Aquamarine blinked, chuckling softly as a smile graced her features awhile watching the sleeping Gem now crash on the ground. She carefully bent down, lifting Emerald's head gently before tucking her other arm behind his knees and picking the green Gem up in one sweep. She adjusted him a bit till he sat in a comfier position for her to carry before looking to the team. "I am sure he isn't the only one a bit exhausted of energy after all the excitement of the day. Follow me to the temple everyone, I want to get there before the sun goes down. The sun descending is a view I can't let any of you miss." Aqua said happily, taking her first steps and keeping a slow pace as no one got left behind.

It didn't take long before all of them would catch the view of the large temple, literally made from the cliff itself. The large door leading in carved elegantly built into the cliff wall, high up off the ground while many different upside down structures were seen all around it. This view over looked a grass field, one of the three lakes this town possessed not too far off from that giving a picturesque vision. If she was correct, there should be a trigger somewhere for the stairs that would lead up to the door and hopefully into the temple itself. For now, they could all relax on the grass, take in the view and try to find the trigger before the sunset and if not than after the event. "At least Johnny will have a good place to park his van. It shouldn't be bothered it looks like. I hope everyone in town is really alright..."

Lucky.

That was the one word that Gilles would use to describe himself today, and he knew it well. First there was the sighting of that...thing that he got on camera. Then there was the giant red eye in the sky which was infinitely cooler than the thing from before, which he had also gotten on camera. (Said giant red eye thing also carried off his glasses, and when they hand landed he found them cracked. However, he tried to look on the positive side.) And he made out what seemed to be some blue and white giant woman with four arms? Not on camera, but the fact he saw that nonetheless was awesome-cool. But nothing, nothing was more lucky than the fact that he was stranded out god-knows where while trying to have tailed the van from earlier, because had he gone back home...Well, he couldn't tell from where he was situated, but it didn't look like a good portion of the town was, well, still there. And if he were back there, perhaps he wouldn't still be, well, here.

With all his equipment now placed into his carrier and said carrier slung over his back, Gilles began to pick up the pace a bit, not wanting to shake the equipment around too much, but not wanting to take his time getting back, either. He needed to check back on the town. They'd be needing some help, and though he wasn't exactly the strongest guy around, he wanted to play his part. Plus, he also needed to make sure his home was alright, because if it wasn't, problems would arise.

Eventually he made it back to town, tired from his trek but still keeping a relatively good pace. Much to his relief it was a non-residentual area that was targeted -thank god- but it was still a pretty messed up sight, and the cracked lenses worn over his eyes had nothing to do with it. His pace slowed down as he took it all it, feeling rather bad that he hadn't been able to help out earlier, though he wasn't sure what he could do. Citizens were already trickling back in, so clearly it was safe enough -not that Gilles would have cared in the least if it were safe or not- but the town was going to need some fixing up for sure.

Unsure of what exactly to do, he scanned the area, trying to find the face of Mayor Coss. Instead, he found what he had been looking for earlier.

The van looked okay enough on the outside, but he could see from the doors which were left wide open that the inside was pretty shaken up. What looked worse, however, was the sight of its driver. Gilles didn't know the man very well, but everytime he saw him, he always seemed so chipper, full of life. It was saddening -eerie, even- to see him like this. He tried his best to not breath in the smoke too much as he approached the other man. He had questions, many questions. But questions would have to wait. Even he, childish as he could be, knew that. Right now, he needed to help out somehow.

"Uh..."

Well, whoop-de-friggin' doo, the great Gilles does it again, folks! Socially inept loser by moonlight, still a socially inept loser by daylight, never knows how to do what is right, somebody just shoot him already and do us all a favour, for the love of god. What a joke! This has been 'Gilles Cannot People', everyone! Merci et Abonnez-Toi!

"...H-Hey. Um. I'm sorry, lemme try that again. I-It's Johnny, right? "
He sat down besides Johnny, making sure to give him enough space as he was, after all, a stranger to most of town. Taking a glance at the beer can by his side as if it were going to jump up and eat him at moment, and then set his eyes on a cracked, purple rock nearby. A few moments of awkward silence passed as he stared at it, picked it up, examined it closer, and then let it drop to the floor again.

"...You don't look too good, brother .Do you...Is there something I can do for you? Help with the van, maybe?"

Oh my god, what is this idiot doing. Someone shut Gilles up already. Spare us all.

After a bit of walking, and feeling more and more alone, Melanite began to run, not a full on sprint, but a good run that covers distance. She was terrified, she was alone, and wow, could she not stress how alone she exactly felt, she didn't know what this exact location was she didn't know where on this planet this was, she didn't even know what planet this is! Eventually after a long run, she tripped, falling over with a heavy thud, and skidding lightly with an "Oof!"...She started to feel helpless, laying there she started to curl up and try to assess this situation, assess it more then she has so far, and try her hardest not to cry...

Bloodstone's room suddenly lit up red, a loud siren blaring. He raced out of the temple and ran to the scanners, "Chromite, a new gem just appeared and I'm not making the same mistake twice. Your coming with." Bloodstone warped to the pad at the kindergarten and looked around before noticing Melanite. Blood walked over to her before she broke into a sprint and then tripped. Blood reached her and squatted next to the ball of a gem on the ground, "Hello little one, I'm Bloodstone but you may call me Blood if you wish. May I offer you some help up? Perhaps I can help teach you of the world around you?" Bloodstone stood up and stretched out his hand to pull the young one up if she accepted it.

