"Ah good. We are probably close then." Ryan looked around and saw something fleeing out of the corner of his eye. "After it!" Ryan sprinted towards where he saw the thing and looked around. "Gone."

Liam sat on a bench with Scarlet and Ralts out. Liam was brushing Scarlet's fur. Ralts sat next to his trainer.

Shiranui followed Ryan and saw the look of disappointment. "I think one of my psychic Pokémon can help out," he stated, "I brought her along in case I needed emergency backup. Titania, come on out!" Shiranui opened one of his Poké Balls and a Gardevoir materialised.

Ryan quickly whipped out a pen and notepad and began taking notes on Titania. "Absolutely fascinating. Ideal height, hair seemingly well taken care of, face spikes are longer than usual species length, lower body gown is seemingly silky. This Gardevoir is above average." Any disappointment from earlier was gone as he noted every aspect of Titania. He then realized he was in public and put away the notepad. "Sorry. Titania, could you please search the area for any strong Psychic presences?" He asked politely.

"I certainly can," answered Titania, "Oh, and thanks for your evaluation." The Gardevoir scanned the local vicinity and found a strong mind a block away.

Liam's Ralts perked up when he sensed Titania scanning the city. He tugged Liam's sleeve and communicated it to his trainer. Liam recalled Scarlet and had Ralts teleport him to the Gardevoir scanning the city.

"Hello Liam," greeted Shiranui, "What brings you here?"

"Rats sensed a powerful psychic sweeping the city with its powers. I'm not surprised its Titania." Liam replied. He turned to the psychic pokemon. "How are you doing Titania?"

Ryan sent out his own Ralts and knelt down to talk to it. "Hello there. I am Ryan. It is a pleasure to meet you." Oberon looked at him with his deep blue eyes and nodded.

"It is nice to meet you as well. My name is Oberon. I do hope you will be more intelligent then my last trainer." He responded with a nod. To say Ryan was surprised by Oberon's intelligence would be an understatement.

"Well then Oberon. I'm going to need you to track a strong mental presence about a block away. Could you do that?"

"Of course I can. What kind of self respecting Ralts can't?" He responded with a small amount of condescension.
"Yeah yeah, hop on my back. Fuma will keep you up if you have problems." Ryan ordered as Fuma helped Oberon up. They went towards the strong mind when he stopped. "Wait, what did you mean by that? Your last trainer?" "Do you want to catch the presence or not?" "We'll come back to this later."

Ryan crept up on where the presence was coming from and looked at a lone Espurr standing by itself. It was staring at a trashcan, to be more precise, a half eaten Oran Berry near it. Ryan took out a Colbur Berry he harvested earlier and put it on the ground. He backed away and whistled. The Espurr turned and eyed the Berry. Ryan sat down beside Fuma and Oberon and nodded at the Espurr. It appeared to be a female upon closer examination, but Ryan didn't care. He instead just took out another Colbur Berry and put it in front of him. This was a show of trust as the Espurr could easily kill Ryan and his Pokemon with her barely controlled Psychic abilities. The Espurr walked up and snatched the Berry without a thought. Ryan took out a Poke Ball and tapped her on the head after she finished her Berry. The ball didn't even shake once before it clicked.

"It's not often you see such an easy capture." Liam commented.

"Rats sensed a powerful psychic sweeping the city with its powers. I'm not surprised its Titania." Liam replied. He turned to the psychic pokemon. "How are you doing Titania?"

"I am feeling great," answered Titania, "Ryan over here gave me a great evaluation like a Pokémon watcher would and I found what had been poking about in my trainer's mind. Turns out it was this Espurr that someone named Mimi and it was recently startled by seeing a memory of another of my trainer's Pokémon that even now still gives me the shudders." The Gardevoir spotted Oberon and sent the Ralts a telepathic greeting.

"I bet I know which one." Liam replied. Liam's Ralts asked Titania if she had any pointers for a young Ralts.

"That would depend on whether you want to be a physical fighter or a mentalist before your second evolution," Titania answered, "At the moment, I recommend you work on your mental focus."

Liam's Ralts told his trainer what the answer was. Liam agreed to help him work on it. He asked if there was anything else they wanted to do before they left.

Oberon was startled by Titania's greeting and cautiously sent her a response. Meanwhile Ryan was looking at the Pokeball in his hand. "Yeah. This did seem pretty easy. Almost as if it wanted to be caught." Ryan got up and looked at Titania. "Titania. How would you go about determining whether someone has psychic potential. I just formed a hypothesis that I could be one." Ryan asked as he looked at her. He thought of all the times where he communicated with a Pokemon, trying to talk to them even though they couldn't talk back. And even so, he felt as if he could understand them better than people.

"A ridiculous question. The only way to find out if you're a Psychic is by doing this." Suddenly Ryan felt a foreign presence in his head as Oberon dug around his mind for... something. Ryan suddenly snapped his head back and his eyes turned a light blue. "Oh. That's how you find out." His eyes turned back to their normal color and he collapsed on the ground. He was awake, but he was so tired. He reached for Oberon's Pokeball and looked at him. "Do you want to go in your Pokeball now?" Oberon simply shook his head and got on Ryan's chest. "Can someone take me to the Pokemon Center? I don't think I can get up."

Liam picked Ryan up. He carried him piggy back to the Pokemon Center. He sat him down in a chair there. Joy came over and asked if everything was alright. Liam told her that the thinks so, his friend just needed to rest for a bit.
"Okay Liam, just holler if you need anything." She said with a warm smile.

Shiranui followed Liam and Ryan with Titania close behind. The Gardevoir was astounded that Ryan had latent psychic abilities.

Since they had nothing else to do while Ryan rested, Liam powered a pen and some paper from Joy. He drew a symbol on each page such as a star, a triangle, and so on and had Ralts try to guess which one Liam was looking at by trying to read his mind.

"Zener cards—wish I though of that," stated Shiranui.

It proved to be effective training. Liam figured Ryan may want to use them with his Ralts as well and they would be good for trying psychic types in the future.
