The universe... It is a massive wonder all by itself. filled with numerous amounts of the unknown that we, human beings, haven't even began to touch let alone imagine. From the vast and various amount of unaccounted for species, to the discovery of finding new habitable planets for human expedition... Yet as night and day go by, we have yet to prove these things to be true, but the question for now is: What do you think of the universe?

So really what do you think?? Do you think there is other habitable planets and life out there?? What do you think of it as itself?? Etc, etc.... Really would like to see your point of view on the matter.

........

~Note: -NOT TO OFFEND ANYONE AT ALL- if you could leave the subject of religion out of because yes I know some religion does talk of the universe and who made it or how it was created, but that a whole another subject.

Usually I see it drowned out by streetlights a bit since I live in the city.

Let's just say their is one habitable planet per-10,000,000 stars in the universe. Then we have to think of the life-forums that have intelligence to understand the universe just at our level of understanding. If we look at Earth, with all the forums of life on Earth, it is only produced one life forum that understands their are planets in our solar system. it has only been one generation of human activity just to find other planets in other solar systems. Even with us, and another life forum at our level of intelligence and level of technology less then the time we sent out primitive radio signals into outer space. We will never understand each other.

If there is a more advance life then ourselves out there, they would have gone past radio into something more complex they we understand to hear their conversations. And if they did understand us, even at our primitive understanding of the universe they would have very little interest with contact.

With mankind, and other biological life forums: you only evolve only on one planet and will expire on that planet. Even when man can colonize just the moon: the difference with gravity with earth and the moon will be so difference that anyone that was born and lived and died on the moon over time will evolve to a level that they cannot return to earth. Mankind is built on bone mass at 1 G, and lower or greater will change the shape and build just on that simple fact.

True, we can build starships and move out into space to find a new planet to live on. But, whatever population we do send will be a very small population that over time will face interbreeding and the whole colony will collapse before it does reach just another solar system.

Therefore, they like us if they are biological are doomed to expire on their own solar system. After they reach a level of intelligence to understand they are doom to their own solar system: contacting other life forum outside their solar system would be illegal vanity.

@Dead Girl Yes I do agree with the facts you stated and that mankind has the capability to go out into space with the interest in colonizing the moon and other planets if we do mange to actually get that far, but at the same time you have to take in the consideration of technological advances that the mankind makes just about everyday.

While a child may be born on the moon and have a different rate of growth and changes to their body, they could as far as go to the heights and means of making an artificial colony or station that negates the outside of the moons gravity and set it to what we are a accommodated with now, Earth's g force 1 g. It is a possibility that this could happen which would nullify their spiral of doom for a time, but the possibility of what you said of us not being able to return back because of what planet they were born on could happen as well. The reason why: The Human Mind and Body.

The reason why I bring up the human mind is because basically we still don't know how to unlock the ability to control it and what we use it for in our daily lives. Yes we have the control of our muscles, eyes, mouth, etc..., but that is only just the pinnacle of what were able to process and command ourselves to do. I believe that if we do discover the key to it, we will sky rocket into an advance way of living and see a colossal change in our technological advances. Though at the same time, humankind should tread carefully if there is ever a point that we get to this stage. The state of your emotions can play a big factor into what we do and how things get done.

As well if were to get involved with other intelligent life forms, I wouldn't put it past them just look out politics of today..... They speak for themselves.

We can't come together and see the bigger picture: We are one planet, Let's see what else is out there; if we could do this and have a general focus on that, it would make things better for ourselves and actually stop destroying the only livable place we have as a home. Then again, we could've sent those radio messages out to the wrong species that could've taken them as offense and hell-bent on finding away to us, we just don't know.

The logic behind one habitable planet out of- 10,000,000 stars in the universe, yes this could be a fact, but at the same time it could be a false, because right now, we have no true evidence to prove that and are stuck with the written theories, and the night sky of space. I'm not say that is wrong or right, I'm not saying I'm wrong or right, I'm saying its a possibility until proven other wise.

Space, the final frontier.

Well, I see the universe as something we don't understand. We look out at it, but every time we can see something new. Do I think there are other habitable planets? Yes. Do I believe there's life on said habitable planets? Yes. I believe that 100%. There are some amazing studies being done at NASA currently. They're finding other planets that could support life within our solar system. And they're finding more everyday. They're also weeding out planets that aren't giving off the right lightwaves (those that tell us what the planet's composition is).

But life isn't the norm as far as we can tell. This article from BBC explains just how many freakish events had to happen in order for Earth to be what it is today. Since we live on this planet and have never been off of it (other than the quick jaunt to the moon), it's hard to realize just how special it is.

Other than life as we know it, there are hundreds more things for us to learn outside in the universe. We don't know what black holes are. We have no idea why the universe is still expanding. And it's getting faster every second. And we have no idea why.

Or how about Quantum entanglement. That's some trippy stuff. I know this is weird to say, but as amateur astronomer (we're only called that because we don't have degrees) we learn how to look at space outside of ourselves as a context. Human beings only came into the universe so very recently. We're just one piece in a giant puzzle. We need to keep striving for the big picture and to not limit ourselves.

So I guess I see the universe as amazing potential.
