Well by monsters I mean just the large natural fauna that's agressive and or dangerous and made to be taken down. You know the stuff that can be taken down and skinned without having it turn to particle effects.

As a little kid, I didn't like leveling. So I always sped through it until I got really stuck. Problem was, I saved right before fighting Seymour and was too under leveled to beat him. But there was no way to go back to level once your in his chambers xD so many deaths happened
