Ame's eyes were blurred and dark, after the boys had finished with her. Branded her, cut her pretty much to ribbons, worse than they had even when they'd first "punished" her on the streets. The blood poured out onto the rocks where she'd been shackled, until the whole area around her was wet.
The darkness was encroaching and she knew it was the end. With her last bit of magic she reached out into the amulet still around her neck, searching. Shadow, help me. Come back and help me, and help Celaena and the rest of them too. She sent the thought out, felt the amulet warming around her neck. And then she didn't feel much of anything as the world around her went black and her breathing stopped entirely.
And at last she found peace.
She'd not seen her fifth birthday. But she'd brought a queen to a throne, brought an empire crashing down, and raised the memories of a hundred thousand magic users.
And wasn't that more than enough for any one lifetime?

the blood rune on Shadow's amulet flashed and then faded away from the amulet altogether. as soon as the flash had finished the shadow's behind Ame formed into the shape of Shadow with all of his equipment. he turned and looked around the area and then saw Ame's dead body. so young and to be tortured this bad well he would teach who ever did this a lesson. he saw three boys each one covered in blood. he drew his sword and walked forward. he did a quick magic trace on them and found the blood to be that to the girl. he turned to them and then grabbed one of them and threw him into the wall and said " tell me what did the child do to deserve death? for i know what you have done to earn death."

The boys, scared out of their wits, but willing to show how foolish they were (not the one who hit the wall, since he was out cold, but one of the other two) stood up, raising their hands. "She cursed one of us, she did! When we first lived. She was a little thing, just as cute as a button, right? Well, we showed her mercy, took her into our family. And she hated us, tried to flee so many times. Naturally, we tracked her down, cause we were concerned, right? And finally, she was maybe two, and she looked at our friend with those purple eyes, and he died horribly. She musta cursed him or something. And we tried to avenge his death, cut her up till she was just as bloody as he was. Well, somehow someone saved her, and then she killed another bunch of our friends, and the girl who saved her killed us that first time. And we just got our revenge thanks to that witch who brought us back, and now we'll be able to teach her a lesson in the Other realms."
Ame, drifting in black space, since she was the first person to die after Dahlia's spell, reached out into Shadow's mind with a tiny whisper. Thank you, Shadow. Don't believe them, please... Please.

" don't worry child they have no sway in my work here." he thought back. he then glared at them and said " well i have one thing to say to you. when i send you to the other side you will never see anyone again. i'm stronger than you would think. you say she cursed your friend. well how about i trap your souls in limbo." he raised his hands and then muttered a few words and then smiled. he drew his dagger and cut the left thumb on all three of them and stepped back as they fell to the ground dead. their souls would forever wander in limbo.

Sol waited outside and then walked in to speak with shadow. " i see that you have been brought back and you would like to know whats going on right?" "Yes i would" they sat down and talked for a while and what sol said filled in parts of shadow's memory that was missing. he nodded and then they spilt ways. he would find sol later in his life but for now he needed to help the others. " Ame do you know where the others are?" he sent to her " this will be the last i need from you."

Her thought would be barely audible. I think they were on the main road somewhere just outside of Rifthold. Oh, shoot. Finn teleported them to the Terrasen hospital, Aery and Celaena...I... I killed Rowan and Ansel... She paused for a moment, feeling her contact with the mortal world slipping. Thank you for coming for me, Shadow. Tell Aery I love her, and that I'm safe now. Don't... Don't tell her about how I died. Please. Just tell her that I'm safe and no one can ever hurt me again.

Shadow nodded and then sent back " if she pushes i will just say that i was to late to save you. have a peaceful rest young one." he focused his mental abilities so that he could get his magic at its full. he then located the rest of the group and used his magic to move himself from his current location to theirs. he faded from where he was and then appeared where they were. he was out side but Finn would be able to detect him and would likely come to to talk with him or try to kill him.

Finn sensed another presence out side and began to walk slowly out side and seen Shadow, from what Finn could see Shadow was covered in blood and holding a sword "Well, as much as I'd wished you'd left with me, I was happy-- well, relieved, really-- to hear that you and Celaena had made your peace here. Whatever my brother's faults, he's always been moved by acts of loyalty. As have I. That CHILD SHOULD STILL BE ALIVE not dead." Finn's face twisted in to anger but he kept his cool composure. "I will not attack you or spell you, but you should have brought that child back... Think about your actions and contemplate them to me soon, Now Go shadow, If you leave for good I will not miss you HOW COULD YOU HAVE FALLEN SO FAR." He shouted

Shadow looked at him and then said " Yes your right Ame should still be alive. So why the hell did you not help her. why did she have to die to bring me back. What use are you when you preach about the good of everyone. i put myself in limbo and She brought me back to help her. but by the time she brought me back she was already dead. i would have brought her body with me but i'm not going to do that to Aery the wounds would shatter the rest of her sanity. i lay the blame for Ame's death on your head." shadow said calmly back to him. " She is at peace now but can you be at peace knowing you had the power to save her and let her die. i will not leave because the last thing that Ame asked me to do was help the group again so i will do it for her."

