@SimplyJohn I find the idea of needing loot weird considering it isn't and rpg really.

Like... For example, I can understand enchanted things to rare metals.
But... Cassius uses a Saber, which is a fast light sword that will make bleeding to inflict really easily by real life standards.

Just light an effective.

But I understand. But... characters also should not be aware of such logic either XD

It'll be more a case of being able to find trainers willing to teach new skills for a price, or manuals with information on new potions and traps for Henrietta, and other similar gear, rather than upgrading equipment.

Having said that, the mercs should be aware that certain rare metals could give an advantage in a fight, such as silverite being poison to darkspawn, dragon leather being fire resistant and so on. Such things may have an impact on the roleplay if a character managed to get himself (or herself) enough dragon leather to get a whole suit made so they could walk through flames unharmed.

Should take a fully grown high dragon to get enough material for a male character, and a baby dragonling for a female one. :P

Wouldn't Cassius like a sabre which would burn darkspawn on contact?

@SimplyJohnQuestion falls down to how minimal the darkspawn is compared to how many other things you'll fight. XD

Though he could be like Geralt of Rivia and have a sword for monsters and humans. XD

It just really depends seeing as most things will be situational.

I'm playing it that the Architect is still alive, in which case he's gathering the darkspawn under Amaranthine and 'educating' them in how to behave in civilised company. The only ones we'd be likely to encounter may be a few stragglers, nothing the party shouldn't be able to deal with.

Unless I'm lying and deliberately trying to get the party to run straight into an Archdemon.

@SimplyJohnThat is a bit much XD

I like the ideas of One Piece, but not the entire thing itself. (As in the characters at times.)
Aside from that there are only few animes I like. And that says a lot considering I don't really like anime anymore.

Inyuasha, FMA(both versions.), Ghost in the Shell Stand alone Complex and Second Gig. (Blame this for setting my standards so high.)
Studio Ghibli movies. And that is it.

Although I prefered the Brotherhood version of FMA (the one more accurate to the books) I did like Lust's story better in the first anime.

GitS is what got me into anime in the first place, it was my first film and then led me onto the TV series.

HA! Joke's on you, Freddy's tiny as hell, and only has to armor one arm! >:D

Also as for loot and stuff, Freddy might get new armor and stuff, but since his axe, named Dragonslayer, is all he has left of the Dogs of Fereldan, he ain't ever gonna replace it unless it breaks.

Might be able to find some pretty enchantment baubles to hang from his mighty weapon and help him out in battle though.

By the way, am I the only one reading Fredrick with a Scottish accent?

See, I imagined him having just a slight British accent alla Fereldan, but now he has a scottish accent. You have made it canon.

@Adorabadass Sounds very cost effective. "Don't worry, I only need to armor ONE arm."

honestly Gerald is only still in the roleplay because I'm here he'd probably have left the group without me controlling him. No one is considering the true dangers of the ancient roads like he keeps trying to say as people write him off as arrogant. Perhaps because I can see it by his point of view but I honestly like Gerald see the deep roads as unnecessarily dangerous.

@vancexentan Rationalizing with the players does not equal to rationalize with the Player characters.

But I can see your point of view. But in truth; everything is dangerous in Thedas. Nothing is ever truly as simple. Thus the extrenious politics.

Edit : Adorabadass, How does Fredrick even know Cassius is mage of any type? Like he showed off no magic nor has he said anything.

@CAS1006@Adorabadass It's all done with mirrors and magnets.

@vancexentan Isn't the point of the roleplay to get into trouble? If we take the safest course and make it to Starkhaven without incident where's the fun to be had?

Personally I think 'Etta would've preferred to take the surface route since it would've given her the opportunity to visit the arcanist in Tantervale, which will be missed if we take the Deep Roads, but since she's now heavily into designing her Golem Trap 'Enticement Device' I think her mind's already moved onto other things.

@SimplyJohn If he's got the Darkspawn Taint, can Martin detect Darkspawn, the same way Grey Wardens can?
