On 1st August 1997, He Who Shall Not Be Named took the ministry by force using insiders under the imperious curse to aid his entrance.
Rumour has it that the Minister for magic Rufus Scrimgeour was taken, subjected to torture and subsequently killed by the Dark Lord himself.
The official wording was a shocking resignation and replacement by Pius Thickness, yet this new appointment prompted remarkable changes in ministry policy particularly in regards to muggle relations.
Many ministry wizards kept their head down, fearing for their families and friends, knowing but refusing to believe, downtrodden and defeated they tried to ride out the storm even as the Order of the Phoenix fought a loosing battle of sabotage and propaganda.
Yet they were not the only ones who fought back.... a small band of ministry employees put their safety aside to strike back at the new Death Eater order.
