[IC] City Comes to the Country (Tyler Night and Whitelily)

[Tyler Night]

"If we are burning sun light at noon we are burning it all the time."

He says with a smile before standing up.

"But yeah, let's go."

He begins walking with her to the bike rental store across the street. He steps to the counter.

"2 bikes please."

He says pulling out his money to pay. Taking the money they pull 2 bikes from the rack and hand him his change.

"They need to be back by 6pm, you will be charged for another day if they aren't in on time."

He nods.

"Alright, we should be back in about 5 and a half hours."

He takes his bike and smiles at Ele.

"Alright, the voyage begins."

Taking her bike, Ele excitedly wheeled it closer to the street and climbed on. Today promised to be full of adventures and fun, plus, it was completely new to Ele who loved learning new things. Pushing off on her bike, Ele realized that she hadn't been on one in years, but as she gained speed her body took over and was soon smoothly sailing down the road.

"Okay, which site first?"

Ele called over to Tyler, glancing his way for a moment.

[Tyler Night]

"I think we should bike up to the grand hotel then just bike around the entire island and do the tours after we get back. Should take us about 90 minutes with the stops."

Staying at her side he smiles.

"We have a 5 minute ride up to the road to the hotel."

"Then let's go!"

Pumping her legs to go faster, Ele pedaled along the road, following the signs to the hotel. It wasn't long, but Ele's muscles were unused to having to pedal again, so she was soon slowing down as they came to the front of the hotel. Panting slightly, Ele leaned over her bike handles,

"Remind me to pace myself! That was a workout!"

[Tyler Night]

He slows down and parks the bike after they arrive.

"Never actually gone into the place so you and I will see it for the first time together."

He says to her with a smile, walking in with his arm behind her. As they enter the interior is as grand as the outside, looking around he notices other tourists doing the same thing. He looks at Ele and smiles.

Totally speechless as they walked into the hotel, Ele's mouth dropped open as she took in the beautiful building. It was huge, and almost completely original. Putting her arm around Tyler, Ele spied a glimpse of water through one of the windows,

"You can see the lake!"

She gasped, hurrying to the window. Outside was a huge porch that gave an uninterrupted view of the lake, as well as the beautiful landscape around the porch.

"It's like a fairytale! This could be a palace!"

[Tyler Night]

"You can see the lake from every corner of the hotel. There is nothing taller than the hotel on the island so you can see everything."

Chuckling he nods.

"Maybe we could make a story around the island, use pictures from the island as inspiration or as actual pictures in the story."

His mind now racing as he thinks about story making once again.

"Oh, just imagine. Creatures great and small included, your paintings illustrating the story book. Making knick knacks based on the characters of the story. Creating our own world."

Giggling, Ele nodded and wrapped her arms around Tyler's middle as they walked around the first floor of the hotel, and eventually on to the porch.

"It could be an island kingdom, where a great party is being held for the people. Other kingdoms have been invited, including the kingdoms at the bottom of the lake."

Leaning back against the porch rail, Ele closed her eyes and imagined the book,

"It could be a rhyming book, so then the words could be made up!"

[Tyler Night]

"We could have the creatures of the sky and river, creatures of the land and lake. The fairies of the waterfalls and trees."

Looking over at her he smiles.

"Geez, now you have me wanting to write stories again."

He laughs and hugs her, giving her a kiss.

"This is truly a magical place isn't it?"

Kissing him back, Ele put her hands on Tyler's shoulders and teased him,

"A fighter, writer, car man, gun enthusiast, and a fantastic boyfriend? Jack of all trades!"

Pulling Tyler down to kiss him again, Ele felt giddy with how much fun she was having.

[Tyler Night]

He smiles at her when she pulls him down for a second kiss.

"A nerd, can't forget a nerd."

He laughs and picks her up, holding onto her.

"Maybe when we work out a long term plan we can stay here and bring some painting supplies."

Ele wrapped her legs around Tyler's middle when he picked her up, and she smiled when he mentioned staying at the hotel. It would be like a fairytale come true, and to create in the very spot that was to be the inspiration made excitement bloom in Ele's chest.

"That would be so fun! Right after we: set up the shop and gallery and fix up the bus/camper! Our list of fun things to do is growing!"

Rubbing her nose against Tyler's affectionately, Ele sighed contentedly.

[Tyler Night]

He holds onto her smiling.

"Gonna have to plan lots of stuff for sure."

He says to her with a rub of the nose.

"Now a downhill ride after we get out of here. Should get up to 25 or 30 and maintain that speed for a while."

"That sounds utterly terrifying and dangerous..."

Ele said, leaning back to look at Tyler more fully before setting her feet on the ground,

"Let's do it."

Taking him by the hand, Ele speed walked back through the hotel and to their bikes where she hopped on and waited for Tyler. When he was on, Ele took off towards the downhill road.

[Tyler Night]

He follows her out and hops on his bike once again. He pedals the bike up to speed, kicking up the kick stand in the process and catching up. Cresting the hill he pedals faster as they hit the downhill, letting the momentum carry him he comes flying down the hill and to the main road. Tilting the bike he nearly touches his knee to the pavement as they make the turn. Letting the speed continue to carry him down the road.

"Having fun sweetie?"

He calls out with a smile.

Not as reckless as Tyler, Ele hung back and braked a good portion of the way down the hill. Sure she had biked the hills of San Francisco, but this hill was huge even for her. Catching up to Tyler at the bottom, Ele smiled and nodded,

"Tons!"

As their momentum slowed on the straight main road, Ele kicked out her legs and laughed, letting the adrenaline rush pulse through her.

[Tyler Night]

Laughing he stands up and continues to coast, eventually the slow enough to need to pedal again, looking over at her he says.

"Couple hills around here are much faster than that last one."

Continuing to pedal they reach the wooded area on the island, passing several small waterfalls.

"They have some big waterfalls near here, about 25 feet tall. Feel like a walk when we get there?"

As they zoomed past the waterfalls, Ele tried to remember them in her mind, but when Tyler mentioned stopping at the big ones, she nodded enthusiastically.

"Heck yes! They'd make beautiful paintings and pictures!"

As the next hill came up, Ele stood up on her pedals and pushed up the steep hill,

"Okay, these aren't as bad as in the city! Someday I'll make you bike those suckers and you'll think these are a breeze!"

[Tyler Night]

"There is one road in the U.P. called Kirby Hill, it is half a mile long at 53 degrees. It is nuts."

He says with a chuckle.

"When we get a weekend away we will do a U.P. Tour and stop at lots of amazing places."

"As long as we don't decide to do it on a bike!"

Ele huffed and puffed until they crested the hill and coasted down the other side. It was like that until they arrived at the waterfalls and Ele managed to get off her bike without falling. Her legs felt like Jello and Ele braced herself against a tree,

"Oh this is going to hurt tomorrow!"