"Bloody 'ell..." Amber said in awe as he took in the sight of the temple. Nothing in his whole, quite literally one day long, life had ever looked as breath taking as this temple. "This is suppose to be our 'ome mum? He asked to Aqua, though he never took his eyes off the temple. "Place looks like it could hold a 'hole city of people." He said with a shake of his head before something occurred to him. "'ou aren't expecting a city of Gems are you?" He asked half joking though given the day he had had so far Amber wouldn't of been surprised if a whole spaceship of Gems suddenly appeared and ended up staying with them.

Reggie

As Reggie was talking to the guy who was seemingly going to talk to the gems, he noticed the little elfish one with the mouth walking off to who knows where. While Reggie was usually good at minding his own business, seeing the smallest of the techincolor gang striking it out from the pack definitely peaked his interest. He waved good-bye to the guy he was talking to, then proceeded to walk in the yellow gems direction until he was a comfortable distance away from her, close enough that she' be able to hear him without trouble, but far enough so that he wasn't invading any possible boundaries. It was quite clear form the way this gem acted, to both him and the other gems, that she wasn't the most friendly of people.

After a while of walking, in which he expected to either be confronted or ignored by the little hello being, he decided to try and talk to her. Who knows, maybe this time she'd at least try to be somewhat friendly.

"Hey, I know it's none of my business, but why did you leave the rest of your group? From what I gathered, you guys aren't the most knowledgeable about things here on Earth, so wouldn't it be better to stick together. Strength in numbers and all that." He left out that she was short as hell, barely looked capable of standing without a strong wind pushing her over, and looked like she was made out of glass. This is in part because Bloodstone taught him that she was probably stronger than she looked, and also because he was trying to befriend her, which was a hard enough feet on it's own. Still, he found the little gem's attitude interesting, the sheer amount of willpower she seemed to have being rather impressive.

Spinel

Spinel sat on the grass. "This is pleasant. I'm glad we made it through our previous ordeals and took minimal losses, hopefully Evenkite will be safe." she said. She wanted to explain her thought process from before to Aquamarine, Spinel felt like she owed her some kind of explanation for why she nearly left. She tried to think of a concise way to put it, but all she could think of to say was "Despite all appearances, I do care for your safety."

Chromite

Chromite hurried along after Bloodstone and followed him to where Melanite was. She examined the area, seeing no apparent threat. She wasn't entirely sure why Bloodstone insisted the she come with him, but she wasn't about to question him. Chromite simply stood to the side and did her best not to seem threatening. Her presence didn't exactly exude warmth and kindness, but she was at least good at blending in with the background.

She laughed at Amber's comment and shook her head, "No, I certainly don't expect a city of gems and it would be quite a surprise if that happened or unfortunate. Haven't decided on that yet but this will be our home either way, just as soon as I find the staircase trigger. It might be nice to just watch the descent of the sun first though." Aquamarine gently placed Emerald down on the grass, making sure the other was placed in a comfy position before taking a seat herself on the grass next to Spinel. "She is tougher than she looks. I am sure she will be alright and probably just needs time to work things out. I will do my best to keep an eye on her from afar and see when it would be a good time to approach her. I am glad that we stayed together as a team. I was ready to lose you all but I really was hoping against it. I think we will really love it here." She sat calmly, feeling peaceful as the wind blew and kept an eye on the gems every now and then as they moved about. She turned her gaze to the sky, excited to see the sunset and ecstatic that the stars would be out. When Spinel spoke up again, she slowly turned her head to look at the other and smiled gently, "That makes me happy to hear because I care for yours as well. All of your gems safety and happiness means everything to me. I will advise all of you best I can but the choices you make in this life are yours. Some will be unfortunate or regretful but you will push past those times and find the goodness."

"Hey, I know it's none of my business, but why did you leave the rest of your group? From what I gathered, you guys aren't the most knowledgeable about things here on Earth, so wouldn't it be better to stick together. Strength in numbers and all that."

A voice.

A familiar one.

Evenkite didn't count on being followed. She wasn't going to lie, a small -just a small- part of her wished Amber or Sodalite, or better yet, both, might've followed suit, but they already made their stance very clear and she wasn't going to try and persuade them. It was their choice, and just as Evenkite wouldn't want anyone trying to sway her choices, she didn't want to try and sway theirs. Besides, it wasn't really upsetting. She liked those two, yes, but they weren't close or anything. Hardly acquaintances. It would have been nice for them to join her, but not upsetting for them to have not.

However, never did she count that out of all people that would follow, it would be Reggie.

Why Reggie?

Evenkite stopped in her tracks, the first time she did so since she departed, and turned around to face the human being. Her eyes, normally wide and bright, were now narrowed, scanning him from top to bottom, and her mouth tugged at the right corner of her lip. After a few moments of silence, her expression softened, and she finally spoke.

"Reggie, sir. I mean no offense, but I would like to respond to your question with a different question: Why are you following me? Did the others send you here? Because I made my choice very clear."

The little gem remained silent a little longer, still examining Reggie. She carefully considered whether or not to answer Reggie's question. It was a curious thing, being followed by him, but at the same time, considering that he left the meeting before anyone else had done so, she doubted she was sent by Aquamarine or Bloodstone. True, he was found with him at first, but considering his reactions to his words they didn't seem to be on the same side. And if they were, well, they definitely weren't buddy-buddy. Her head cocked to the side and the faintest trace of a smile formed on her face. Surely if he went through the bother of following her despite this, the least she could do was answer? Besides, it was amusing, really, that he went through all this trouble. Admirable, in a way.

