The Fantastic Team Fujitora Finally Finishes its Mission!
After his fight ended and he got back to where his team was, Jaakuna had taken a seat between Paneru and Shin. While Paneru would heal his wounds, Jaakuna watched as the fights went on.
First was that bandaged psycho freak. He went up against Gozoboro’s brother, Haichi, who looked quite the opposite of his brother and had the opposite of abilities. He had a large build and even larger hair. He had such strong shades of crimson that ran through his hair, Jaakuna found a bit of humor as he chuckled lightly at the fact that this man had the talent of Lava Release. Jaakuna didn’t think many Lava Release-users were outside of the Land of Earth, but given the nature of this fighting ring, anything would be possible. Jaakuna did fight a four-armed freak who could barely speak.
The fight started like all other fights did: a few rounds of taijutsu. That was until ninjutsu came into play and at that point, Sanguine had gained the upper hand. Even if Haichi didn’t realize until it was too late, Jaakuna knew just by watching it that Sanguine was the real deal. The graceful elegance his movements had and his utilization of his ninjutsu and chakra. Jaakuna hadn’t seen anything quite like it in some time. He was definitely on a whole different level than the Sundance Kid. When the fight came to an end, Jaakuna’s body went cold in a sense. He felt his limbs shaking, not even realizing that Kapora would come out seeing his brother’s body burnt body. The four-armed fighter charged at Sanguine and the latter simply replaced his body when Paneru’s chair, which brought Jaakuna’s shakiness to a speeding halt as his team was not involved in their little spat. In a literal blink of an eye, Sanguine was behind Kapora who hadn’t realized it before it was too late.
Jaakuna watched in horror as Kapora’s head was sliced cleanly off his shoulders by Sanguine’s fire chakra-coated katana. There was so much blood where Kapora’s headless corpse laid. It was like an oozing, thick fosit of water. Jaakuna’s eyes were widened as he couldn’t take his eyes off of Kapora’s body, but that was when something dropped into his lap. Jaakuna looked down and it was Kapora’s head.
”What the--? Jaakuna could only look up as he saw Sanguine who would speak and say that Kapora’s head was a trophy for his first real fight in the pits.
Before Jaakuna could do anything, be it a response or whatever, Sanguine had flickered his body away to his seat as he waited for his next fight to happen. Jaakuna didn’t even move at that point, not for Fujitora’s fight or Shin’s next fight. It was like he was frozen still at the horror that was Sanguine. He truly was afraid of the man and Jaakuna hardly gets afraid of anyone. Maybe worried about some, but never genuinely, truly afraid. However, Sanguine was different. The man was so cold-hearted and Jaakuna could only see darkness emanating from the man.
When Shin’s fight had ended, the announcements for the next round of fights were heard. The balls would call out the next two contestant sand one landed over Sanguine. He just saw the man look as he had most of the time. However, what Jaakuna wasn’t expecting was the second ball to appear over his head. What!? No. This can’t be. No, tell me this isn’t happening.
“Would the participants come to the ring!” The announcer called out.
Jaakuna couldn’t stand. Well, he could, but his mind wasn’t letting him. The moment that Jaakuna had feared had came. He was fighting Sanguine and Jaakuna could feel the fear manifesting itself into his mind, making him freeze in his position. Through whatever miracle it took for Jaakuna to move, he made his way to the ring. That huge feeling of fear still in his mind, Jaakuna would fight as much as his mind would let him.
Sanguine gave a bored yawn as he watched Fujitora blow his opponent away. If he's going to fight in the pits, the least he can do is make a show off it, especially in the finals. Damn addict has no sense of showmanship. He continued to fume over this issue for a while, ignoring most of the next fight as he did so, but his head rose when his turnwas called, and his eyes took on a dastardly gleam as he saw who his opponent was. The poor boy, I can practically smell the fear coming off him in waves. Points for having the bravery to step forward, though, I'll give the kid props for that.
