Jacky looked worriedly at Armaldo, moving a bit closer to him. He raised his fins unintentionally to make himself look a bit bigger. "You hungry? We brought some food. I mean, I brought jerky, Armaldo brought...Uh...Berries and stuff." The axolotl hybrid hit his tail against the ground in a similar way to what he saw dogs do on TV. Maybe if he imitated the species Shadow was related to?

Armaldo looked curiously at the wolf creature whom the guards had informed him was named shadow. It had orange eyes, how very interesting. It also appeared to be a men rather then a girl. Armaldo also noted that men in general had deeper voices that girls. "Silly Shadow, you must smell beef jerky. I am Armaldo and this is Axolotl." he said gesturing to himself and Jacky accordingly. "You are Shadow, why you alone?" Armaldo inquired of the intimidating creature seemingly unconcerned for his safety.

"Berries not for Shadow, Shadow eat meat, see teeth?" he said to Jacky pointing at Shadow's obvious canines, "They for tearing, like bear teeth and dog teeth. My teeth flat like deer, for plant things and bugs." gesturing to his own teeth and plomping another berry in, he would have to grab some bugs next time he went back to the kitchen. The ones that Armis looked delicious and he wouldn't have to brave the cooling device to get them either. Then he nudged his glasses up before they slid off his face, his eyes revealed to be a startling shade of white before vanishing behind his glasses and taking on the more diminished color they usually had all the while staring closely and Shadow and memorizing his smell.

"Its Aiden." he replied. He then looked back at the guards. "I doubt they mind. It is not like we're gonna plan some super big murder spree; killing anyone and thing" he jokingly said loud so the guards could hear. He then chuckled as a few of the guards turned towards the two with confused looks
Aiden then walked over to the sloth hybrid who he saw as the leader. "So will we have to be doing tests and stuff like that?" he said looking around the room.

Jerric frowned slightly at the comment of the murder spree, but let it go as he nodded. "Tests? Yes, but only on a physical plain. They want to teach us what we can do with our animal and human sides. Only the least educated hybrids will get like... History tests. You know?" He answered with a small chuckle. "They 'claim' they want to teach us to be members of society."

Kara felt a little more doubtful about his chances than Armis seemed to be, but she knew she didn’t have all the variables. In her experience she was hardier than most, but still vulnerable to knives and bullets. The thick bony plates that Armaldo had put her in mind of the heavier forms of body armour, though, so he was probably a tough nut to crack. Whatever it was, it wasn’t her business so she turned her attention back to the other girl.

“Yeah, I lived in the city,” she said, putting the meat down as she talked. “It was… Well, it was normal I guess. I don’t really remember anything else. I started out on the streets, but people throw enough food away to live from and after I beat a few people up word got around and I mostly got left alone. Eventually there were people who would pay me to do, er, guarding and stuff,” she hesitated a bit over this part, not sure if she wanted to tell Armis how much of her various jobs had involved actively going after people to beat up.

“Anyway, I could get enough money and I met some people who didn’t care that I was a weird little girl who could take on dudes trice her size and wore long sleeves in summer,” she shrugged, a little surprised by how wistful thinking about her past was making her.

“It was… nice I guess. I mean, I got into fights and ate garbage half of the time, but I figured out my own shit, you know?”

"Um, yea, no, if you think I'm going to do those same test again they have another thing coming. I came here to be contained, not to become some kid's science project." He said to them in a casual voice though he raised his voice a little to showing that he was serious. He finish his food and left the bowl and silverware on the table. "We were living the best lives we could in the public, why can't they just leave us be?" He asked even though he knew the answer all to well.

Armis grinned at Kara's tale. It wasn't a 'happy' storry, but it sounded like she enjoyed her childhood.
"I can understand having to figure it out on your own."
She warily looked around.
"I'm also going to guess that your fighting experience is going to come in handy. These people didn't bring us in to give us a free education for nothing."
Armis suddenly was struck by an idea. She smiled as she regarded Kara.
"Would you like to be roommates?"

