Name: Zargo Zackarian
Age: 126
Gender: male
Appearance:
Species: Gnome
Powers/Abilities:
Master Alchemist
As a master of chemistry and meta-chemistry, Zargo can create quite stupifying potions, and has a vast amount of knowledge of both a variety of materials and ingrediants, and the potions made with them. Although it requires an hour or two and the right ingredients, Zargo could potentially perform any number of astonishing feats, mainly to do with either chemistry or ancient magi-tech.
Master of Illusion
As fey beings, gnomes have the natural ability to step through the Fey Realm, and back into our world, at will. This allows them to teleport, as it were, although it is not by any means instantaneous, and can be quite tiring. Furthermore, Gnomes can make themselves almost invisible if they wish to do so, which has allowed them to live so close to humans even in modern society without being discovered.
Items: An alchemy kit, goggles, and a variety of thick old tomes.
History: Zargo was an enterprising student of the Gnome College of Magic and Alchemy, aiming to become Grandmaster. However, the school violently disagreed with many of Zargo's views on the treatment of ancient magitech, specifically the works of the Aetherians. Whereas the school wished to keep the secrets locked away, fearing a repeat of the cataclysm so long ago, Zargo believes that age has wisened us. He would reinvent Aetherian technology, rebuilding the pinnacle of magical and technological knowledge that they once represented, damn the risks. Unfortunately for him, this got him kicked from the College.
After being rudely dismissed, Zargo took it upon himself to unlock the secrets of the Aetherians, He scrounged up basic materials, creating potions and selling them to the public, entertaining both magical clientele, and humans that wished to dabble in the world of magic. He moved often, living off stale bread and water, before he could finally fund an expedition to the Aetherian ruins, with an escort to guard him from the Demons that still roamed there, or the occasional remains of a magical barrier. While many of his finds were interesting, Zargo's greatest succes was finding a nearly undamaged Titan, which obviously fell out of use during the Battle of the Golden Bridge, one of the first skirmishes between Demons and Aetherians.
Having succeeded at getting the rough machine working, Zargo decided to return. However, he had lost five men on his previous trip, and there are only so many souls willing to risk their lives in the Aetherian ruins. Furthermore, taking along the Titan battle golem would attract the attention of every demon in the area. He'd be absolutely swarmed beyond all hope of survival. Thus, Zargo was forced to put his expeditioning on hold. However, he had made a start. He'd made good finds, and he'd managed to interest a human company in the properties of magic, which was how he was recieving funding for his works. As humans, they would pay thousands for a simple Persuasion potion, or a potion of Invisibility.
Now, Zargo seeks out other adventurers brave enough to dare the ruins, or other traces of battles that have been lost in history. His more recent findings have led him to believe that an Aetherian outpost could have stood at this very point, which is the reason for him moving in together with Titan. He bought a house, happily convenienced by the fact that the residents were all magical beings, removing the need for disguise.
Crush/Relationship: None. He's too obsessed with his work for a lasting relationship.
Friends/Family: His family died of old age, mostly. Zargo's brother still lives, out there somewhere, but they had a falling out.
Other: Absolutely despises country music.
