More feels

Imagine what would happen if the military did come and Mars wasn't corrupted. The General turns on Mars and the other gems after the attack. Candice stands up for Mars "NO! You promised! You promised you would leave him alone!!!" The General strikes Candice, knocking her to the ground and tells her to remember her place. Candice is considered a traitor to the friends she had made.
After many battles, Candice freeing the gems, aiding them in their plight, and destroying the military's new base, Candice takes a bullet from the General, and lays dying in Mars' arms

I find it darkly amusing that you think the General would still be alive after striking down Candice in front of Mars. Betrayal or not, he wouldn't let that slide. But assuming that he was contained or otherwise kept from doing that up to the point where Candice gets shot . . . the general would be beaten with in an inch of his life, and then slowly have his chest compressed as Tiger and Mars stop being to separate identities. Their shared rage would bring them together into a single entity. And if any of the military would get in the way . . . it'd be bad. If you've ever seen the Iron Giant, than you have an idea of what Mars will be like. And then, after the general is dead, he'd simply poof away, unable to sustain himself anymore after that. A gem forever lost in his own personal hell, reliving that moment over and over again in his mind for the rest of his life.

@KronshiThat would be killing him, and would blood be willing to do that? He's not dead, just dormant. forever. Also, doesn't Blood learn that remaking a gem who died with intense negative emotions upon death equals bad times for everyone.