As Sanguine rose, he took notice that the henge he'd cast had fallen away, though it didn't do much except show his true figure. He was skinnier and much less obviously muscled than before, and seemed to have gotten a bit shorter as well, though not by much. He considered reapplying it, but decided against it, seeing as there was no need for it anymore. As he entered the ring, he made a quick handsign under his cloak, before staring Jaakuna right in the eyes. Both combatants would be frozen, one in fear and the in concentration. Jaakuna would be forced to see himself dying numerous, horrible, agonizing deaths, each one more disturbing the last.
After another minute of horrific visions, the boy would be freed by these delusions, though probably not the effect they had on him, as Sanguine released the jutsu and burst forward at high speed to launch a savage barrage of blows to beat down Jaak's defenses before attempting to send him flying into the barrier with a kick. Whether it hit or not, Sanguine would immediately back away from his opponent, wearing an arrogant smirk on his face as if to,say, 'You have no chance against me, so why don'typu just laydown and give up with us. "Now then, let's make this interesting, shall we Sawada-san? If you manage to force me to use any B-Rank or higher jutsu, you get a present. Sounds fun, right?"
Taking a more defensive post, Jaakuna felt as though he could maybe get through this. So far he had managed to win his fight, though even then his victories relied on circumstances. But a glimmer of hope arose in his mind when he saw his menacing opponent enter the field and the barrier forming itself once more. Taking a deep breath, he'd looked up at the bandaged man as the fight started, but he'd only be greeted with visions of atrocities, exactly what he anticipated from that monster. Despite being chuunin, the nervousness Jaakuna was feeling from the premise of this fight was intensified tenfold by the killing intent ability used on him. He had trouble catching his breath from that point.
When he'd finally regain a sense of orientation, the bandaged man was already striking him. The only reaction coming from the blonde dance would be one of submission, no counter attack as he could only tank the hits before being pushed against the barrier. Now on the ground, his body felt paralyzed by fear. He felt like he couldn't do this, that he'd die in unbearable conditions. But his inner will to never give up, fueled by his good friend Shin's demonstrated resilience, made him stand up and resume his stance. "A B rank you say? Pfff, easy. I can even force an A rank!" although his pride was very well vocalized, his body language gave off doubt and worry. An easy thing to detect for predators like the one he was facing.
He'd suddenly dash toward his opponent, throwing in two kunai at his general direction. Both had an explosive tag on them and would either serve as distraction or a way to forcibly move the bandaged man, leaving him vulnerable for a hit. He was readying his own punch to deliver to the man following the kunai, little did the enemy know that he was hiding a kunai behind his sleeve as well. "Take that you freak!"
Sanguine didn't respond to his opponent's confidence for two reasons. Firstly, he didn't feel the need, as he could easily see the boy was quaking in his boots, and secondly, he was in the middle of performing a jutsu. The hand signs were hidden by his cloak, and all Jaakuna could see was the man taking a deep breath, than blowing it out. Unknown to him, Sanguine was releasing a highly explosive gas into the air in front of him, completely undetectable by taste, smell, or sight. Normally this jutsu was used as a trap, but in this instance, he was merely setting up for a bigger attack.
As the kunai came flying towards him, he quickly ran through a short stream of of handsigns, before blasting out a powerful gale of wind in front of him. This would send the kunai hurtling back to Jaakuna, as well as knick the boy off his feet if he continued forward, but more importantly, it funneled the gas he had released into a condensed stream rushing straight towards the boy. Sanguine jumped back to distance himself before he snapped his fingers, causing a spark to ignite the volatile malestrom.
With the added power of not only the Great Wind Breakthrough, but the two explosive tags Jaakuna had so helpfully provided, the explosion would be rather large and intense. Not only that, but it'd also create a wonderful smokescreen to hide Sanguine next move from the most likely disoriented chunin.
Taking advantage of the cover provided, he rushed into launch another barrage of strikes on his foe, this time attempting to end it with grabbing Jaakuna's throat, draining a small portion of his chakra for a moment, before moving to slam him into the ground. However, between these two actions, his concentration and grip would be broken by pain from his back and his right arm(which was the one he was using to grab Jaakuna), the injuries sustained from his last fight screaming in revolt to his actions.