The girl had followed quietly inside when the others had given up trying to make her feel better about hurting the human guard that had woken her from sleeping inside the truck; the others made her uneasy and fearful when she should be proud and dangerous. Her scaled hide picked up several pieces of grass while she moved, blades of grass catching irritatingly between the scales as well. She lifted a hand to brush her hair out of her face while the other picked a particularly long piece of grass out from between too of her scales that were closer to her hips, causing the girl to bite her bottom lip in pain. Looking around she found the young man who had greeted them in the first place and hovered not too far away, hoping he would notice her.

Kara warily plucked at the strings of her hoodie at the remark about ‘fighting experience’. She’d been thinking about that since she came here, but she didn’t like what she’d come up with.

“I don’t know… I mean, I’m strong and all, but I’m not bulletproof and I’m not some kind of… comic book character or something,” she said, putting it the only way she really knew how. “I can’t jump onto a roof like the cat-lady did or dig into metals with my claws like the wolf-dude. And I don’t even have a tail that can double like a hand. I’m just… not really measuring up in this place I guess,” she said softly. If push came to shove, she was pretty sure she could hold out for a bit, especially with those fancy techniques of Lola’s that used an opponent’s strength against themselves. But in an all-out fight? From what she’d seen so far, she wasn’t looking to find out in a hurry.

Her expression cleared up at the second question.

“That sounds great!” she said enthusiastically. “I’ve never had a proper roommate before!” She hadn’t minded at the time, not really looking to spend time with people who thought of her as a ‘freak’, but it wasn’t like she stood out here.

“We can pick our own rooms right? Though I don’t really care which one we get.” She popped the last of her meat in her mouth, and stuck the bag of raspberries in her hoodie pocket for later. The novelty of the kitchen was fast wearing off, and she was itching to see a bit more of the place.

“You wanna go do some exploring? We didn’t get a chance to look at all those rooms yet, and it seems we’ll be staying here for now at least. Might as well know what we’re in for, right?”

Armis frowned when Kara told her about her feelings.
"From what I've seen you measure up to this place more than others you know how to interact socially, you can take care of yourself, hell if it really comes down to it you could be our best asset in reconnaissance."
She got up and walked to the door. She motioned for Kara to join her.
"Come on, if we,re exploring I've got a place I want to visit."

"Believe me, I understand." Jerric promised to he fox, nodding. "I'm trying to make everyone comfortable here but..." His voice dropped to a whisper as he shook his head. "I think we all know this is just a prison for us until they figure of what we're capable of." After he finished he became distracted by a flash of free in the corner of his eye; and he glanced over to see the girl he had comforted from earlier, Melissandre. "If you'll excuse me." He murmured before slowly shambling his way towards her. "Hey there... How are you doing?"

The girl hadn't expected the boy to notice her so quickly, as he had been speaking with another of the group though the two seemed to have been rather comfortable with this as well. The snake girl looked away when he started toward her, his approach slow as was expected of a sloth, and picked a leaf from her soft green hair. "I umm. . . Actually. . . " She started though she wasn't exactly sure how to finish as she looked at him again, her golden eyes meeting his without difficulty. "It's rather cold in here.. . Is there a place that's warmer?" She asked hesitantly, not sure of this northern manse.

"Warmer?" He questioned quickly as he eyes lazily flicked around the room. "Oh yeah, I think I know a place." With that he simply began to walk away, gesturing for the girl to follow him. "C'mon!"

Shadow immediately let out that same low, intimidating growl. He walked closer towards the group, specifically towards the fish hybrid, due to the fact he had spread his fins out. "Do you dare threaten me?" He ignored what the fish had said about beef jerky. He wasn't for dry meat, he wanted raw meat. Meat that was tasteful without cooking or adding anything to it. Besides, he wasn't too hungry at the moment. He was still getting used to the smell of the place itself. "Do you honestly think you threaten me fish?"

Shadow's head shot towards the armadillo. He watched as his eyes were revealed. Something is off about this armadillo hybrid. He doesn't seem to understand what danger is. Shadow didn't want to hurt the hybrids just yet. He wanted to play with them. He got close to the fish hybrid. "You and your friend would make an awfully good snack." The words escaped his lips just loud enough for Jacky to hear. "Guys! Please leave the trailer. Now." Shadow chuckled at the guards command. "Might wanna listen to the guard if you value life."

