We are no longer accepting new characters (the site won't let me change the join status right now, so I'm putting this here). Feel free to check in later though, or PM me if you want to be added to a wait list of sorts in case someone drops out.
Everybody and their brother wants to make it big. Some people follow the straight and narrow: get a job, a pension, a nice picket fence boxing their lives in. Others cut corners, make gambles, take life by the horns and ride until the fly off and get a nasty concussion. A criminal knows he's up against a ticking clock. Around the corner might be the next big score, or flashing blue lights and a pair of cuffs. It makes them think about the future more, about themselves more. Some are reckless, but some -- some plan. They're careful, precise, thorough. For them, crime is an art, and the clock isn't inevitable, but rather an obstacle to be overcome.
Last August, seven people met in the back room of a shabby bar in London's East End. A week later, artwork totaling over two million pounds was stolen from a prestigious gallery. By the time the police picked up any kind of trail, the team was long gone, the art fenced, security wiped clean. They were a band of ghosts: to them, it was easy money.
This is the story of an elite band of criminals, always on the move, always looking for the newest score. Each one trusts the other with their lives, though they may not necessarily be friends. In fact, the group has only been working together for a year or so. They work as a team, but each member is an individual: they have a story, depth, vices. This RP is as much about each member's life as it is about the heist. And I expect a level of quality for the posts: this is a High Casual Roleplay, meaning at least a paragraph, but I'm looking more for depth and character development. There's not a maximum on how much you can write: if it takes you a paragraph to further the story and your character's story in a meaningful way, good. If it takes you ten paragraphs to do that, also good.
The following roles are available in the group, but don't feel restricted to this list. If you have an idea for a role you want your character to have, PM me.
The Heavy Gunner: Usually the one to provide covering fire and the one carrying heavy weapons. Max: 2 Taken: 2
The Driver: The person who drives everyone out of whatever mess they are into. They take care of runaway cars and whatnot. Max: 2 Taken: 2
The Hacker: The one in charge of hacking through whatever system the group encounters. Of course, given the actual technology, I don't really mind if they hack things through their phones or whatnot. Max: 1 Taken: 1
The Temptress: A woman in charge of distracting whoever needs to be distracted. Also, someone who infiltrates through parties and whanot, as well as being an expert stealthy assassin. Often helps create screens for everyone. Max: 1 Taken: 1
The Con: The person tasked with securing fake identities, charming their way through tight situations, and anything else that requires a fake smile and heaps of charisma. Max: 1 Taken: 1
Everybody has a role in this group, everybody is important. There is no overall leader. A character may take point on a certain job if it'd be logical for the heist in question, but there isn't one concrete Leader-type character. All characters are equal and have a say ICly. This brings us to the next point I want to make: I'm the GM, sure. But this RP wasn't my idea. Hebigami Shiho created Easy Money, then unfortunately had to bow out. I'm just the guy making sure everything goes smoothly. I have the final say on issues and will do what I can to make sure this RP stays on track and flows, but everyone participating in this has a say in how this RP is run. I'll go with what the majority wants to do, if an issue that requires a vote presents itself.
Below you'll find the RP's Rules, and a Character Sheet template. We are still accepting!