The enemy was exhaling something, but Jaakuna couldn't really see what it was. It didn't matter, the kunai were thrown, only to be pushed back by the great breakthrough. Luckily, the blonde boy didn't make them blow up in the worst possible time but instead let them fly by him while he postured himself to resist the wind blast's influence. The bombs would explode behind him, in sync with the bandaged man's own release of fire from his last jutsu. This left Jaakuna confused, being the average bloke intelligence-wise, but he could escape it quickly enough with the bombs exploding behind him and the wind's scatter of the gas.
Added to his projection, he'd swiftly activated meteor, allowing himself to easily coordinate his movements when in the air while being wrapped with Energy Release chakra. With the smoke cloud present, he couldn't see very much, but neither could his enemy. The bandaged man took advantage of this situation and tried to strike the teen up close, but Sundance was already at his face when he attempted that. Using his enhanced speed and strength, he collided his fist with the bandaged man's, attempting to overpower him. Of course, the Chuunin had the advantage of being able to maneuver himself in various angles without a single worry.
With his fist colliding, he swung the lower half of his body in order to deliver a forward kick to the man's abdomen all the while using his fire capoira strike to release flames with that strike. All in an attempt to push back and damage the enemy a much as possible.
Sanguine's showed no worry for the chunnin's attack, catching Jaakuna's fist in an open palm and intercepting his kick by grabbing his ankle, causing the fire to shot of to the side. It was uncomfortable close, but he could deal with the pain easily enough. Deciding that he'd had enough playing with the boy, and that he was obviously not on his best game, he decided to end this earlier than he had planned. That being said, the boy did deserve a little gift for his efforts. Enhancing his grip with chakra, Sanguine, swung Jaakuna up into the air by his wrist and ankle, then slammed him down savagely into the ground. While he'd usually be worried about counter attack, he was certain that the boy would have a hard time moving, given the extent of his injuries throughout the battle, with his back being one of his weak points. The hit probably would paralyze him pain long enough for Sanguine to grip him by the neck, giving off a devious smile as he siphoned off the boy's chakra. His grip was also tight enough to choke the boy, leaving him unable to call out his surrender.
After he had drained all he could from the boy, he picked him up with a bored expression on his face before taking his head in his other hand and slamming him face first into the ground. He summoned to shadow clones to hold the boy down, one keeping a grip on his throat to keep him from speaking out, then he pulled out a kunai, heating it up with fire chakra as he circled around Jaakuna's figure. Sitting down next to him, his face twisted into an devious smile before twirling it around his finger and jabbing it into the boy's back. He then began to carve up the young Sawada's back in a slow, methodical matter, his shadow clones holding the boy down to keep him from squirming too much or trying to surrender. When he was finished, a mark that everyone would recognize would be emblazoned in all it's bloody glory on the poor boy's back. The mark of the same serial killer that had plagued Konoha's streets 9 years ago, the Daten-shi killer.
"Think of that as something to remember me by, maybe it'll inspire you to get stronger." Sanguine said with a chuckle as he stood up before turning to the referee of the fight. "I hereby forfeit the match, the win goes to the Sawada boy. I'll be taking my leave now." Sanguine said with a bow, his shadow clones disappearing with a puff as he quickly walked out of the arena. If any of the betting man, angry at what they thought was a sure win, came after him into true darkness of the hallways, it'd be the last thing they'd ever do, as their bodies would be found several days later, barely recognizable, in front of the door steps of their families with a neat bow placed on their heads.
Jaakuna laid bare on the ground, devoid of chakra and stamina due to his previous fights and the beat down made by his opponent. He screamed in agony when being carved in the back by the psychopath, but he refused to give up. He couldn't lose so easily, but despite all his struggles, he couldn't get much out of it. After this horrible experience, the bandaged man would finally surrender, to everyone's surprise. Fujitora himself was utterly shocked by this type of behavior. Needless to say, no one had a word to say about it, everyone felt an air of relief once this monster was finally out of the room. Jaakuna, though in normal situations would call out his opponent for being a coward, was both too weak and put rightfully in his place to bad mouth the enemy.
