Lila saw Misty going for a rabbit and sat down to wait while she made the kill. "Good job," She said, standing and walking again. "Fish will be swimming up the rivers and creeks soon so if we absolutely had to, we could catch fish but we would also be competing with the bears." The bears were actually a preferred neighbor over the tigers, they generally ambled about to eat the berries and small mammals and then the fish when they migrated for spawning.

[Irisity]

Newlyne pecked at the frozen stream near his den. "Come on," he whined. "It's spring, you should be melting already!" A fish scurried under the surface, cause him to scratch at the ice with more oersistance. All he had eaten for the past few months were rats and the occasional small elk, and he was really starting to crave more.

[Ancient Amen]

Postremo saw them head back and he started to smell the air for the familiar smell of Alkah. He found it and started to swiftly move through the woods trying not to make too much noise. Finally He found Alkah and said, "We have to hurry back to the pack there's...humans out here."

Klondike returned to the den as well, with Amber. He thought to himself about the recent events. The strange smell, the rabbits, and... he cut himself short to see a rabbit. He charged after it, grabbed the little creature, and wrestled with it, almost playing with the doomed mammal. He ended its misery when he bit its neck. "I got us some more meat!" For the first time in months, he was enthusiastic about it, as evidenced by the wagging of his tail.

[Whitewolf]

Misty returned to the dens with Lila and then crawled inside with the rabbit still in her mouth. She lay down on her side and dropped the rabbit onto the soft ground of her warm comfortable den. She started to eat some of the rabbit, but not all of it, wanting to save some for later.

[Polaris North]

Renzo watched as the young ones crawled to their respective dens. There were still others who were outside so he still opted to keep watch. He has not seen the Alpha Male as well so he must be outside. His senses still cautious in everything he picked up, he sat there almost motionless as he stood guard.

Lila managed to catch herself a small rabbit on the way back, padding into the clearing and plopping herself down near Renzo. "Care to share?" She asked, nosing her rabbit.

[Polaris North]

"It's all yours hunter. You earned it." Renzo said with a nod, gesturing her that it was alright for her to eat it herself. "I've already ate." The vole was actually enough for him so he didn't mind. "Anything suspicious happening?" He asked as he looked around.

[GhostWing]

Lila nodded and started eating, pausing and licking around her mouth when he asked about anything suspicious. "Yes, there's a pack of humans not far from here setting up temporary dens," She said.

[Polaris North]

"Humans? Well they haven't shown themselves for quite a while now." Renzo said as he looked at the young wolf. "They would have to leave eventually then. Does everyone know about this?" The Elder asked.

[GhostWing]

"I was just starting to hunt with the patrols the last time they came close like this," She said, pushing the rabbit away, no longer hungry. "And maybe they'll leave but they could also attempt to stay. Misty, Postremo, Klondike and Amber know. Postremo went out to go find the other hunting parties while he sent Misty and I back here."

[Polaris North]

"Ah yes, I remember that time." Renzo said. He was still young back then and often went on hunts with the others. At least the humans did not do any damage. "Prostremo what?" He growled as he looked at the forest again. "He went on alone while the humans are near?"

[GhostWing]

Lila looked to the wolf and nodded. "Yes, Why isn't you don't go on the patrols anymore?" She asked and then sighed as he growled. "Yes he went alone, but it's not my place to argue with the alpha, remember?"

[Polaris North]

"I'm too old they say." Renzo replied. "It's better that I stay here rather than go out and risk myself getting injured." He actually longed to go back and hunt. He went back to his calm demeanor. "Yes, I know but still... that's risky. He should know that being an alpha, he should at least have one other wolf with him. If he disappears, the whole pack will be left in disarray."

[GhostWing]

"Too old, you're only a year older than me, you're not that old," Lila said. "Which is why Misty assumes total alphaship until Postremo has returned or a new alpha is selected. We have survived worse, we will survive this."

[Polaris North]

"That's what they say. Besides, I've been injured remember? The small fight with a rogue tiger left me limping for more than a year." Renzo continued. "Alright, we will survive if Postremo ever disappears but the pack would get affected emotionally. It hurts to lose a member, does it not?"

[GhostWing]

"I remember, I was there," Lila said, resting her head on her paws. "Of course it hurts, it always hurts. Especially when it's one we're close to." Lila had lost her brother over the winter, he had fallen through the thin sheet of ice that coated the river.

[Whitewolf]

Misty lay down on her stomach and rested her head on the ground as she gazed at the mouth of the den, she hoped that Postremo and the other members of the pack would return soon. She felt that she should do something, but what was there for her to do but wait? After a few moments of waiting, she got to her feet and then left the den to check on those who were at the dens.

After getting Alkah and notifying other hunting parties that they must return he started to head back as well. He sniffed the air to just make sure nobody else was around but something caught his attention. It was the smell of the humans which he knew not to head in that direction since it might be too dangerous. He walked back through the forest and into the clearing where everybody was. He spotted Renzo and walked up to him to see if he knew about the humans yet,"How are you doing Renzo...I'm guessing you heard about the humans so what do you think about it." He said to him

[Polaris North]

"See? Postremo has been a good leader and it would hurt everyone if he dies, especially Misty." Renzo said as he looked at the young one. Lila is a good wolf. She would grow up to be a great hunter despite her small stature, Renzo could see it happening. He looked at Postremo, sighing as he did. He bowed his head at his presence. "You shouldn't risk going alone Postremo, you should at least have taken another wolf with you as you searched for the others but that is in the past. I am doing fine though." He said, replying to the Alpha Male's question. "The humans will pass, as they always have. If they ever get close to our territory, we should attack to defend ourselves if it comes to that. As always, we should attack in the night if we ever think of permanently erasing them from our sights." Renzo then looked back, deeper in the forest. "But we must be careful. Those 'things' they carry are very dangerous."