A guard called to Jerric from within the doorway. "Jerric, sir!" The guard wasn't sure if Jerric would appreciate the news. He seemed like a very laid back guy, but Shadow was already a bit of trouble, and the day hasn't even ended yet. Not only that, he hasn't even had to leave his own trailer to cause chaos.

Jacky opened his mouth to say something, but quickly shut it, finally realizing what he was doing and covering his fins with one arm. He resisted the urge to correct Shadow by saying he was a salamander, but was reluctant to leave as well. "I taste bad." he finally mumbled, remembering when he ate fish once. Surely the taste had to be similar?

Jerric's eyes snapped up as he saw the incoming guard, his brow furrowing. "What's wrong?" He asked quickly as the guard came running up to him. "It's Shadow. Two of the hybrids are provoking them, I'm afraid it will turn violent soon" He explained, causing Jerric to grit his teeth and turn to Melissandre. "If you wouldn't mind, could you follow me for a moment? I fear I might need your help." He mumbled before quickly beginning to shamble off towards the outside once again.

He reached the trailer just in time to hear Jacky's young voice. "I taste bad." He said, confirming Jerric's fears that things were turning out worse for wear. "Jacky!" He called out quickly as he moved to stand in between him and the large wolf creature. "Jacky I need you to let me talk to Shadow for a second alright?" His eyes fell onto Armaldo as he nodded to him. "You too."

Armaldo was thoroughly perplexed by the situation. The gun-men appeared to be concerned for their safety, yet there was nothing threatening them. He was about to say something with the sloth-men appeared telling them to leave Shadow alone so that the Sloth-men could talk to him. Well that was no good at all, "Why? I not finished learning." Armaldo complained refusing to move. He was still curious about the wolf creature, it seemed to be quite interesting. It seemed to be similar to Snow-leopard but it was a men and was less like a human. It was also very different from all the other things Armaldo had met so far. "I listen to you talk, no problems." Armaldo said decisively remaining where he was.

Melisandre

The girl had been hoping to go somewhere that didn't make her want to curl up and hibernate though she followed anyway without much more than a small nod. Her long tail pushed her forward faster than Jerric move but she didn't pass him since he knew what was going on whereas she did not. "What's going on?" She asked, looking between the few that were here and apparently near danger though the guards that had alerted Jerric in the first place shied away from her as she passed, catching more dust in her scales. She really would need to wash later, take a hot bath and maybe bask in the sunlight without her clothes - if there was enough light coming through her window in her bedroom, which hopefully there was.

The woman had been sitting on the roof of the house , watching and listening to what she could though in the end she gain nothing from it and with so few predators here there was little amusement to be found. When she heard the commotion coming from the wolf mans trailer and jumped off of the roof onto the top of it, landing with a loud bang as the others left the trailer. Without fail she leaned over the side of the trailer and looked in through the window at Shadow, her eyes wide and inquisitive though they held a glint of mischief. She smirked, gesturing for him to either meet her later or talk to her soon.

Jerric never answered Melissandre, obviously too focused on the task at hand to really give his attention to anything else. He had to make sure no violence broke out between the hybrids, or they wouldn't ever stand much of a chance in this place. When the Armadillo gave his reply, Jerric's eyes narrowed as he shook his head. "No. You will go, right now, and let me talk to him. If you don't, you get no berries for a week. Understand?" He answered firmly, crossing his arms.

Armaldo frowned and shook his head vigorously, "No,no,no!" he sat down and looked frustrated between the bag of berries he was carrying and the creature he wanted to study more. He could always talk to Shadow later but not having berries for a week... Armaldo ate berries everyday of his life, going without them would just be unthinkable. Deciding to wait until later to study Shadow more Armaldo angrily curled into a ball keeping his bag of berries in the center and rolled out of the trailer landing on the ground with a dull thud. He couldn't hear anything from where he was but if he rolled under the trailer while they were busy talking and pressed his ear to the bottom... Well it wouldn't be his fault if they talked too loud now would it? He allowed himself a clever grin where no one could see and waited for his chance.
