I've done nation roleplays before in other forms, but I'd like to try my luck here. I've got several varying ideas that could prove to be quite fruitful I believe if they're given enough interest. I do however would require a co-gm, maybe two pending on the size of the group we have going.
First Idea
This would be your typical fantasy nation roleplay to a point. Having more of the Tolkien esqe aspect to it as far as the races are concerned. Any race though would be available for your choosing from Elves to the pesky Goblins. The idea that makes this though is the logistics aspect. Unlike most nation threads it would have upkeep. Meaning that to produce regiments of men or buildings would require an upkeep cost. After all it takes food and money to run an army right. To help with this is the economics, trade will play a large part on gathering wealth. So establishing trade routes would be a wise idea. This is a small taste of this idea.
Second Idea
Ready for some time travel? This comes from my absolute love of antiquity/ancient times. Either in a debate of actual nations or city states. Bronze weapons are still the major metals for war but iron working is new and becoming the new thing for all aspects of life. Small skirmishes and tactical warfare are key.
Third Idea
Well dropping the sheets behind any nation are the fief's. Each player would be a vassal for the king hold an individual town. Building and upgrading your town making it more prosperous. All the while sending taxes, food and other various materials for king to use as needed. In times of war would require services and the amount of men you can supply to the effort. The more you give, the more you will receive. Logistics again will play into this. Take a chance and maybe romance a highborn lady and it could either end in downfall or a castle gaining a vast promotion.
