"I'm the district manager at one of the local Waffle Houses," Brandon said, his eyes scanning the street and houses for any threat. In one window he saw a Walker banging at the window. It appeared to be stuck in the house, but Brandon didn't want to take any chances and he ushered the group to move a bit more quickly to get away from the area.
"I work there," Lydia added as she looked over her shoulder at the two. "Waitress, host, cook, you name it. I even do inventory and place orders."
Brandon grinned as he said, "Lydia's one of my best workers. I can count on her for everything." The praise caused Lydia to beam proudly as she was happy to hear that she was considered important in their work.
"We're friends outside of work as well," Brandon went on. Then suddenly realizing that Francis might take it the wrong way he quickly added, "Strictly friends."
"We like the same things," Lydia explained as she shift Peter to her other side. "Video games, renaissance fairs, weapons. It's definitely a good thing for the last two right now. We were at a renaissance fair earlier today, which is why we had our bows and knives in the car."