"You are free to continue to follow me, Reggie, sir, whatever your reasons be, but I doubt Kindergarten will be of much interest to you. I will, however, answer your question properly now, if you care to follow me. I doubt you are with the others, and even if you do turn out to be a threat, well...I hope it doesn't come down to that, for both our sakes, but I can handle you."

And with that, Evenkite turned around, making her way back towards Kindergarten as she was before. After a few steps, she turned around to face him every now and then as she spoke.

"Well, for starters, there's, simply put, the fact that I don't want to be part of this nonsense over Homeworld and Earth and betrayals and what have not. This was never my problem and it shouldn't be now. That's one reason. For another, I miss my home. Plus, Green Gem said she'd return eventually as well, so leaving it behind means I might never see her again."

Evenkite remained silent for a few moments, her gaze vacant and her mind elsewhere.

"Green Gem, Green Gem, I can't remember her name at all. Yes, her, not him, I don't mean Emerald," she said, letting out a small but harsh giggle, her grin displaying her crooked and sharp teeth, something that looked more fit for a beast than a human. Or rather, a humanoid. "If I never saw Emerald again, I doubt I could be happier. Perhaps you could say that's reason number three."

By now they were approaching the Kindergarten, the purple canyon now in clear sight and looming overhead. It wouldn't be long until they got there. Eve couldn't help but smile. Peace at last. Assuming Reggie would leave her be, of course. He seemed like the type to respect her need for peace, but if she were mistaken, hopefully the answers would satisfy him and he'd leave.

"As for not being the most knowledgeable gem, this much is true, and I won't claim otherwise. However, rest assured that I know more than the rest of the young gems. After all, they've hardly been in existence, and though my own hasn't been very long either, it's been much longer than theirs. Besides, Green Gem taught me lots, for the short while she was with me. Otherwise I wouldn't even know that I was called a gem, or even what my name is. Which I suppose I can reveal to you now that Bloodstone isn't around. It's Evenkite, but please call me Eve instead. I'm sorry for my reluctance of sharing it earlier. His hogwash set my guard up and I didn't feel he could be trusted, even with something as simple as a name. Granted, I don't know what he could possibly do with a name, but it felt wrong to give away that information. I'm also sorry for being so chatty, I've just had to hold my tongue back for quite a while."

Another small moment of silence as Eve continued to walk, the Kindergarten drawing nearer and nearer. Her step seemed to grow more energetic by the moment, becoming more and more like hops, and her mood lifted quite a bit.

"As for safety in numbers, that's also a load of hogwash. I was quite fine on my own before, trouble only began to show up once the others did. If anything danger seems drawn to numbers. The only reason I joined at all was because of the orange gem," Evenkite seemed to purposely leave his name out, as though she didn't feel it was right to reveal it without his permission, "Because he was in his gem at the time, leaving him both vulnerable and unable to make a decision. My plan was to stay here and hide out any potential danger that followed, but it felt wrong to leave Orange Gem alone with the others in that state, until he could reform and make his own choice. Which he now has. Now I can go back to my original plan. And if hiding doesn't work, I can-Shhhh. Stay down." The last bit was whispered rather urgently.

Evenkite slipped herself into a gap between some boulders and squinted. She blinked once. Twice. And let out a mental groan. For as she began to enter Kindergarten, she saw that she wasn't going to be along after all. In there was Bloodstone, and two other gems. One of the definitely a newborn, the other, she wasn't so certain of.

Don't make eye contact.
Don't make a sound.
Just sneak back into your hole and pretend they aren't even there.

And that's what she was intending to do. At first.

But as she continued to sneak her way by, she couldn't help but feel the need to do something. She was there, after all, to give the newborns the advice of doubting Aquamarine, and here was a newborn, possibly a lone newborn, much like herself that time ago. She remembered how she was at the time, (and maybe a few things were still the same now).

Naive.

Scared.

Confused.

Curious.

Lonely.

All those were easy things to manipulate when trying to sway a choice. Not to mention, she was curious as to how Bloodstone was handling this newborn gem. No spider bots, after all. Was he trying something new? Had there been a misunderstanding? This was weird, too weird, and she was torn between simply letting it be or interfering.

And then it hit her, possibly her dumbest idea yet. She thought of the time she lifted that rock. Could she do it again?

Probably, as long as it's not too big.

Perfect.

"Reggie, anything happens to me, go find Orange Gem and Blue Gem," she whispered as quietly as she could muster without being downright silent. "Not the older blue gem, the one that accompanied me when we first me."

Evenkite's vision fixed on a boulder, one perched up on a cliff not too close but not too far Bloodstone and the two gems accompanying him. A large, heavy boulder. A scary, massive thing. She grinned. Her eyes glowed. The boulder was lifted from it's perch for maybe two or three seconds at most, but that alone was enough to get it far enough that it wouldn't land back on its perch. No, the boulder came crashing down, with a monsterous THUD and with it Eve's energy. It took a lot more out of her than she had expected -she wasn't going to try that again anytime soon- but she got the effect she wanted. She rushed over the best that she could, trying to hide her exhaustion, and tapped the newborn gem on the back quickly, giving her an urgent look before turning away and acting as if she never done so, hoping it had distracted Bloodstone before he had seen the exchange.

"Oh skies, are you three okay? I'm terribly sorry, Bloodstone, sir, that was my bad, truly it was. I was just trying to figure out how to control my abilities. Troublesome, but I believe I'm getting a hang of it. Seemed to have lost my control with that one, though. You're not harmed, are you? And your companions? "

Eve, what the actual hell are you even doing? You've screwed yourself over with that one, the rest of this isn't going to work if you're that drained. This plan -if you can define "plan" as "a loose sequence of manifestly inadequate observations and conjectures, held together by panic, indecision, and ignorance"- is stupid and it's not going to work. Moron.” Why couldn't you THINK for the love of the sky?

