EVERYBODY ELSE For anyone who made their character come from somewhere specific they made up for themselves that you would like included on the map, please give me the official name/spelling and like a short description of the makeup of the land/village, it's people, and/or whatever specific details you think would be important for people to know should your specific place ever need to be used by us in the rp for more than just reference. Otherwise I'll have to guesstimate it from whatever you have listed in your CS and I don't want to mess anything up. If you're alright with being just generally from Merovah or the valleys, that's fine too, I just want to make sure. (:
Glad to hear we'll be getting a cartographer. I hope this is helpful- I tried to PM it to you, but I kept getting the "The Guild is down" error message... So I figured I'd just post it here:
I never really specified exactly where in Merovah Sir Benjamin was from, since the initial post didn't contain too many specifics about the layout of the country. Actually, I was kind of under the impression that Merovah was not so much one state as much as a series of loosely-aligned petty kingdoms, separated by politics, culture, and religion and stuff. But that's neither here nor there. I figured Benjamin was from somewhere southish, in sort of a wealthy area with good farmland and stuff. I never named the castle settlement he grew up in, but I think it should be called Redwall, maybe after a reddish stone its built from. I figured that would be appropriate, since I mentioned in passing that Sir Benny's previous arms (before he changed them to broken shackles) was a red tower, so presumably he chose the design in honor of his family home. Since it's the seat of power for a fairly important noble family, the castle itself would be large and well-built, as much for comfort as for defense. The settlement would be either a large village or a small town, mostly agricultural, maybe with a smattering of cottage industry or even a bit of mining, or something.
The "small fortified keep" that he and his nascent little branch of the family is given by Lord Jorik Siskus would be somewhat less impressive. Probably just a glorified manor home with a wall and a three or four towers around it. I didn't bother to name it either, but I think "Broadshield Hall" would be appropriate. Being a bit of an egotist, it would be just like Sir Benjamin to rename his new residence after himself. It would probably be close to a farming village not far away, the fields worked by a mixed bag of serfs, freemen, and slaves. I never described the location of Broadshield Hall relative to Redwall, either- I figure it'd be fairly close by, in lands controlled by the senior branch of the Siskus family. Anywhere you want to put it, really, would be okay by me.
But anyway, I'm rambling.
