So I looked up the age of consent in Japan because the conversation about the legal implications of touching a kid under 17 being able to land you in jail. Interesting enough, the age of adulthood in Japan is technically 18 but the age of the majority is 20. Despite that, the specific age of consent varies locally. Specifically cities comparable to Tokyo tend to have creepily low ages of consent. For Tokyo itself, it has an age of consent of 13.