Emerald lay there, half-awake, with his eyes barely opened, listening to whatever was happening, something about the sun, and stuff, and something about not being a city of some kinda stuff, and sentimental stuff, and stuff. Basically just stuff. Not that he could hear all of it, because he wasn't really paying attention. He was more focused on the orangeish thing in front of him, so he opened his eyes, and saw that the sky was turning from blue to orange, more distinguishable near the sun, and he pointed towards it. "Wha's that? The sun's changing color..."

Melanite sat up at the sound of footsteps, hearing him she turned suddenly to see whoever was standing upon her. She froze dead as her eyes slowly rose up his body as he spoke. She felt relieved at his kindness, what a gentle voice to hear first before any other voice before in her life, she retreated nearly a centimeter when His hand was outstretched, but after looking up at his face once more she reached out to take it, accepting it like an innocent child.
THUD
She withdrew her whole arm when the thud startled her, she jumped once more when something touched her back and she looked at the face that was behind her, her eyes wide and filled with a newborn terror, who was this? Why was she so scared? Melanite put her hand down and sat in her lonesome, she took the hint as something else, it was too far different then just the boulder frightening her, it was as if this particular stranger was trying to warn her, maybe it WAS the boulder? Maybe not. She began to distance herself from all the newcomers now, looking at the floor, even though they all appeared, she still felt alone...But now she was also confused...

Reggie

"Nope, no one sent me, I was just curious as to why you decided to head of on your own. My mom always used to say that I was too damn curious for my own good and that it was going to get me killed one of these days, but that day is not today . . . probably." Reggie replied to Eve question's lightheartedly at first, but upon mention of his mother, his face quickly took on a pained expression as his hand instantly went to pat his sword down. He was brought out of this melancholy by Eve's response, and while he was glad that she didn't mind him going with, the barely veiled threat did cause him to sweat a tad. He had little trouble believing that she was right in her assumption, given what he'd gathered from his fight with bloodstone, and while he was a trained warrior(something Eve was obviously not) that still told him that Gem base abilities are greater than humans, so it was best not to get to involved with them in a combat setting.

As Eve continued to speak, Reggie listened, curious about this other gem she mentioned. He considered that it might be the seemingly unstable one from before, but Eve was sure to strictly assure him that was not the case, as well as make the creepiest smile he had ever seen. She continued talking for a bit, including some stuff about this mysterious 'Green Gem' teaching her stuff, but Reggie couldn't get the image of Eve smiling out of her mind. I don't think I can call her Elf any more, those teeth make her to demonic-looking . . . guess i'll just go with Imp from now on. Evenkite, the little yellow imp that's tired of your bullshit. Pretty sure that'd be the best kid's book ever, and probably the most controversial if I ended it with that face traumatizing millions of kids the world over.

As they got closer to the Kindergarten place, which name suggested something a lot less bleak and depressing than the place he was looking at(Why do the space aliens name their birthing ground using a german phrase, is that just the closest translation, or did they just think that it sounded cool . . . hell when these fuckers showed up I don't think German was even a language yet.),Eve started to talk a bit more, introducing herself, but withholding the names of her friends. Reggie was starting to get the feeling that this girl(?) had a few trust issues, though if what she said was anything to go by, their was nothing around to facilitate such things. Was she just naturally that way, or was that part of her design. A question for another time, as Reggie, was alerted to the fact that they had company by Eve's harsh whisper.

Looking at what she was looking at, he made out the figures of Bloodstone and two other people, most likely gems. One was wearing armor and looked to be on BS's side(internal child giggles a little before being slapped by reason), the other was obviously another one of the newer gems. Squatting down behind a nearby rock, Reggie was getting ready to grab Eve and bolt, consequences be damned, only for the Gem to whisper a line straight from a summer movie trailer, than seemed to cause a huge fucking boulder to fucking float in the air. It stayed like that for a few seconds before falling to the ground with a resounding thud. After that, Eve came out from hiding and tried to play the innocent game or something, but that seemed to only cause the new gem to feel suspicious of everyone. Inside his head, reggie was cursing Eve's reckless move with every word imaginable, before taking a deep breath and thinking of his options.

I can stay here like a good human for a 50/50 chance of staying out of this, RUn like hell away for a 100% chance of staying out of it, or do the dumb movie thing . . . Goddammit, I've made fun of so many movies for having characters who did what I'm about to do. Such a fucking hypocrite.

After taking a second to steel his nerves, then taking five more to call himself an stupid fucking idiot in every way imaginable, he got up and walked out into the open. He said nothing to Blood, or to the girl with him, or to Eve, but instead went over to the newborn gem, a smile on his face as he kept a respectable distance from her, not wanting to overwhelm her. "Hello, and happy birthday I guess haha . . . you don't know what that is do you? Of course not, you were only just born, so lets take things slow. First introductions are in order, my name's Reggie, guy over there is Bloodstone, and he's a bit of a dick." Reggie still hadn't gotten over the home world gems insult of his skills and thus, couldn't resist the jab. "I don't know who the person with him is, and I would tell you this one's name, but I'm not sure if that's particularly smart, so we'll just call her Imp for now."

Reggie made a gesture to each person he was talking about before making a finally gesture to the newborn. "Now then, do you know you're name and would you like to introduce yourself? You don't half to if you don't want to, or can't, but then I'll have to come up with a nickname for you, and you probably won't like it, as I'm terrible at it, just ask Imp."

