A number of factors, but could be boiled down to three:
1.) Time. I just didn't have enough of it to invest in long term projects and have a social life.
2.) Mental Health. I'd trigger these immense highs while writing stories, and then when I finished a draft I'd crash for days and revisiting what I wrote made it worse. Part of the reason I needed medication to function every day. For whatever reason my happy pills kill most of my creative drive too.
3.) Poor planning. I can usually write through "Act 1" with any story I worked on and then I hit a wall. Couldn't keep the plot or action moving, even when I had an outline to work with. Also, couldn't bring multiple characters to life.
