Also, the attention to historical detail in everyone's posts so far is just fantastic and keeping me on my toes (read: my family is bewildered and a little worried by my sudden interest in Nazi death camps), so well done all.

@Keyguyperson: do you think Klaus should notice Józef at the diner or nah?

Hm, I've gotten a little further in surprisingly little time on Aaron's possible motivation. He's a closeted homosexual man with a hebrew first name in Nazi Germany, one would think he has enough suspicion and pressure on him as it is. I'd say he fears that defecting would be the final nail in his coffin and that they'd send him to a concentration camp? Regardless of whether or not his fears would be fixed in truth, I'd say that's enough to make a man want to save his own skin. Thoughts, anyone?

Ironic because @Adriane and I were just discussing what to do with Mat, and one plot idea was to have him arrested and killed because he's homosexual (which would give Klaus and potentially Aaron a personal reason to fight against the Third Reich).

I like the idea, with one suggested modification: Aaron is gay, and a high-ranking SS official knows that he is gay, and the only thing between him and a concentration camp is his agreeing to keep doing the medical research that other doctors can't do, given their lack of experience with the magical power source.

If they were seizing the lab equipment and getting rid of the scientists, then there would be no one left to need his doctor skills (unless they were gonna keep monitoring the scientists in isolation or something in which case nevermind) so they decide to ship him off to a camp and ros hears this when she hears about the lab closing? Would he defect if she told him they didn't need him and were going to kill him? Doesn't seem like he'd have any other option...

They might keep Aaron around because they'd want him to divert his attention to magical experiments on human subjects (some way to transfer his abilities to other men to improve the army's capabilities, for example). Also it's unlikely Klaus could have stolen all the lab equipment, so they'd have enough notes and documentation to recreate the circumstances that created the magical black hole in the first place.

One step ahead of ya. After Klaus gets back from lunch, an SS officer is going to pay the Zauber team a visit, and I'm sure he'll have tons to say to Aaron once he's finished talking to Klaus.

I googled "Polish racial slurs for Germans" to be prepared.

Also, I'm loving these ideas for Aaron and Mat. When/if Józef realizes that they're gay it'll be fun writing from his point of view. Being Catholic up until now, he'll be trying to choose between his old views and considering the relationship wrong or ending up accepting homosexuality because the Nazis oppose it.

Because they discovered magic and the German's want to use it as a weapon and when they come knocking to ask about developing weapons Klaus seems very uncooperative so they decide to raid the lab because they want magical weapons even if Klaus and the team won't make them

I just finished a book about Mengele's experiments and the hunt for Mengele, (it's called Children of the Flames, would highly recommend) and it's got my blood boiling.

Not to get morally righteous in an RP, but there will be some good gruesome, magically-enhanced Nazi-whomping in later arcs.

Other notes:
- Karl Genzken is a real person. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karl_Genzken
- I decided against Klaus recognizing Józef in the diner, because he's a) pretty shellshocked by Ros running out on him, b) it's out of character for him to be aware of his surroundings like that and c) even if he did see Józef, he has no reason to suspect him of spying on him just yet.

It's a sign of high-quality, I believe. If you're gonna tackle the big and a little bit sick bits of reality, you gotta do your research. Let's just hope if the CIA decides we're a bit too incriminating we at least end up locked in together with some paper and pens.