Bloodstone was pleased when the young gem had taken his hand, giving her a warm smile that quickly turned into a scowl as a loud thud was heard. Everything happened so quickly, his first reaction was to grab the girl and stand as her shield but she wasn't there. He turned and saw Evenkite standing there. Blood got even angrier at this, did this one just try to attack us. Then came the apology, which cheered him up because he knew what it was like to lose control of one's powers. And then the swordsman came in, first calling Blood a dick, which made the gem stifle a laugh, and then the little one an imp, which killed him. Blood burst out laughing, he looked over at Eve which only made him laugh more. When he finally calmed down, Blood walked over to Reggie and wrapped his arm around Reggie's shoulder, "Oh Swordsman, I should have kept you around, if only for comedic relief. Maybe I could even teach you to use a sword correctly, and give you a real sword." Blood then walked over to the gem, a smile still on his face.

"I'm sorry for the scare, please let me give you proper introductions. I am Bloodstone, as I have said, that over there is my knight Chromite, this joker here is Reggie, he's human unlike the rest of us, and the little... imp... over there is ...ummm... Well, she hasn't told me, so I guess it's just Imp for now." Blood offered his hand yet again to the new-born, "If you'd let me, I'd like to take you to my ship, where I can teach you all about who you are, the history of your kind, the world we come from, how to fight, how to use your powers, and more. And Reggie, maybe I could convince you to come as well, you seemed so interested in my technology that maybe I should give you the chance to see some. Besides, if you're any good with it, I may let you repair some things." Blood then turned to Eve and walked towards her, hopefully with the new-born close behind.

"Look, I know we may have started off on the wrong foot but I only want to teach you. I would show you every thing I can, maybe even let you visit Home-World if you wanted, and then let you make a choice. If you choose Aqua, Me, to stay on Home-World, or to stay neutral here on Earth, I wouldn't care and would understand that your choice is your choice. I just want to give you all the information to make a choice knowing all that happened." He gave a sad smile to Eve, "Even if you don't come with me now, you are always free to come later, my door is always open."

she had followed far in the distance, watching Reggie interact with evenkite. She uttered not a word, and listened in on their conversation. She would return to the other gems though, Aquamarine would manage to find them again.

What had intrigued her was that there was another green gem, and that Evenkite was awake some time before everyone else. She wanted to know more about this other green gem. Hopefully Eve would say more about her if she just waited long enough.

But what was she doing? Sodalite couldn't understand it. She had caused quite a scare with the big rock. Sodalite would have thrown weapons again if they ha been on her person. She then spoke to Bloodstone. Was she going to join the enemy? She wanted to step in and stop her, she really did, but another part of her wanted to step back and see what would happen. "Evenkite..." She whispered to herself, watching silently.

Sodalite eyes focused to the new gem. A new gem! From what she could gather, it was a newborn one like she and the others just a little while ago. Maybe Evenkite's plan was to get that gem to see what Bloodstone was actually doing? Slowly, she stepped closer.

Melanite stood up and thought about his offer, she held her self away from the immediate group and stepped back away from Bloodstone when he laughed. She wondered what a sword was, and wondered what a Swordsman was. She tilted her head once Bloodstone started talking, she had no clue what a human, a Reggie, or what an imp was, his smile atleast made her feel a bit at ease. She looked down at his hand and hesitantly reached out and took it, she looked up at his face after she did so and began to smile a pretty smile with innocent eyes, was this her first friend? She couldn't decide quite yet: "I am Melanite." she said after he had spoke, her gaze had moved to her feet by that point, she had never really heard herself speak before, she has heard herself yell but that's it. Honestly though, she was really excited, she didn't really hear his offer, it went through one ear and out the other, she was just too thrilled that someone had found her and showed kindness.

Reggie? Well, since your here and all when I clearly told you to stay back in case something bad happened, please kill me now so that I don't end up doing it myself by making more stupid choices. Thank you!

Welp, this wasn't good. On the bright side, Bloodstone seemed to have bought into her trick. If it had been anyone else, she might've felt like a hypocrite for being dishonest when she chastised him earlier for , but hell, it was him who tried to lie to her earlier, so this was simply getting even in her mind. Besides, it seemed like the best way to get her message across. Whatever Bloodstone said, she doubted he'd have taken kindly to simply walking up to the newborn and informing her about both sides of the story. Or rather, the three sides. The younger gem was clearly spooked by her actions, but hopefully she'd pick up her message disguised as simple statements. The rock falling as a distraction was risky, she knew that, but she didn't want Reggie to serve as the distraction instead, nor did she want to risk trying to make such contact with the young gem with Bloodstone watching.

On the other end, however, Evenkite suddenly felt not only tired and drained, but also light headed. Both of them were well in the open, and as far as she could tell, Reggie didn't try to find Amber or Sodalite, so if something bad happened, she would have to depend on him to get them both -or, if Melanite joined them for some forsaken reason, rather, all- out of this mess. And she doubted he would be capable of that.

For a brief moment, she felt more than light headed. Everything went fuzzy and the world seemed to tilt at an impossible angle. Shapes and colours blended into nonsensical patterns and she wasn't sure who was who, what was what, and where was where. It seemed to take every ounce of concentration in her not not fall flat on her face in her stupor, but somehow she managed, her only sign of weakness being a slight wince.

Damn it, did he notice?

Maybe, maybe not.Fake it. You've been doing that so far and Bloodstone hasn't caught on. Push your luck. Try to cover it up.

