Character Origin & Backstory: Warren Worthington III was your average rich kid with all the spoils and such privileged people were used to. That was until the day of his 13th birthday when he noticed something growing out of his back. One year later he had fully functioning wings, and despite his father's protests he used them to fly. Upon learning of other mutants and the Xavier School, Warren checked the place out for himself and even enrolled. However after about a month or two his anxiety to do something more kicked into gear and he headed out on his own. He had dreams of becoming a costumed adventurer but kept his head down and his wings tucked into his overcoat for the next few years while moving up in his father's company and attending college. After buying up as many shares in the company as possible, Warren took great pride in taking control of the company once he had over half the company in his back pocket. In nearly the exact same way as his father took the company from Warren Worthington I no less.
Still going out for a nightly fly every so often, Warren heard the screams of a young woman one night who was in the process of being mugged by two grungy looking men. When Warren touched down and saved the woman from the attackers, she broke down into tears claiming God had sent one of his agents to save her. Rumors began about an Avenging Angel defending the citizens of NYC. After seeing costumed heroes in the media like Capt. America and Spiderman, Warren made a costume of his own and took to the skies more regularly as... the ARCHANGEL.
Powers and Abilities (What can your character do? What can't they do?): Archangel has wings granting him the ability to fly as well as enhanced physical attributes [strength, speed, endurance, durability]. There is also something in his blood that heals his wounds quicker, making him able to heal from serious injury within days and grow new wings within a few months if they're completely removed. He just heals quicker, but he doesn't have the OP'ed Wolverine/Deadpool healing factors. At some point later on I'd like to give him a flaming sword, I just don't know where he'll get it or how strong it will be.
Sample Story Arcs: Give 2-3 ideas on where you want to go with your character.
Angel of the City - Just an introductory arc where he teams with another more well known hero to take down an enemy. Ideally this would be one of Marvel's big guns.
Sinister Revelation - I'd like to introduce Sugar Man as a scientist named Johnathan Sweet working for Worthington Labs who had a secret agenda with Archangel's father. The secret? Warren's father had Sweet trying to clone him another son but without wings. After Warren takes over the company and Sugar Man loses his funding after Warren discovers his father and Sweet's secret, it leads into the next arc...
Angel of Death - My version of Archangel will meet his nemesis, Sugar Man's greatest experiment, the Angel of Death [or just Death for short]. Blue skin, metal wings [cause originally he was cloned without them!], but with the look of the newer younger Angel's evil self...
SEEN HERE.Sample Post (This is used as an introduction to your writing – try to keep it to around three paragraphs or more and try to include dialogue):
"If only my father had experienced flying he would've seen why I snuck out so much when I was younger. The wind in my face and flowing through my hair, the taste and smell of moisture in the clouds the higher I fly... it's all just amazing..." Warren thought as he flew in the clouds in the early morning hours of the day.
The sun was rising over the skyscrapers of New York City. Archangel finally saw his destination point in the Worthington Industries building about six blocks down from Williams Innovations. His muscles contracted, and his wings folded inwards as he touched down on the roof of the building. In a secret stash he found some clothes he'd put away for just this sort of thing. After dressing himself in more casual clothes he tossed on his overcoat. Most people assumed he wore one because he was rich and that's the sort of thing they wear over their expensive suits. Most people assumed Warren was just another one of those douchebags. Of course, he wore it to conceal his wings...
After a long and boring shareholder's meeting, Warren flipped through some monthly reports from their pharmaceutical division. A lab in New Jersey seemed to be spending quite a bit of money on materials and equipment. Nearly everything was signed by a Doctor Johnathan Sweet.
"I'm going to look into this a bit later, right now I need to get out and stretch my wings..." he thought.