This left Fujitora with his final opponent, the old lady from before. She seemed like a typical nice lady, and she didn't even kill her opponent last round. He was still more than willing to kill her, but she simply rose her hand in the air and surrendered. The room wasn't as shocked as before, it appears all the violence and efforts put into getting this scroll got the better of her and she didn't wish to take part in this ridiculous play any longer. She didn't say one word, and left as the bandaged man did. Her sponsor was out of pawns and couldn't actually threaten her, and as such she didn't lose anything.
This left Fujitora fighting Shin, but considering his mortal wound and the fact that he was in the same team as Fujitora, the commander was declared the winner by default and Paneru the righteous owner of the scroll of Demonic Faces. With this victory, Fujitora didn't express any form of excitement or happiness. He remained professional, only giving a slight wink of encouragement to Paneru as he'd have to care for the two boys who had went through hell and back today. The other sponsors left and the announcer remained to supervise the entire transfer process.
The commander inspected the large scroll for a moment, determining if there were any visible flaws on it. He couldn't say much about it, but it seemed fairly authentic. Removing a typical scroll from his inner pocket, he'd opened it to seal the large scroll into the smaller one (scroll-ception). Leaving a small amount of time to let Paneru heal the wounded, he gave them only two options.
"You've done some good work. I'll leave you two choices: You can come with me and finish the job. Or, you can go to the Utakata hospital a block away from the place we got in."
He'd inform them before walking over to the exit. As he left, he'd walk on a short metallic bridge that would lead directly to an elevator. From there, they'd leave from where they entered and they were ready to leave for Kannabi bridge. Fujitora led the way as was likely the healthiest of the bunch and the more competent one.
After a short travel, the remaining nin would finally see their destination, and it appeared as though team Fujitora would be the last one arriving. Cursing under his breath, he wouldn't be able to patronize his sister this time. However... He did see the Tanpopo girl being her usual eccentric self and zoning out her surroundings a little too much. He was sure she could detect him, but not so sure if she would be paying attention. Jumping high in the air, he'd straighten his body before diving down toward Megumi. Of course, he'd only crash a meter next to her, but the impact of his crash along with his enhanced weight would cause the shock to push her flattened body away and cover her in dust in the process. That way he would teach her to be slacking on the job.
Slowly emerging from the cloud of smoke he had created, his shadow made him look somewhat intimidating as he faced his overly authoritative sister and slowly approached her. When he'd finally reveal himself, Ayame and Tsukiko could immediately notice the low life sunglasses he was wearing and the neckbeard he didn't bother to purge after finishing his mission. He'd toss her the scroll he used to seal the bigger one, he didn't want to have anything else to do with that god forsaken thing. He somewhat regretted taking this job, it was likely the longest out of the four, and possibly the most risky, but Ayame found it suitable that, because of his rank, he'd lead this type of perilous plight.
"Here's the baby. Guess I gotta apologize for being late, but we did come across a hole different dilemma than the initial plan."
He'd say, snickering horribly between words in the second half of his sentence. He wasn't on break, but he sure had enough of appearing overly boring and cold, especially when the kiddies weren't in the grown up talk. Except maybe for Sentou, but her buffet idea would likely be a lot more ridiculous than the initial idea. Shin would be visible at this point (he'd likely be healed enough to come and he isn't a quitter, RIGHT????), and a large scar accompanied with a hole on his shirt would make it quite obvious as to why Fujitora made that joke. Bad taste, but he was one for bad jokes.
"I can assure you... It left us all with a mark in our soul... And for others somewhere else, pahaha!"
He was forcing it here, but then again he kept them alive so making fun of their miseries wasn't all that bad. Plus they always had the possibility to give up so they couldn't complain much about it either. Ayame would however have to reorient the focus of the current job as Fujitora would probably dive into a complete lack of seriousness for the remainder of the mission if he weren't brought back on earth. Those with a strong sense of smell would likely be able to detect the reason as to why this sudden outburst occurred. But even without such a sense, it'd be pretty easy to guess as to why, especially when his gimmick is literally that kind of thing.