Thus she tried to disguise this moment of weakness as a long blink, hoping that he hadn't noticed. Before she opening her eyes, she heard Reggie call her an 'imp'. Imp. How she loathed being called an imp. Elf was bad enough. And Bloodstone's laughter made her want to curl up in her hole and die. Under normal circumstances, she'd have probably snapped, but she felt too woozy to do so, and instead concentrated her energy into made a grimace.

And now it seems even more believable than a blink. See Eve? Maybe this can work out. Keep on going. Play along with it.

"Yellow. Gem. Please call me Yellow Gem." Her face was flushed a yellow-green out of both embarrassment and anger, but other than this there was no sign that she felt this way, keeping her voice as composed as possible. Not because she wanted to hide her anger. No, she'd have been more than happy to let them know she was pissed. It was because she was scared of revealing the sudden weakness she felt if she didn't keep her composure. She felt herself growing dizzy once more but succeeded in not revealing it. Yes, her very sudden and awkward stillness was probably a red flag that something was off, but still, better than to show weakness in front of this much more dangerous gem.

Good to know that you can't use your powers if anything bad happens now without passing out or something. Way to go, Eve!

Blinking -for real this time-, she stepped away from Reggie -and by extension, Bloodstone- her eyes went from the commander from Homeworld to the newborn gem. She remained silent until the little gem gave her name away. Not because she had nothing to say, but because again, her vision was going weird and she didn't want to betray the weakness in her voice.

"Hello there, Melanite," Evenkite said, her voice strangely cracked at first but quickly changing into a tone much softer than her usual one, the same sort of tone she remembered Green Gem using with her when she had been found.

Eve, they probably noticed that. Idiot. You should've waited longer before speaking, it wouldn't have killed you!

"I'm glad to see you're alright, young one." She offered a small and -wait, was that...weak?- smile to the newborn gem, but did not try to approach her any closer, knowing that she was probably already spooked enough as was.

Eve, you're slipping up. Damn it, try harder, or they're going to see right through you, assuming they already haven't!

And so came poor choice number four of the day: Deciding to cover up any weakness they might have perceived by using her powers further, which would hopefully make Bloodstone and Chromite have their doubts as to whether they imagined it or not. She floated up to the newborn and nearly immediately did she regret it as a strange burning sensation began to flow through her, ever so close to crying out in the sudden pain. It wasn't incredibly strong, but it hurt enough.

Conceal it. Don't let them know.

Clenching her teeth, she tried to hide her pain, and continued to feign her cool composure. Apparently having ignored Bloodstone, she continued to address the young gem.

"I really am sorry about that, I didn't mean to scare or harm you," she continued, patting Melanite on the head and giving her hair a gentle ruffle.

Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow o get back down get back down get bac-no. No. They'll notice. Endure it.

"This is my...Companion, I guess you could say, Reggie, as he already introduced himself. He's what we call a human being, as Bloodstone here, -who, yes, is a bit of a dick, in vulgar terms, but he's a well-meaning dick in his own way- has kindly informed you of. They're the dominant species on Earth, the planet you, Reggie, and I were born on. Bloodstone comes from a place known as Homeworld, where most gems are made. Which is what we are called. The two of us are different as we come from Kindergarten, the purple canyon we're in right now. There's more of us; perhaps you'll meet them later. We're both new to Chromite, but nice to meet you nonetheless, ma'am,"
she paused, giving a small nod of her head towards the knight-like gem, "And I've already introduced myself."

She then turned around to Bloodstone, finally landing back on the floor -she doubted Bloodstone would take kindly to her floating above his head anyways, so there was her excuse to do so- and addressing him. And as she did so, she noticed a tiny spec of blue in the distance.

Sodalite?

Bless. Bless you, Sodalite.

Was this her vision playing tricks on her again? Did Reggie somehow manage to find her in that short time? How fast were humans? Had she been following them this whole time?

Don't stare, you'll give away her presence. You'll find out soon enough. If anything happens, she can probably ward them away with her ungodly racket made by clanging weapons together. She couldn't help but give a choked laugh of relief, quiet and cracked. She quickly changed into into a dry and humourless one.

"We have started off on the wrong foot, Bloodstone, but, and I mean no offense, it's hardly my fault that I have trouble trusting you who so blatantly lied to me upon first meeting."

There was message number one to Melatine, disguised as her usual irritation towards Bloodstone's actions: He may not be telling the truth, he lied to me on first our meeting, and there's nothing saying he hasn't done the same to you. Would she pick it up? She was a newborn, there was no guarantee. But she clearly realised that the contact from earlier was meant to serve as a warning, given her more frightened demeanour, so she hoped so. If worst came to worst, she was probably going to screw herself over anyways and let everything spill without filter.

"And even so, if I were to come to Homeworld with you, and I decide that it's not what I want, I can no longer remain neutral. You yourself said that the moment I leave you, the moment I become an enemy. And I do not want your enmity, nor do I want your alliance, as tempting as it is since you know so much more than Aquamarine."

Message number two and three: She wasn't taking sides, and that said other side was lead by a less knowledgable gem, Aquamarine

"Then again, Aquamarine has been a lot kinder to the rest of us than you, which is probably why they chose her instead , not with the spider bots driving us out of our home, or the laser you fired sending me flying to skies knows where. If it weren't for my orange friend catching me, I'm sure my gem would've cracked or even shattered from the impact of the land. "

Message four, five, and six: Aquamarine may not know as much but she'd been kind. To the rest of us, meaning that the majority of the gems she'd mentioned earlier were with her now. Finally, the message that he didn't have much of a clean record.

