Thank you, and I never lie. You are very cute." He then walks over to James and smiles. "Nod to me if you want me to... may I do something to help you?"

Ashlyn blushed brighter as Chris said she was cute again. When he went over and asked James if he could help, James shook his head. He'd grown used to not talking.

Julia: "Um okay." She took a seat near Devon. "If no one else is going, I guess I will. My name is Julia, I'm 18, and it's pretty lame but I can change my appearance on my will - you're looking at my natural born appearance by the way - and I can also adapt to my surroundings." She got a clear bowl of water and submerged her head in it. She pushed her hair away from her neck and moved her fingers along her neck so they could see the gills that had grown. Soon the pulled her head out. Her hair was soaked and plastered to her neck, but when she brushed it back again, the gills were gone. "My adaptations are never permanent though."

Watching with wide eyes, Devon couldn't help but find the whole demonstration fascinating. "Wow...you gotta show me how that works sometime..." Honestly, it reminded the teen of some of the things the elder dragons had shown off before. And that would eventually be learned...maybe in a few years or so...if the younger dragon could just get through the arts that were already causing trouble... Which was, to say, not for a long time at this rate. Well...they wanted me to go socialize with humans instead of staying with the family for training...not my fault...right?

Chris nods as he understands. "I just wanted to help." He puts out his hand to shake James's hand. "My name is Chris, and you must be James. It's nice to meet you and hope you have a good time here at camp."

Julia smiled modestly. "I don't really fully understand it myself...it's not something one can just look up...but if I had to guess, I think my DNA is able to mutate at a faster rate than normal, perhaps on command, and it can react to my surroundings as like a danger instinct or something. Like, I don't have gills now because I can breathe in the oxygen using my lungs, but submerged in water like that, I can't just breathe in oxygen, I have to convert water to oxygen if I want to stay alive, so my body makes it happen to keep itself alive. At least that's my guess. I'm no scientist, so I don't know."

Chris smiles afterwards and heads back to his spot next to Ashlyn. He smiles at her as he thinks a bit. "Now... where were we? Oh ya I was talking about how cute you are."

Chris smiles and blushes a bit at her saying he is cute. "Well I still believe you are cute." Was he really having a small nice bicker with a girl about how cute he was? Well oh well, he thought in his mind, she is really nice and this bicker is nice too.

Ashlyn used her long dark hair to hide her face so Chris couldn't see her blushing even brighter. "Nuuu..." was all she said, really shyly.
