It was a normal day at the Palisades Shopping Mall before the outbreak hit. Couples going on first dates, mall rats loitering next to the food court, nuclear families with their perfect lives. Everyone was going about business as usual, buying things, talking, eating, laughing. Everything was just fine. Everything going as it should. That is, until that strange looking man stumbled through the front door, twitching, his gaze cast down at the floor in front of him as he shuffled into the Entrance Plaza. Something wasnt right. His skin was too pale, his veins too prevalent. Was he sick? Was he dying? He needed help, right? That's what everyone thought as they gathered around him, one of the stronger looking men approaching him, putting a hand on the mans shoulder. Everyone thought he was such a kind, helpful soul.
That is, until the pale man lashed out, sinking his teeth into the poor mans arm, tearing out a large chunk out of his arm.
The change was fast. It took two minutes for the first victim to transform. And the virus only spread from there. Where did it come from? How? These were all questions that went unanswered as more people were bitten, and even more of the lumbering creatures poured through the front doors. Gates were quickly thrown down, people taking refuge behind them and in different areas of the mall. Some of the more organized people were able to barricade the zombies out of certain stores, blocking them out of certain sections of the mall.
According to the radio, rescue will be coming within the next three weeks to the mall. Until then, the people who are still alive--their numbers slowly dwindling-- will need to do anything they can to survive until then. Some prefer to stick it out alone, but others prefer to stick together.
Who would have guessed that people could fall in love in a situation like this?