Evenkite returned the sad smile. Or rather, pained smile, but the burning sensation was beginning to warp the sense of her actions, and she didn't even realise that it had slipped. She let out a strange laugh. It wasn't a laugh of humour. Not a dry laugh or a mocking laugh or anything of the sort. No, this was the sort of laugh you gave when you're too distraught with something that as a defense mechanism, you simply laugh. In this case, said something was the burning sensation. It was getting worse and worse, and now she stumbled slightly due to her light head, holding onto Reggie's legs for support, before seeming to come back somewhat to her senses.

No way did they not notice that, Eve. You've screwed yourself. Serves you right. Should've just minded your own business, let the new gem be swayed by Bloodstone. You've probably scared her now and the message probably didn't even get through. Good fucking job. Hell, why did you try so hard to make it seem like you weren't about to pass out? Because now you probably are going to no matter what you do.

"I-I'm sorry, I don't know what that was, Bloodstone sir, Reggie sir, Chromite ma'ahahahaha-", she tried to say only to cut back into the strange laughing fit from before, now wobbling slightly as she let go of his leg. A few moments passed before she composed herself. "Chromite, ma'am, forgive me for that. Anyways, perhaps I'll join you later, perhaps not, Bloodstone sir, but as of now consider me out. I do have a question, if you care to answer: Why haven't you sent out the spider bots like when the others arrived? Why are you suddenly being so kind to this gem while you were so hostile towards the rest of us? And this, this has been bugging me ever since I found you with Melanite; why didn't you arrive when I emerged, but did for the others? At first-" a sudden pause as her vision blurred again, too weak now to even bother hiding it. She clinged onto Reggie's leg once more, mentally degrading herself for her reckless actions, "At first I thought it was because it was because one gem alone wasn't worth the trouble going after, especially not a pitifully small thing like me, but now that you appeared before this newbor-ahahahaow ow ow owahahahahAHAHAHA..."

Yup, you've fucking lost it now.

Everything was going blurry again, and unlike before, it didn't seem to be clearing up. Was she still standing? She wasn't sure. Probably not. She was probably having a fit on the floor and scaring the short life our of the newborn gem. Reggie and Bloodstone were probably either laughing or were disturbed. She didn't know about Chromite. Eventually the colours began to fade altogether at it went black, a distant memory surfacing in place of the reality that should've been before her. For a few moments, she was back in her hole, her head leaned against the side of the older green gem who promised would return for her. Her features were clearer than anything she had seen after dropping the boulder earlier. The green skin, flat messy hair, rounded angular eyes, the weird fuzzy sweater she wore that covered her jagged arms, which reminded her more of something insectoid than humanoid. But more than anything, she remember the voice, vivid detail.

"Delicate thing, evenkite is, just like my gemstone, talc. A drop that would barely put a scratch on another gem could shatter ours, so promise you'll always be careful when I'm gone, alright? I don't know how long it's been since the war, and there could still be some more dangerous gems around who may try to hurt you."

She then heard herself speak. No, not herself, the memory of her self.

"Hurt me? War? Leave? W-"

Careful, huh? She knew she played it safe before. Never dared to even leave her hole until the whole fiasco happened, and even then she was cautious. But the sudden resurfacing of her power and the encouraging words of Aquamarine had made her grow overconfident. More than that, reckless. She overestimated her abilities and she should've known better, and now it was biting her back. Being careful?

"Whoops, sort of screwed that one up, Talc. So much for caaaaarahahaful..." That was herself this time. Except she realised she wasn't lost in the memory, she was back to where she was, the colours and shapes now cleared up and the burning sensation somewhat dulled. She was somehow still standing after all. And she had said that last bit aloud.

They think you're crazy now. To be fair, I think you're crazy now, too.

Normally Johnny would have gotten some amusement out of the awkward stumbling of words coming from person in front of him but now it was just an acknowledgement of his existence. Another exhale brought a new wave of smoke into the air, a cold can son replacing the tab. It tasted like piss but it was going to get its job done, eventually. Eyeing the fellow up and down a bit he let the man simmer a bit before giving a noncommittal shrug. "The mess is a problem for another time, thanks for offering anyhow." taking a final drag before snubbing it on his bumper, Johnny took a moment to take stock of himself. The shirt was in tatters but the denim vest had survived well enough along with his pants. With a small tug the ruined shirt came undone at the seems before he threw it somewhere behind him, not really caring where it landed. He'd need to do laundry soon.

Pulling another beer off the ring, Johnny weakly offered the can to the stranger in what he hoped was a friendly gesture to break his rather unfriendly mood. "Yeah it is Johnny, what do people call you stranger?"

If I wasn't sure he could kick my ass and kill me with his finger, I would fucking punch him in his face right now. I was just saying that to be a little catty, but now I'm convinced, this guy is a fucking dick, and I want to kick him in his dick. Wait, does he even have a dick? You know what, doesn't matter, it'll give me the same amount of satisfaction either way. Dick.

Reggie's eyes was twisting as he struggled to contain his righteous anger at Bloodstone's comment. The first time he could over look because it was for a lie or whatever, but this time he was saying it point-blank, practically to his face, and he even had the nerve to insult his sword. Seriously, the amount of sickishness this guy was radiating towards him was just staggering. When Blood-(NO, fuck calling him by his actual name, he's Captain Kirk from now on because he has a space ship, beams down to planets, and is trying to bring oddly colored alien girls, and one guy) up to said ship.), when Captain Kirk offered to let him come aboard his alien space craft, Reggie could only think of a single proper response. However, before he could voice it, the newborn gem, now known as Melanite, started to speak, soon followed by Eve.