"I was saving Celaena's brother, So I was occupied." Finn walked past him shoving him with his shoulder and then looked at Ame's body, and sighed and then opened a connection with ame "You know, over the years, I've had my share of friends, enemies, lovers, losses, and triumphs. With time, they all begin to run together, but you will find the real moments are vibrant. The rest just fades away. Your pain will fade, dear.." He said and looked to Shadow "You have no right to pin this death on me... You were meant to stop Dahlia from summoning the dead. and You failed, guess that runs in the family huh!" He said and then spelled shadow to be on this world for eternity then walked away.

Shadow growled low at the jibe at his family. they had died while training him but that gave this man no ground to make a statement like that. he felt the magic and didn't even care enough to counter it. it was a weaker spell and he could have gotten rid of it if he wanted. his magic was a lot more powerful from his time in limbo. he turned and walked to a tree and sighed. he sat down and then drew his lance to check that everything was still okay with it. he did this with all of his weapons and his armor and potions. by the time he was done his anger had faded away. he stood and walked towards the building again.

Shadow thought back to the words that Finn had said to him. "You were meant to stop Dahlia from summoning the dead. and You failed, guess that runs in the family huh!" well if they wanted the dead put back down he would do that with some ease. he sent out a magic trace to find all of the lines other than his that had interruptions in there life lines. a gap that showed they had been dead at one point. when he had found them all he focused on severing the line that had been restored the result drained him quite a bit but he was about to put them all down again. he felt the effects try to hit him but he countered it and protected the rest of the living group from the effects.

Ailen slowly opened his eyes wondering what the hell just happened. He stood shakingly and leaned against the wall walking towards the exit of the wicked place. The fresh air hit Ailen's face and he exhaled heavily as his body adjusted to the peaceful surrounding. As he examined the view his eyes came across two men conversating about something. Then suddenly one of them walked away while the other shouted. Ailen retrieved his sword. He just remembered that he was In a witch's asylum and those two dudes could be warlocks. Ailen walked slowly towards Shadow holding his sword in a defensive position. "Friend or For!" He shouted stepping closer to Shadow.

Shadow turned and looked at the man walking closer to him. he shook his head and then said " i'm what ever you want me to be. just be warned that i can kill you with out even trying. i don't like killing those who have yet to earn it. from what i have been told you have not earned my wrath and you can live if you want. but if you try to attack me with that sword i will not let you live because i don't let those who attack me live. Now is there anything else that you want?" he reached behind his shoulder and grabbed his own sword and got it ready just incase he would need it.

Ailen sheath his sword and smiled."Wow you're really persuasive." He walked towards the mysterious man throwing his hands into his pockets. "So....weird dude(Shadow) do you happen to have a way to get around?" Ailen normally would walk to his destination but he was felling really tired and he didn't fell like getting ambused on the streets again by thugs.

Shadow looked the man over and then sighed " Yes i have the use of magic but i'm not your personal transport so try not to make it a habit of needing help getting around." he then stopped and sighed again " Sorry for being a jerk its just that i'm having a really bad day. i come back from limbo to help someone and they are already dead and then that jerk insults my family and my honor." Shadow says glaring off after Finn. " so what can i help you with right now and what is your name? I'm Shadow i have been with Celaenas group for a little while before i put myself into limbo."

Celaena looked around the room and instantly recognized it, The great terrasen hospital, then she looked at the windows and light was shining through them, she needed to get back to Adarlan for everyones sake to protect people and complete contracts to gain notoriety and the same goes with Aery. The poor thing " We are in Terrasen. "

"Why are we in t-terrasen, Celaena?" Aery asked, pitifully, sitting against the wall with her head between her knees. "W-why d-d-did Finn b-bring us h-here? A-and where are A-Ame and S-S-Silly?"
Tell her the truth, Celaena. But gently.Ame said. And don't tell her how I... died. Just tell her that I decided I needed to be with Silly and the rest of my street family.

I can't Ame it will hurt me so much please don't make me do this, A witch can from the other side can interfere with this world if you haven't got strength, I'll have Finn try a ressurection. If that fails I wish a perfect life over there, daughter, I wish you were alive, I'll miss you my daughter.

But I don't want to come back. Not when it hurts so much. In four and a half years of life I spent two and a half of them at the hands of torturers. And I won't let them have any more of me. Ame sighed, tears streaming down her cheeks in the spirit-world. Shadow will have to tell her, then. He's the one who found my body and avenged my death to let me pass through to the Peaceful Realms. I love you, Celaena. Sister-mother-friend. I'll miss you. and then she broke the connection.

Shadow had waited for a response from the man in front of him but all he got was silence the man looked like he had fallen asleep while talking to him. Shadow shook his head and then walked around him and went to the doors of the hospital. he only knew it was a medical building of some kind. he opened the doors and went in. he asked where he could find Celaena and Aery. when they told him where to go he went started to walk through the halls trying to find the room.
