He looked around and salvaged what they could and then went over to her "not much here but it'll keep us going. Anyway, England sounds nice, I've always wanted to go there. So, what did you do for a living back home?" he asked doing some last checks.

Aaliyah leaned against the car with her arms crossed, watching him. "I was a dance instructor back in England. Did some side jobs here and there for people that dealt with computers." She slid over the topic, not wanting to divulge her side jobs.

"What about you?"

He listened to her speak as he finished looking for things. He replied "not much, I worked full time at a clothing store at the mall. That's actually all I've done all my life. I'm not that interesting either to be honest but anyway... What are you hobbies?" he asked as he went back to the car with her.

Aaliyah giggled when he called himself not interesting. "I'm sure your not that un-interesting." She teased. "And I love dancing, video games, cooking and reading mostly." She said after a bit of contemplation.

He smiled a little after she spoke "haha thank you, and that's interesting, so, let's get going then shall we?" he said getting back in the car waiting for her. He still needed to find them a place to camp for the night but he was sure they'd find somewhere soon. "So, I'm sure you have a lot of friends back home huh?" he asked. Wasn't really the first thing that came to mind but anything to keep the conversation going. After all he wanted to get to the big question, was she single? He wondered.

"We shall." Aaliyah said teasingly giving a mock curtsy before following him to the car and getting in. And when he asked her about her friends she laughed a bit. "If you'll believe it, I actually didn't have that many friends." She admitted honestly.

"I mean, I had my 'friends' at the dance center but, other than that? Not really. Any friends I had were mostly just people I'd go out drinking with or to clubs with. It wasn't.... real you could say."

He nodded and began to drive again trying to get out of New York City. He began to think and his aunt had a house in queens, so he began to drive on the highway towards that direction. "I see, so... Aaliyah... I guess a little about me, I'm from New York city like I said before. I didn't really like to go out much but when I did I loved going to see concerts and things like that. At home I always spent my time shopping online as I'm kinda a shopaholic" he laughed a little then continued "I didn't have many friends. And... I'm single..." he blushed a little after saying that but implied he was interested in her. Maybe it might've been too early to date a total stranger that you just met not even 2 hours ago but she wasn't like other girls. She was different, in a good way.

Aaliyah laughed at him when he mentioned being a shopoholic. She could relate. She then began blushing when he mentioned being single. Was he implying what she thought he was?

No, it couldn't be..... could it?

She cleared her throat before speaking. "I am uh, single as well."

His face flushed at this point when she mentioned that. It excited him a little as she might've been implying her interest in him too. He drove on "that's... That's great, hehe two single people, what are the odds?" he laughed nervously wanting to take it slow while at the same time he wanted her right now. "I um... Were headed to queens, my aunt has a house there that she lets me use. So she's probably not there... Then from there we can plan our route to a safe zone" he said and kept driving for a while.

It was a while of silence before he broke it again "so... Have you ever, you know... Been on a date before?" he asked shyly.

She laughed a bit too. "Crazy odds actually." She nodded in agreement with his plan. It's way better than way she had in mind for a plan. Truthfully, she didn't have one.

When he questioned her about whether or not she's ever been on a date she tensed with a light blush. She's not really had much luck with dating. She's more of a one night stand kind of girl. Due to not having much luck with men.

"I've been on many dates before but, they never really go anywhere."

He was surprised to hear that she hadn't really been on a date or had a steady relationship. She was amazing and he couldn't understand why no one would wanna be with her. "That's surprising, I mean, you seem... So... So nice Aaliyah. It's sad that you haven't really had a stable relationship before. I mean, if you were with me I wound most certainly want to have a long term relationship with you. You're the kind of girl I wish I was with. So amazing, caring" he smiled shyly as they drove along. He couldn't help but wonder if he was going too fast for her though.

Aaliyah felt herself blushing once again as he complimented her in the best way. She felt a warmth in her stomach at his kindness. "Well, how about you? You seem to be a wonderful man. I feel that I'd, actually, be lucky to have someone like you."

He blushed as well "haha me? Only been on one date, and it didn't turn out well, don't know what it is about me but she just wasn't interested in me... Unlike you..." he said hesitantly.

Aaliyah blushed harder before speaking in response to him. "Well, it's that girl's loss because your an amazing and interesting guy. I would definitely date you." She said reluctantly, not sure of his reaction.

He smiled a little "well that's good to hear... So... Would you?..." he started not knowing how to finish his question. He took a deep breath "would you... Like to... You know... I guess go out with me?... There's not much to do now that were in this apocalypse but... There are some fun things we can still do" He said with his heartbeat sped up.

Aaliyah's face turned a bright red before she quickly nodded. "Yeah, I would love to go out with you." She said with a bright smile.

He smiled as they drove along happy that they were now together. "Oh wonderful, I can't wait. I think there may be an amusement park or something when we get there. Maybe we could go. You know, despite the fact there's probably zombies there too" he laughed a little.

Eventually they got to queens and he looked around to see the same sight as New York city, abandoned cars and buildings, and dead people on the ground. As well as a few zombies here and there. They eventually got to his aunts house and went inside to make sure it was empty then went inside "good, were finally here, I'll start boarding windows up" he said beginning to do so.

As Jeffrey boarded up the windows Aaliyah walked around the house looking at all the rooms. When she arrived in the bedroom she smiled with excitement before taking off her leather jacket and holsters before jumping into the bed with a giggle.

She hasn't been in a bed in such a long time. Her friend's apartment didn't have a bed considering her friend had just moved into her apartment and didn't have time to fix up the place.

Aaliyah cuddled in the covers feeling.... Awesome.

He eventually finished and went to look for Aaliyah. He went upstairs and found her in a bed and laughed "haha haven't been in a real bed in a while huh?" he asked then sat by her "you're adorable, not sure if anyone's told you that but now I have" he laughed "anyway, wanna help me make dinner? I'm going to try and get the stove to work" he said

Aaliyah giggled from underneath the covers before looking up at him. "Yeah, It's been a while." She also blushed at being called adorable lightly kicking him to show her embarrassment but, clearly fine with it due to the smile on her face.

When she heard the prospect of cooking she sat up, her hair a mess of fiery red curls. "I'd love to help you cook supper."