And boy did Eve have a lot to say, most of it being the most poorly disguised hints he had ever heard being dropped. She mights as well have just shouted at Melanite; 'Don't fucking trust this guy'. And while he knew why Eve was dong this, he couldn't help but shake her head at the girl's timing. This was probably the worst thing to do the new gem, as she was just born and probably really confused. What she needed was someone to ease her into this world, not bombard her with a bunch of crappily hidden information. She needed someone to be straightforward and kind, and while Kirk was doing that, the current scenery made Reggie understand why Aquafina was so against him being here. This place gave him the creeps, and more than anything, imagining the entire world like this, it frankly made him sick to his stomach. At the same time, he wanted to know the intricacies of all of these machines that were just strewn across the place.

Another thing Eve had shown is that she apparently, her powers were rather draining on her, as the longer she spoke, the weaker she began to appear. She clung to his leg for support part of the way through, and just when he thought it couldn't get any worse, she seemed to have a some sort of spasm or a seizure(Can Gems even get seizures?), to which Reggie immediately moved into to see if she was okay only for her to get back up, saying something out loud that made no sense to any of them. After taking a moment to absorb everything she aid and did, he got up and began shifting stuff around in his bag, taking out anything that was hard and rigid and either stuffing it in his pockets or tossing it on the floor if it wasn't important. Once he was happy with it, he turned to Eve, picked her up by the scruff of her neck, ignoring any protest she might've issued and put her in the bag, where he had placed his jacket and some packets of beef jerky to make a semi-comfortable bed.

"Say anything at all, and I will not hesitate to zip you in there. After what I just saw, you clearly need to tai e a break, and you can murder me with your mind powers later. Now fucking rest, cause apparently you need it." If Eve tried to protest too much or attempted to get out, Reggie would make good on her promise and zip her in the bag. After putting the little Imp to bed, he turned to the rest of those in attendance and decided to give them each his own two cents abut the situation. Starting first with Captain Kirk.

"WHile I would love to get on your ship and see your tech, can I just ask a teeny-tiny favor? I want to punch you in the face just once, as hard as I can. 'Why?', You may ask, and I tell you is because you dissed my swordsmanship and my sword, both of which are very important to me for reasons I don't have to explain to you. Just one, it probably will hurt me than it will you, but think of it as therapy. Violent therapy." After that, he'd turn to the one Kirk had named Chromite, but who Reggie would deem as 'Joan of Arc', pointing at her in accusing fashion with his finger.

"You . . . looking fucking awesome. Just wanted to say that, nothing more, keep doing what you'cha doing. Which is just, ya know, standing there, looking like a boss. Heheheheh . . . wow, that was awkward, okay, moving on." Reggie, who by now probably seemed crazy then Eve in some respects, turned to Melanite. "Nice to meet you Melanite, and welcome to Earth, or at least, a very crappy portion of it. Trust me, the rest of it looks a lot better than this dump. Sorry to hate on the place you were born but, to quote a terrible film based on a terrible book that was a fan fiction of an slightly better, but still fucking terrible, movie/book; this is place is just 'Fifty shades of fucked up.' Speaking of cinema, once you've got your sea-legs, or land-legs, or just . . . once you've become more accustomed to being alive, how about I show everything awesome about this place. Like a movie, pretty sure none of you guys have ever seen a movie. I'm telling you, it'd be great, though we'd have to go someplace else since Captain Kirk here blew up the theater. You know what, maybe we could invite everyone else, ya know, have some fun, eat some popcorn, keep the Captain as far away from Aquafina as possible since, last time I checked, you don't get along. But other than that, it would be a nice ay to, ya know, break the tension. Sound cool?"

Reggie had no idea what he was saying, he was just talking out his ass for most of it because, in all honesty, he didn't really care. He was talking to aliens from space, most of which had been alive for less than a day, and his sense of reason just seemed to have noted on out of this situation, It had really been too much for him, and he was pretty sure his mind was broken in some way. That being said, he still wanted to go with his plan, because he felt a duty as a human to give the new gems the full human experience. Plus, he was curious to see how they'd react to such things. So I'm trying to inapt a little social experiment, but hey, experiencing an awesome movie, let's say the avengers, would be good for them . . . probably.

Hey, you idiot, wake up. Emerald woke up with a start, staring around, wondering who said that. Don't worry, it's just us. And you're not crazy, so don't go thinking you are nutso. Anyways, you do realize the group's a bit small, right? Yeah, the mean little one and the blue one with the shovel hands are gone, and we don't have a clue what's happening. Yeah, they left without telling us. Oh, shut up, Blue Shovelhands just followed the loudmouth. Emerald's head was spinning with all of this conversation in his head. He had to ask Aquamarine about where they went, but just in case he wanted to make sure they wouldn't find out about this and think he hit his head too hard on that rock. He turned to Aquamarine and asked, "Umm....where are the others?"

Bloodstone watched the insanity laid out before him. Eve lost it, Reggie asked to punch him in the face, and he couldn't tell if Melanite was startled or absolutely terrified. Blood, with Melanite still in hand backed away from the two. "It was nice talking to you two again but maybe we should discuss things when the Imp is awake and umm.. yeah." Blood looked at Melanite and gave another sad smile. "I'm not sure what just happened and I would be happy to answer any questions you have but first, I have one. Would you still like to come with me to my ship?" Blood looked back over to the two and couldn't help but mouth, 'What the fuck,' as Reggie stuffed Eve into a bag. He looked back at Melanite, with a dumb-founded look still on his face. "So... Would you?"
